Story
NALA Female, spayed 2 years and 10 months old American Bulldog mix 60 lbs. Microchipped, up-to-date on core vaccines and takes monthly flea/tick/heartworm prevention Sweet Nala was surrendered to a noisy, scary shelter with her six 4-week old puppies and was bewildered over what, why and how.  We immediately came to their rescue and could only do that because an amazing foster family said YES to the call. Nala was the BEST mama to her puppies!  She loves playing fetch and tug-of-war and when playtime is over, she enjoys her quiet time snuggled up on her favorite chair.  She knows sit, paw and down. Nala loves giving kisses once she warms up to you and is gentle taking treats. She's very sweet towards kids, even toddlers and hasn't exhibited any resource guarding with people.  She doesn't seem to have much of a prey drive and has only shown mild curiousity towards her foster's chickens. She enjoys her toys, but doesn't destroy anything that's not hers. Nala successfully completed a board-and-train program where she learned how to relax in environments where there's a lot of activity like stores and cafe's and also to help her get over her discomfort around men that she doesn't know.  Her trainer has wonderful things to say about her temperament and will provide a complimentary one-on-one session to whoever adopts her.   New Foster Home Update:  Nala completed her board-and-train program with flying colors and is now settling into her foster home. Here's what her foster mom has to say about Nala.... Nala loves having her nightly spa wipe and coconut oil rub down before bed. We do this to help relieve her skin allergies. She loves jumping in bed with me, ensuring she is touching at least the smallest part of me. The best part of it all she does not snore so we can all sleep in peace. Nala loves her morning playtime in the yard playing with her balls, followed up by her morning training and small breakfast. She then takes her mid-morning nap followed up by her lunchtime yard play or a walk stopping for lots of sniffs along the way. Nala loves her after-work meal and play time of us spending hours playing ball and tug-of-war. Squeaky toys are her favorite toy to play with all day long. Nala will be a wonderful addition to a loving active person or family. She is eager to learn and to show you what she knows already with pride and excitement. Nala can easily fit right in with your daily routine. I will say, just have stock in heavy duty chew toys and balls because she will be ready to run, jump and play alone or with you.   Interested in adopting? Of course you are! Story
Marshmallow was found running down a busy road, in and out of traffic. He was rescued, rehabbed and we adopted him into our pack (making 3). Marshmallow is great with kids, a fast learner, great snuggler, and an absolute character. Following the passing of one our oldest dog, Marshmallow and our other dog began fighting. Because we have two young children, we do not have the capacity to deal with this. Marshmallow is such an incredible dog who deserves a family and a chance in life.

Story
Female, approx. 5 years old, 46 lbs Personality: playful, easygoing, affectionate, snuggler, and outgoing. Hi Folks! I am Muffin, and who doesn't love a good muffin? I am a calm and friendly pooch who just loves being around people and other dogs. I like to stop and visit with neighbors along my route, and I especially enjoy gently getting pets from the one year old girl who lives nearby. It's fun to snuggle up in the crate and nap with the other dog in my foster home, but I'd be happy to be your only dog too. I have adorable quirks -- I get all wiggly when I know something great is about to happen, like going for a walk or eating food! I adapted quickly to my foster home, and am house and crate trained. I'm proud to report that my foster says I'm the easiest dog she's ever had. If you're looking for someone to accompany you out and about, I'm quite well-behaved at restaurant patios. I'd love to go for a walk together so you can observe firsthand my calm yet playful demeanor. I bet one look into my eyes will melt your heart. So let's make a date: your new favorite Muffin awaits. I hope you will apply to meet me -- I'm sure to be your favorite morning Muffin! If you are interested in meeting a dog or cat, we require an adoption application. Story
Male, 4.5 years, 70 lbs. Personality: easygoing, outgoing, playful, loyal, energetic, affectionate, adventurous, mischievous, and adaptable. Rocco is the epitome of a love bug, always eager to join in on the fun whether it's playing in the yard or cuddling on the couch watching TV. His adaptable nature means he can match your energy level, whether you're seeking a playful companion or a laid-back snuggle buddy. While he enjoys his adventures in the back yard, he's equally content relaxing indoors, taking cues from his human companions. With his adventurous spirit and affectionate personality, Rocco will bring joy and laughter to his forever home. Rocco has shown himself to be a well-behaved and loving companion at home. He is still learning what to do with a ball, but delights the young children in his foster home by playing in the house and the yard. He's gentle with the kids and is more than happy to clean up any food they accidentally drop on the floor! Rocco has made great progress on house training, does well in his crate, and already knows the words "no," "sit," and "crate". He definitely shows a willingness to learn and grow. Rocco loves toys, especially chew toys, and they keep his mind stimulated throughout the day. Rocco is choosy with his canine friends and would do best as the only pet in your home, with a fenced yard big enough for him to run and play in. If you're ready for a loyal and energetic companion, Rocco just might be the match for you. If you are interested in meeting a dog or cat, we require an adoption application. I aquired him through an online app a lady could not keep him because he likes to jump and she has 2 autistic children. I took him to prevent him from going into a shelter. I have a 4yr old pomeranian and she does not like him at all. I have tried to rehomed him with other families but from a lady with hip problems to another pit being too aggressive. It just hasn't worked out but. I can't keep him he's terrorizing "playing" with my dog who does not want to play with him at all. He's a year and 2 months.

Story
We have had Aspen for 5 years. He is absolutely wonderful with my kids, and normally is a sweet, gentle dog. However he is constantly trying to get out the front door to run. We have a smaller yard and I think it just isn’t enough space for him. He is also very aggressive with other dogs he doesn’t know, so when he gets out it is concerning because we don’t want him to run into another dog. However we do have another dog who he gets along with great, it is just dogs he doesn’t know that he has behavioral problems with. He was not well socialized so gets aggressive. However he is the absolute sweetest dog around our family because he knows us. Because of the constant concern of him darting out of the house if one of the kids leaves the door open we have had to confine him to small areas of the house and yard. We are looking for a home for him that can offer the space and time he needs and deserves and are picky to make sure he goes to the right home.

APPLICATION LINK: https://shaynesrescue.com/adoption-application/ We must have an application to move forward. (Shayne's Rescue is an affiliate with PetCentralSATX). If there are problems with the website, please email me for help. SCOOBY is a big boy...at least 66#. His estimated DOB is 1/5/2020...so he is almost 4 yrs old. He is a very FUN dog and loves playing with other dogs but he is exuberant and easily intimidates smaller dogs. He would be a great companion dog for a large breed dog. He loves everyone and just wants to play. He has not had in-house training...in a shelter with lots of dogs, the big ones don't necessarily get the royal treatment. He has been leash-trained and loves to go on walks. After he get rid of the initial excitement about going out, he walks gently on the leash. I do not trust him with a cat. If it runs, he will chase. He sees them as lots of fun. Scooby would be great with a family with older children. Smaller ones would probably get knocked down during playtime. He needs a home with large back yard, I would not recommend him for an apartment. Check out our YouTube Video: https://youtu.be/KD9BUCFmQCs This dog is CURRENTLY IN TEXAS and available for pre-adoption. Adoptions include neuter/spay, vaccinations (DHPP, Bordetella, Rabies), microchip, health certificate, transport with our professional dog transporter, and 6 mos of heart worm prevention. If you have any questions or would like an e-mail from us as to how all of this works, text me (Terry); identify the dog's name and give me your email address... 210-394-6060. You can also go to our Facebook page... https://www.facebook.com/Pet-Central-SATX-866684826744181/ and LIKE us to help us out. After we review your application, we will contact you, and you'll have the opportunity to find out more from the rescue. If you experience any issues filling out the application you can contact us directly at petcentralsatx@gmail.com. This is ONLY if you have problems applying. If you have not applied, you will not receive a response so please only email if you have any issues applying. Adoption Fees The adoption fee includes transportation to the NE. All pups and dogs are fully vetted, spayed/neutered, microchipped, dewormed, have a negative heart worm test for all dogs over 6 months at time of transport, have a health certificate, and have all age-appropriate vaccinations. Some dogs/pups have additional medical, including but not limited to FHO, ACL, hernias, dental, and other vetting. All medical records will be provided to the adopter at the time they pick up their dog. This is a post on behalf of Pet Central SATX Rescue, headquartered in San Antonio, Texas, where there are over 350,000 homeless pets. We have hundreds of puppies/dogs available so there really is no need to apply anywhere else. Also, one application is good even if you are interested in several different dogs...one application no matter which one you choose. Thank you for choosing to adopt a rescue pup/dog. We firmly believe there is NO breed other than "rescue" for all species. Thank you for being part of the village it takes to save these precious lives.

BEAN Male, neutered 11 months old Boxer/Pit bull mix 47 lbs. Microchipped, up-to-date on core vaccines and takes monthly flea/tick/heartworm prevention Meet Bean. This adorable little guy has already stolen our hearts. This sweet boy came to us underweight and sick, but with lots of love and care, he has blossomed into a healthy and happy pup. We discovered soon after Bean's arrival to our rescue that he has a luxating patella (grade 2/4) which does not require surgery at this time and possibly never will, so we've decided to let Bean be a dog and enjoy his boyhood years without the pain and restriction that surgical recovery entails. Bean's favorite pastime is playing with his squeaky rubber duck. You'll often find him running around, squeaking away with joy. He also loves chasing tennis balls and enjoying a Kong filled with spray cheese which is one of his absolute favorite treats. A close second is his newfound obsession with watermelon!  Foster mom even makes watermelon popsicles for cool him down on hot days. He has also recently discovered how much fun it is to play with water squirting out of the hose and tries to catch it in his mouth.  Bean is a playful and energetic pup who would thrive in a home where he can run around and play with his toys. He is friendly and loves to snuggle up to his humans while chewing on a bone. Bean is well-behaved, knowing commands like sit and shake, and he is always eager to learn more. Come meet this sweet boy and see for yourself what a wonderful addition he (and his duck) would be to your family! Interested in adopting? Of course you are!
