Story
Meet our big goofy guy named Bongo! Bongo is about 6 years old, and he is an American Bulldog mix. Bongo came to us after his owner lost his home and he had nowhere to take Bongo. In his kennel, Bongo is a bit sad looking, but once he is out with us, he is a really happy and doofy boy! He is a large dog weighing about 80 lbs. Bongo loves to get attention and get butt scratches. He is middle aged and has some older dog lumps and bumps on him. He is a nice dog who would love to have a home with a family to love up on him! Bongo has shown he is friendly with other dogs and he is playful with them if they are friendly towards him. He can go to a home with children 12 years old and older. If you are interested in adopting Bongo, Please Email us at Adopt@savingpawsct.org for an application! His adoption fee is $75.00. PLEASE CHECK YOUR EMAIL SPAM FOLDER! MAC IS OPEN 7 DAYS A WEEK (M-F 8-4pm) (Sat-Sun 10-4pm) Applications must be submitted and approved BEFORE a meet and greet can be scheduled to meet an animal. Appts to meet dogs can made to suit your schedule, please email/call for an appt. We do prefer to be contacted by email for adoption inquiries at Adopt@savingpawsct.org. The office phone number is 203-235-4179. Leave a message, and someone will call you back promptly. PLEASE CHECK YOUR EMAIL SPAM FOLDER! You must be 21 years of age to adopt with valid ID. There is a short application for adoption, however if you do not own your home, or you own a condo, we must speak with your landlord or housing association giving permission to dogs/cats. Bully breed specific permission is required if you rent or own a condo. If you own your home, proof of home ownership is required. If there are other pets in the home they must be licensed (if a dog) and up to date on vaccinations. If there is another dog in the home a dog interaction must be done at the shelter before adoption, to ensure the safety and well being of all pets. All children in the home need to be declared and brought down to meet the animal. Applications must be submitted and approved BEFORE a meet and greet can be scheduled to meet an animal. An approved application does not guarantee an adoption. We do not hold animals for meet and greet appointments. ALL ANIMALS ARE SPAYED AND NEUTERED BEFORE THEY GO HOME. Story
Meet our local celebrity, Dora the Explorer! Dora is around 3 years old and she weighs around 58 lbs. Dora was spotted for over 1 year traveling a wide area and numerous concerned citizens became concerned that Dora had lost her way and her family. A group of volunteers made it their mission to rescue Dora. After being caught it was evident that at some point she had a family that loved her because she knew many commands and was proving to be a very intelligent girl. Dora is very playful. She bonds to her humans very quickly and would just love to be a couch potato when she is not out in the yard entertaining herself or having fun playing fetch. Her foster family has several older dogs and Dora seems fine with them, however, Dora would do great as well, as a single dog family because she loves her people! Any questions about her can be answered by her foster mom and we can put you in touch with her. Dora is ready to travel when the perfect home is found for her. Story
Meet Daisy. She is a 2 year old bulldog mix with stunning hazel eyes that will melt your heart and lots of energy with a playful personality. She loves to cuddle up on the couch with her human and snore the day away. Daisy loves being around you wherever you are and is treat motivated and a quick learner! She knows basic commands such as “sit down”, “stop”, “no”, “yes” and “let’s go”. She is crate trained, potty trained and loves to ride in the car, especially if a pup cup is involved. Daisy can be startled by new things in her environment so it’s best that her furever home keeps up with training and redirecting her so that she can comfortably acclimate to her new environment. She was originally found on her own in a very rural part of Arkansas, she has acclimated well and feels comfortable when her people are near. Daisy prefers to be the only dog in a home because of how much she loves her humans. Daisy loves nothing more than to please her people, she will make an amazing addition to your home. Daisy is hw ( heartworm) negative (heartworm treated), fully vetted, spayed/neutered and microchipped. Please fill out an application at www.northboundrescue.com

Story
Meet Mia ❤️❤️. There are some dogs that take on extra big part of your heart because they are so special. Mia is one of those dogs. Mia came into rescue emaciated, had been hit by a car, had a broken jaw, severe eye injury and 7 little roly poly babies she was taking care of. Mia was the most amazing mom, always putting the needs of her babies first. Her foster will never forget the day Mai and the babies were rescued, you could see Mia’s relief, she had a full belly, was warm and safe, she snuggled into her foster and slept the soundest sleep (complete with pibble snores). Mia’s pups have since found their Pawfect families, it was them her turn to be loved, spoiled and medically cared for. Mia did have to have her left eye removed, she was treated for heartworm, spayed and her jaw was evaluated. Her jaw had already healed and we did not want to put her through an extra surgery and more pain. Her jaw is slightly askew and her tongue may hang out when she is tired, believe me.. it does not stop her at all. She loves treats and squeaky toys are her favorite! Mia is a short petite gal and yes she is a little chonky (all the more to love). During her initial months in foster care we noticed sometimes she listened and other times she paid no mind…could she be d rag as well? Yes, Mia is deaf. This sweetest silliest of girls has risen above everything life has thrown her and she has nothing but love and silly wiggles to give you. When she sees you she bursts into her tippy toe dance, her whole body wiggles and she leans into you for full body snuggles. Mia is not the “unicorn dog” she is our phoenix. She has risen from injuries, motherhood as stray, losing and eye and being deaf. She has more love to give than any dog we have ever met. So who is Mia today? Mia is an amazing petite hippo with a dash of adventure. She gets along well with other dogs (we suggest a home with a mild mannered resident doggie). Mia loves her blankets doggie beds and toys.. she especially loves moving them all about so they are to her liking. She prefers soft treats and loves a little wet food in her kibble. Mia adores children, especially if they play with her. She will do zoomies when she is super excited, they only last for a few minutes then she prefers to snuggle and get her back scratched. Mia is crate trained and leash trained as well as housebroken. Mia may be considered special needs, we know how truly special this loving sweet girl is Mia is hw ( heartworm) negative, fully vetted, spayed/neutered and microchipped. Story
Meet Kickstand! Kickstand is always the man of the hour. He never gets enough attention or pets. His little black nose is great for boops. He’s a ladies man and great with kids. You can’t help but talk baby talk to him. I can already hear you saying…”Who’s a big boy?”, “Wook at my wittle baby!” He loves a treat but your fingers are safe. He’s gentle to take them from you. He does jump with excitement if you’ve been gone too long but then he calms down so you can give him the love he demands. He/she is hw ( heartworm) negative, fully vetted, spayed/neutered and microchipped. Please fill out an application at www.northboundrescue.com
