*This dog is located in the Niagara area*Apply to adopt at rebeldogrescue.com*Hey yall, Im Otis! One of my hobbies is napping, whether it be on your carpet or in your lap. I weigh 76 lbs, but weighted blankets are a thing these days right!? I love being outdoors but short walks are my thing as I get tired easily. I would like to say that Im a total love bug once I get to know you! Otis has embarked on a board & train program following minor bite incidents so that we could learn more about how we can help Otis succeed and become a well-balanced and confident dog. From Otis' trainer:After working with Otis in our board and train program we have discovered he is not an aggressive dog. Otis is nervous, sensitive and fearful. Mainly to new people and loud noises. He needs an owner who will continue his training. He has learnt place, leash walking, crate training, sit, recall, release command, waiting at thresholds and waiting for food. Otis responds well to a calm, confident leader and is already e-collar and muzzle trained! He needs someone to help with his decision making and continue to use his tools to assist him in that. He is not a high energy dog so the walks and keeping his training up is all he needs. Otis will also need an owner who advocates for him, so that means making sure not to let strangers walk up on him. He is unsure of loud noises and even the vacuum cleaner. We continue to teach Otis how to walk away when he feels nervous instead of becoming defensive. This is another example of advocating for him. His new must be stepping in when he feels nervous and getting him to a place where he feels confident and safe. Otis is looking to put his bite history in the past. We are confident with the right owner he will be successful and make a wonderful companion!Name: Otis Weight: ~76lbsAge ~6.5 yearsGender: MaleBreed: American bulldog mixColour: WhiteMedical: Skin cancer removal on genital area. *This dog is scheduled to arrive in Grimsby, Ontario on Saturday, March 22, 2025*Apply to adopt at rebeldogrescue.com*All adoptions with Rebel Dog Rescue have a 15 day probation period. Read about our adoption process on our website. Golden is such a goofy girl. She is reserved in the kennel, walks well on the leash, readily allows pets all over and has been friendly with everyone shes met. She is a bit shy at first and will take new situations slowly and cautiously until she sees that youre her friend. Once she gets comfortable Golden really comes alive and wants nothing more than to be in your lap.Golden is crate-trained, house-broken, and has done wonderfully with children - she instinctively knows how to be gentle when needed. She is curious and observant, always analyzing her surroundings. Initially she is shy, but with reassurance she quickly warms up and is ready to explore and play. Golden has interacted well off leash in the yard with other dogs, and just like with new people, goes slow at first until she gets comfortable. Once she is comfortable she loves playing chase in the yard. Golden was adopted a few months ago but brought back to the shelter for not co-existing well with the cats in the home. She has shown no signs of separation anxiety, and would happily sleep or chew on her bone when her owner had to go to work. She perks up with excitement when her people return home, and will happily follow you around. Golden can be easily startled by loud noises or a lot of commotion, so a home without too much hustle and bustle would be best for her. Overall, Golden is an amazing, loveable and calm companion who will adapt to her new home easily with love, patience and confidence building. Read about our adoption process on our website. This sweet and intelligent girl is about 3 years old and shes eager to please. Shes friendly and outgoing with both men and women, approaching with a happy tail wag and a love for affection. While she hasnt been around young children, she would likely do very well in a home with kids familiar with dogs, where she can play and be part of an active family.Brulee enjoys the company of other dogs, especially those around her size, and she co-exists well with canine friends. Shes used to frequent leash walks due to her time in an apartment and does well on a leash, though she can be strong and occasionally reactive when passing other dogs. A little continued training will help her master those skills.Shes almost fully house-trained, crate-trained, and settles quickly. With medium energy, she enjoys regular exercise and playtime but also knows how to relax and unwind with her people. One unique thing about Brulee is a slight malformation in her left shoulder, from an old healed injury. However, x-rays and examinations confirmed that shes in no pain, and it doesnt slow her down - she runs, jumps, and plays just like any other dog!Brulee would thrive in an active home with a fenced yard and plenty of space to run and play. HERE IN CANADA COME MEET HER My granny used to look at my pretty white coat and my soft brown eyes and tell me that I was the diamond in the coal mine. "Never worry, Raye," she'd say, "with a face that pretty there's always going to be a home for you!" I sure hope granny was right, cause boy oh boy! I could use a home about now. I'm looking forward to buckling down and excelling at doggy classes and hopefully making you so proud of me, that you'll never let me go! I need a home without children and without other dogs. Name: Rayse Weight: 60 lbs Age: 3 years Gender: Female Breed: American Bulldog mix Color: White/Brown Good With Adults: People selective Good With Kids: no Good With Other Dogs: Prefers to be the only dog Good With Cats: No, she has high prey drive Housebroken: Yes Crate trained: Yes Energy Level: Medium Can be handled/touched: Yes Barker: some, when she's scared Escape Artist: Yes Food Aggressive: With other dogs Walks on Leash: Pulls Rides well in car: Yes Destructive: no Needs a home with a yard: Yes Needs a home with another dog-Prefers to be the only dog Can live in an apartment: No. Needs a fenced in yard to play in. Foster comments: She barks when she's scared, but as we've been working on her sense of security and confidence, it's happening less and less. For introductions to new adult humans, it's best if it's done outside when she isn't startled by their arrival. She warms up very quickly and is very friendly and playful. Training Update: This girl has come so far in her training and learning to trust people, she is doing basic trainingright now with one of our trainers and is doing great!! Rayse is part of our dog walking group and everyone that takes her on adventures absolutely adore her. When she is in a home she has a few fears but with a patient adopter that will show her leadership she will do very well , Rayse loves to be praised for good behavior and really wants to please . This gir has overcome some really big obstacles in the past few months and is now ready for her happy ending . She would excel in a quite home with lots of love and walks ( she loves the water ) the beach is her favorite. She is on special food which is only 60.00 for a 25lb bag and she is worth it . This girl really deserves her happy tail ending . Come meet her and lets take her for walk and you will see what all of us see!!!

HERE IN CANADA COME MEET HIM Must have bulldog experience Name: Stallone (20210614-02) Weight: 70lbs Age: 4 years Gender: Male Spayed/Neutered: Neutered Breed: American Bulldog/Lab mix Colour: Black/White Neck size (for collar): medium martingale collar Chest circumference (for harness): Height (from top of head): Length (from nose to base of tail): Crate size recommended: 36” Good with women: Yes Good with men: Yes Good with kids: No Good with other dogs: No Good with cats: Lived in a home with cats, but he does chase them, never allowed it to get to the point of interaction. Dog savvy cats might be ok, but likely better in a home without cats House trained: Yes Crate trained: He needs a crate to sleep in and self soothe in. Will go in on his own but runs out if he thinks you'll close the door. Energy level: Moderate. He enjoys daily walks and outside playtime but also enjoys lounging and hanging out. Can be handled/touched: if indoors, only once he’s comfortable, then absolutely enjoys being petted. If he is anxious, he does not like being touched on his head or neck, and he will growl. Best to watch for the warning signs and only pet if he’s okay with it. If he’s outdoors, he appears more confident and is okay with being pet. Barker: He can demand bark at times when he wants to do something such as go outside or when he’s left for an extended period of time. Flight risk: No Food aggressive: No Current food: He will eat any dog food as long as it’s mixed with a little bit of wet food in the start. Slowly start to decrease wet food and he’ll start to eat the dry on its own Walks on leash: needs a front-clip harness, as does not walk well on flat collar. He’s a great walker on a front clip harness. Leash reactive to people or dogs: He gets excited to see people he knows and will bark for their attention. Reactive, no. Rides well in car: Doesn’t love the car. Barks the entire time. He has not had enough time to practice many car rides, so there’s opportunities for improvement Destructive: No. Needs a home with a yard: That would be great but we don’t believe he needs it. He enjoys walks. Needs a home with another dog: no, he should be the only dog Can live in an apartment: No. He is too vocal for an apartment or condo building Some information to note from our experiences: Stallone is incredibly affectionate, playful, and silly. He enjoys playing with toys, people, and other dogs. He was in playgroups with many other dogs and did very well. He did not appreciate a spray bottle being used on another dog and barked/growled at the lead handler in the yard. He did not progress beyond barking/growling. We would recommend training based on rewarding desired behaviors and responding to negative behaviors by removing a wanted thing rather than adding a punishment. Stallone is used to trading toys our behavior coordinator has not noticed any guarding behavior but recommends continuing the swapping/trading method for retrieving toys. Stallone enjoys chew bones, Vienna sausages (as rewards). Updated foster comments: Stallone loves to attach himself to one person and follow you everywhere. He is extremely loving to those he trusts. He'd be ideal for a couple or single person without kids. He walks amazing. He licks a lot and is so excited to see you when you come home. Though very anxious he is not destructive and just lays and waits for you to come home. Only whining for a few minutes. He plays rough with dogs but loves to play. He's a wonderful dog. Kids heighten his anxiety, so he needs a home without small kids. Whoever gets him will get a great dog.

Introducing Axel: The Energetic Pup Ready for His Fresh Start! (case #01-06-OTC-06) Meet Axel, an 8-month-old American Bulldog cross with a heart as big as his paws! This playful, curious pup arrived as an unclaimed stray with his brother, and while they share a similar temperament, Axel is ready to find his own path and start a brand-new adventure with his forever family. Axel is a smart, spirited young dog who has a lot to learn, but he’s eager to soak up knowledge and grow. He’s got a wonderful, friendly nature, but like any young pup, he’ll benefit from some training classes to help him become the well-mannered companion he’s meant to be. With the right guidance and consistency from his new family, Axel will thrive and become the confident, well-behaved boy we know he can be. A wise and steady dog in his new home would be a perfect mentor for Axel, helping him learn the ropes and adjust to his new routine. Axel is also a great candidate for a home with small animals and cats, as long as introductions are done slowly and carefully. His friendly nature makes him a promising match for households with other pets. One thing to keep in mind: Axel has a serious appetite! He arrived with an eagerness for food, and while there are no signs of food guarding at this time, he’ll benefit from a foster or adopter who is willing to work on food games and trading exercises to help him build confidence and prevent any potential issues down the line. Axle is currently in a foster home with a cat and a senior dog. He is respectful of their space and is doing well sleeping in a crate at nighttime. He is a fast learner and is catching on quickly, learning that he cannot put his paws on the counter or go on the couch. Axel may still be a work in progress, but his loving, curious nature is just waiting to shine with the right family. If you’re ready to invest time and patience into helping Axel grow into the best version of himself, he’ll reward you with endless love, loyalty, and joy. Ready to give Axel the fresh start he’s dreaming of? Complete an adoption application for this charming boy today and see how quickly he’ll steal your heart!

Meet Yoshi!! (case #02-03-200-01) Yoshi's Dating Profile: The Sweet, Gentle Bulldog Mix Looking for a Cuddle Buddy! Name: Yoshi Breed: American Bulldog Mix Age: 5 years young Likes: Long walks, playtime with furry friends, snuggling, belly rubs Dislikes: Ear infections (but who likes those?) Personality: Gentle, affectionate, smart, and laid-back Yoshi's Bio: Hey there, I’m Yoshi! I’m 5 years old, and I’ve got a heart full of love and a soft spot for cuddles. I came to the shelter as an unclaimed stray, but now I’m ready to find my forever family who’ll love me just the way I am. I’m a gentle giant, with a sweet, laid-back personality. I enjoy hanging out with the staff here, and I get along with my fellow dog friends—playtime is one of my favorite activities! I’m a smart boy too! I know plenty of tricks (ask me to sit, I dare you), but I could use some help with my leash manners—obedience classes will make us even more of a dream team! I’m super easy-going—no resource guarding here! I’m the type of guy who’s cool with sharing, and I promise I’m all about affection, not attitude. If you’re into long walks, we’ll be a perfect match. And when it’s time to chill, I’m all about snuggling up on the couch for a good cuddle session. I’m soft-tempered and affectionate, and I love being close to my humans. I’d thrive in an active household that enjoys walks and also values some downtime together. I’m looking for someone who can keep my mind stimulated with fun games and give me all the belly rubs I deserve after a good play session. So, if you’re looking for a sweet, loyal companion who loves to play and relax in equal measure, let’s meet! I promise to make your heart melt with my gentle nature and give you all the love you need. Let’s make some memories together! Bonus Features: Good with other dogs (after proper intros, of course!) Meet Baker!! (case #02-06-OTC-01) Name: Baker Age: 2 years old Breed: American Bulldog Cross Personality: Shy but sweet, affectionate, and playful Health: In good health but will need to be neutered Interviewer: Baker, you're a bit of a mystery! Can you tell us a little about yourself? Baker: Well, I was found as a stray, and I guess I’ve been a little unsure of the world since then. I’m still warming up to people, but once I trust you, I’m all about affection. I’m a bit shy at first, but give me some time, and I’ll be your best friend. I love running around outside, and I can be really playful once I get comfortable. Interviewer: What kind of home would you like to have, Baker? Baker: I need a family who understands that I’m still learning about the world and need some patience. A home with other dogs would be great because I really enjoy playing with them. I’d like someone who can take me on lots of walks and help me get the exercise I need. It’s important for me to have a lot of activity to keep me happy and healthy! Interviewer: What about your training needs? Baker: Well, I’m still learning a lot! I don’t know any commands just yet, and I tend to pull on the leash when I’m walked. But I’m a quick learner, and I would thrive in obedience classes! Positive reinforcement works wonders for me. I just need someone who can help me build confidence and teach me the right way to behave on a leash. Interviewer: It sounds like you're a fun dog with a lot of potential! What makes you special? Baker: I’m sweet and affectionate, and once I feel safe, I’ll shower you with love! I’m still a bit shy, but with time, I’ll open up and show you just how loyal I can be. I love to run and play, and I’d be the perfect companion for a family who loves the outdoors. And I think I’d really thrive with another dog to show me the ropes and help keep me active. Interviewer: Do you have any advice for potential adopters? Baker: If you’re looking for a loving, playful dog with a little bit of a shy side, I could be the one for you. I just need someone who’s patient and ready to help me build my confidence. In return, I promise to be your loyal buddy, always ready to run, play, and snuggle when the time is right! Conclusion: Baker is a sweet, affectionate boy with a lot of potential. He’ll need a family who’s committed to giving him exercise, training, and patience as he works on building his confidence and learning commands. If you’re ready to help this lovable pup become his best self, you won’t regret bringing Baker into your home!

Story
Little lovebug COLT is looking for his forever family! Colt is the happiest, most friendly, goofy and snuggle boy you'll meet! Colt lives for getting attention from his people and making them laugh! He's a happy go lucky boy who loves being included in everything! Colt is a bit nosey too - even if you want a little personal space, he doesn't really know what that means! Colt's ideal family wants to adopt a dog to be the center of their world! He lives to please his people... even if he doesn't always know what that means! Colt loves giving kisses, offering his bum up for bum rubs, and falling over for belly rubs. He offers a lot of appeasement behaviours like giving paw... which his foster home is working on curbing because sometimes he can accidentally scratch or paw too hard! Colt is a 0 to 100 kind of guy - he enjoys sprinting around the yard, has learned to walk well on leash with a prong collars or gentle leader, and then loves to snuggle up on the couch. He is initially excited when his people wake up or come home from work, but calms down quickly if his people are calm. If his people get him riled up, prepare for zoomies! Despite his initial energy, Colt is a real snuggle bug who wants to nap with his head on your lap on the couch, or be right beside you while you're cooking! Colt would thrive in an only-pet home. While he is capable of making friends with other large breed dogs, and currently lives with 3 other dogs, he would really do best being the center of his people's attention and get all their love! Colt is insecure meeting another dogs and shows tense body language, whale eyes, and a high tail. With very slow and proper introductions he can learn to relax around well balanced calm dogs, but he is such a people-oriented boy that we feel he would do best getting spoiled as an only-pet. Colt is too easily adrenalized around small animals, and needs a home without cats or small animals. He would do best in a detached home as well, as apartment building hallways and elevators can be unpredictable. He also resource guards around other animals, and is currently being fed separately without food or toys between him and his foster brothers. Colt loves food and loves to please, although he can be a slow learner sometimes. He does well with marker training, and having a patient handler who gives him time to figure out commands. He is working at duration during training, and not giving paw when excited. He has made so much progress on not jumping up, his leash skills, and sitting and waiting to be calm at doors before going outside. While Colt's training is coming along very nicely, we don't think he'll ever be obedient off-leash. Colt needs responsible owners who will not let him roam off leash, visit dog parks, or put him in situations that set him up for failure. Colt is looking for a forever home who will continue his training to help him become the best version of himself! Although Colt loves all people of all sizes, he would do best in an adult-only home where he can be the baby!! Not only does Colt want all of his furever home's time and attention, he can be a bit rambunctious at times and cause accidental injuries to small people with his happy wagging but strong tail, by giving paw at his people and smacking them, and by leaning on people for attention. If visiting small people or seniors, it may be best to keep Colt on leash to manage the amount of love that he gives people who might not be as stable on their feet! Colt's previous life was one of neglect, but we're looking to give him the best forever home who will spoil him endlessly! This big love bug loves belly rubs, kisses and just being beside his people. He is incredibly affectionate and wins over everybody that he meets! Colt is being fostered in Flamborough, Ontario. COLT FIRST IMPRESSIONS: 2yo (m) Bulldog X - 65lbs -Nervous, selective with dogs, needs proper introductions -No cats, small animals, small dogs -Loves all people, every stranger is his new best friend -Kids 15+. Colt likes kids, but is a lot of dog and likes to body-check and lean on people -Good on leash on prong or transitional slip leash (head halter) -Crate trained -Housetrained -Great food drive, loves training -Very affectionate -0-100 energy, no middle :) -Non-vocal -Good in car, likes to sit beside his people and get pets like a best friend (foster home has a van with no center console, so he can be right beside mom!) -Very smart, loves to please -Curious, likes to investigate everything!
