Story
Jason Momoa is a looker, just like his name sake- and thankfully, he's just a great a dog as he is good looking! He is slightly smaller than your typical American Akita but he's got that Akita mindset. This means he can be a little reserved when meeting new people, but as he's young and smart, he's learned quickly that people bring the fun (and food)- so he makes friends quickly now. He also loves to play and along with training, these are the keys to his heart! He already knows quite a few commands and walks well on a leash- but also loves to run and play in the yard. He plays his own version of fetch which mostly involves running around with the ball- not so much bringing it back- but he loves this game! Typical for his breed, he can be slightly protective and this is why we require someone with previous "power breed" or Akita experience. Akitas are typically not first time dogs and they need boundaries and structure that most first time owners do not understand (which is exactly why he is with us). Jason is crate trained and housebroken. He would do best in a home with no children. Jason is UTD on vaccines, microchipped, and neutered. ADOPTION DONATION: $600.00. Your adoption donation goes toward the cost of this vet care as well as transportation and general care costs. All dogs adopted from Motley Zoo come with a leash and Martingale collar. Each dog also receives a "Tour Gear Bag" full of brochures, coupons, and supplies for your new pup! Meet Dooly💜 Three siblings Dooly, Douner, and Ddochi were rescued from Korean city shelter where they lived for 2 months without their mom. Dooly received training at a training center and learned how to live with people. Baekdoo was rescued from being euthanized in December of 2021 from a high kill shelter in Korea. He is now safe and getting a second chance in life. The only thing he needs now is a new family. Baekdoo is a medium sized fur ball of fun weighing at 35lbs. Baekdoo is neutered and up to date on vaccinations. Baekdoo is extremely friendly and well mannered. He would make the perfect companion for an individual or a family. He does not have experience around cats, but he does get along well with other dogs. FOSTER OR FOREVER HOME NEEDED: Introducing Nikko! He is an awesome 2-year-old, 75lb Akita/Golden Retriever mix who came to us from an overcrowded shelter in CA. He is an amazing dog that is going to make a great adventure companion and addition to any lucky household that adopts him. Nikko gets along well with others, has done great with other dogs in our care, and is always in a great mood. He walks very well on a leash and does not pull much. He is a very well-balanced dog of being calm yet also able to be active when you need him to be. He is mellow for the most part, except when he sees grass in which he loves to go crazy and roll around in it! He is very sweet, loving, and will make a loyal companion. Nikko would make a great additional dog in a home, or he would be fine as an only dog with continued socialization. He also does great getting groomed and his nails trimmed, as he is a very patient and trusting dog with his handler. And who couldn’t love that big fluffy bear head and those adorable ears?! He walks very well on leash, is treat motivated, and is up for any adventure. Meet Kai, an 8-year-old, 89 lb, Akita with a heart as big as his paws. This well-mannered gentleman excels in house manners, already knows how to use the bathroom outside, and is proudly crate trained. He enjoys his daily walks where he gets to smell lots of cool smells and meet new people. He also relishes his nap times (if you’ve got a rug, he’ll be so pleased). Though he’s not a fan of baths, Kai is a champ when it comes to being brushed and having his nails trimmed. He does eat and drink pretty fast - so he prefers puzzle feeders and slow drinking, anti-spilling water bowls to keep his tummy from getting upset. Always eager to greet you with a wagging tail at the door, Kai is a loving companion who brings joy and warmth to every day! Kai is UTD on vaccinations, microchipped and neutered. His adoption fee is $300.
