Story
This beautiful little girl is a bully, pit, and terrier mix also deaf, which makes me love her even more. We knew she would require a lot of work due to being deaf but we also knew that due to her breed, she would be difficult for an adoption, so we took her in. We moved her in when she was a puppy, so I had ZERO worries about our full-grown female German Shepherd. Unfortunately, that is no longer the case. My Shepherd attacked her and we are completely heartbroken on making this choice to re-home her. I've never had a dog who's more affectionate and loving, than Prim. She's incredible with kids but due to what happened with our Shepherd, I don't know if another dog is ideal for her. I'm open to questions and concerns, just reach out. I will be 200% transparent about her, so that you are not blind sided on anything. I just need her to go to a GREAT home that will work with her being deaf.

Story
Lady, affectionately known as Peppa Pig (or just Pig😉) is a happy-go-lucky, snorty, sweet 4 to 5 year old pit bull terrier. She loves to play in the water, zooming around the yard, and be with her people. She is crate trained and house trained. She responds well to training and is eager to please. She walks well on a leash and loves to be outside to get her sniffs and snorts in. She loves going to daycare and all of her people at daycare. She loves a routine and knowing what to expect. When she first came into rescue, she was very afraid of new people and situations and became pretty shut down. Since being in a foster home, she has gained confidence and has really started to blossom. She is learning that life is GOOD, and she doesn't need to be afraid. She is a sweet, sweet, goofy girl, and she can be talked through things when she is unsure instead of growling. We would like to see her in a home with a strong leader that will continue to keep her safe, that she can trust to be in charge. She is a strong girl at 78 pounds, especially if she is unsure of a person, another dog, or her surroundings. For this reason, we are recommending that for now she be an only dog and no children in order to keep everyone safe and keep her on the path to success. We would love to talk with a forever home about her and answer questions. This beautiful girl is so sweet and full of love. She is ready to have a furever home.

Story
We took Lucy in about a year and a half ago. A friend had gotten her from some people trying to get rid of her at a gas station. Not entirely sure about her backstory but she was likely bred and abused. She loves women but is not a fan of men. She has done alright with older children. The reason Im giving her up now is because she and our other dog have gotten too aggressive with one another and had some fights that make me believe its no longer safe to keep them together. Lucy has some separation anxiety and would likely benefit from some professional training. I would say an ideal home would be a woman with no other pets. She does alright with my boyfriend but she still barks at him when he comes home and is protective of me. I can give more info to anyone interested but Im trying to find somewhere safe for her to go quickly because I’m having to keep the dogs separated which means Lucy is in her kennel a lot.

🎶 Oh Mandy, baby, can’t you see? 🎶. Our girl Mandy has a little something for everyone! From spots to stripes, Mandy brings all the fun to wherever she is. She LOVES other canine friends and would really enjoy one in her forever home. She’s approx 1.5 years old and boasts house training and reluctant crate training (she tolerates the crate but doesn’t love it) on her resume. Mandy is looking for an active family with a fenced in yard. She’s been great with kiddos, however she is sometimes unaware of her size, so dog savvy kiddos are a plus! While her breed is a mystery, we think a Catahoula and a Pittie are likely in there, but who can be sure? Mandy would make an excellent running partner should you be an athletic type. Mandy is being fostered in Greeley, Colorado. *We require all adopters to come to Colorado to adopt. *We do not transport dogs. * You can view this wonderful dog at https://www.milehighcanine.org/post/dogs/mandy/. Story
Henley! This gorgeous girl with the stunning fawn merle coat comes to MHCR from a breeder/hoarder home in New Mexico. She’s said to be about a year old and is a Pittie mix. Henley is a tender soul. She is most comfortable with other dogs around and patient humans. Henley is a playful, sweet, curious girl that loves to find mischief and explore. She really enjoys playing with doggie friends and has done well with older kiddos (she hasn’t been around young ones but we don’t see an issue). Henley is crate trained and uses a doggie door, too! Henley wasn’t afforded the proper socialization as a pup so she’s skeptical of new people and takes time to warm up in a new environment. A quiet home with consistency and predictability will suit her quite well! Henley is being fostered in Bennett, Colorado. *We require all adopters to come to Colorado to adopt. *We do not transport dogs. * You can view this wonderful dog at https://www.milehighcanine.org/post/dogs/juno-3/. Story
Ozzy! Please meet our handsome, playful boy, Ozzy! Ozzy is a 1 year old, pit mix that’s approx 50-60 lbs. He is a dog’s dog and the perfect companion for someone whose dog needs a play friend. He will thrive in a home that’s calmer on the human front but all about the doggies. Ozzy snuggles with his people once they win his trust, but patience is the name of the game for him. He’s house trained, uses a doggie door, and is crate trained too. Ozzy has even learned that taking walks with his pack is pretty fun!
