Story
Leo is a 4 yr old terrier mix.  He weighs 88 lbs and is full of love and kisses.  He was  returned to us from being adopted as a puppy.  After living with a cat for 9 months, he decided he no longer liked the cat and has become dog selective.  Leo is  smart and listens very well.  He is house trained and doesn't need a crate.  Does good riding in the car.  Leo needs to get all the love and prefers home with no other animals.  Older kids would also be best as he doesn't know how big he really is.  Leo is slow to warm up, but with a little patience , he's all yours.  An experienced dog owner is required.  Please give this big guy a chance. He's a good boy just waiting for his forever home. If you are viewing this pet's profile on Petfinder or Adopt-a-Pet,.please use the application link at the bottom of the profile to apply. Clicking the "Ask About" button does not submit an application. It only submits a question which will delay an application submission.    All dogs are spayed/neutered, up to date on vaccinations, heartworm tested negative (age 7 months and older) and microchipped. We do not ship or transport. A dog's adoption donation is $200. There is a $5 fee for credit/debit cards. If you are interested in adopting one of our dogs, please fill out an online application here: www.heartlandsmallanimalrescue.org/canine-application.html ##1757626##

Story
?????????? (Longest resident since 12/29/23) 4 years 6 months good with dogs good with childrencrate trained Sasha has had a rough start to life. She was stolen for a long time from her family and bred, and then ended up at the shelter as a stray, not too long after being reunited. Sasha was a mandatory spay and her owners did not come back for her. Words from Sasha's foster:"Sasha is a good girl. She has been good in the home and quickly learned our routine and rhythms. She listens well and responds to redirection when necessary. She typically does well with recall although we have only worked on this in the fenced backyard. She is crate trained. Her people are most important to her. She is almost always wherever I am helping me do what I'm doing. She is a snuggler whether it's across our lap or just pressed close next to us. She's done well with all of our adult children when they have come over albeit jumping when they first arrive. She has also done well with our 20 month old grandson. She loves toys and will entertain herself with them. She especially likes nylabones. She also is a blanket girl. She has a strong personality and needs stimulation and exercise. She will run circles around the backyard as fast as she can to release some energy and she's fast. She did have about a five week adjustment period in learning how to live with our two dogs. Our male is pretty unflappable and with a couple of corrections she got it. She had a harder time adjusting to our female. We think it took her awhile to understand that she was not her competition. They are much better now and will often lay together."Heartworm negative, spayed, microchipped and up to date on all of my vaccinations. Adoption fee of $25 until July 31st.

Story
Stinkers· 11 months· 40 pounds· Dog friendly· Cat friendly · Good with children This is my second time in to the shelter. My first time I was a stray and this time I arrived to the shelter on 7/14/24. I was left out in a thunder storm with my brother Brinker. SBPD helped rescue me and cut a tight rope from around my neck until the animal control officer arrived. I was tied up to a tree and my brother was in a crate. We didn't have any food, water or shelter. The shelter was told we were out for 2 days, but they don't know for sure. The shelter found out my owner was out of town at the time, and suppose to have a pet sitter then no one showed up to reclaim us. Despite this situation, I am just the most up beat, sweetest and cuddliest soul. I do so well with dogs and cats. My brother and I share a kennel together and we are the best of buds. I would do great with another dog in the household. I'm just a well rounded sweetheart that would be a great addition to any home. I'm doing pretty well with potty training.

Story
Hero came to us after he was found by a local animal lover with 2 broken legs. This is a nice, friendly boy who is good with people, other dogs & cats. His approx. birth date is 01/01/18 and he currently weighs 41#. We did not see either parent and are guessing at breed based on physical attributes. We had both legs corrected at the price of $7000 and the results were great. The surgeon stated that the legs were broken most likely by a bat and that they were definitely broken at least 2 weeks apart. Someone did very bad things to this nice boy. Hero has been in foster and is House Trained. He has also graduated from basic obedience and is ready to move up to Dog 3 Obedience Class! Hero can be very possessive of his people and can be dog selective. We are recommending his as an only dog in an adult home. He has been vet. checked, neutered, micro chipped, is up to date on routine shots & wormings including rabies, and has been treated with flea & heart worm preventative per our protocol And heart worm tested negative. His adoption donation is $300 and needs to be cash, certified check, money order or a debit/credit card. There is a 3% processing fee when using a debit/credit card. We do not ship or transport. Please email for an application if you would like to provide this nice kid with his forever home. ##580807##

Story
Hi, I'm Princess. I'm a gentle, young pup who sometimes has an old soul. I love spending time with people. Sometimes I do have my zoomies and young dog energy! When I'm not zooming I just like to snuggle with people. I do need to be the only animal in the home. I prefer not to share a home with other dogs or cats. I would love to work with one of the trainers that All 4 Animal Rescue recommends! I will need someone who can commit to a training plan with one of the recommended trainers so that I can continue to make progress and be as successful as possible in my new home. A home that is low traffic and can give me time to decompress and learn a new routine paired with a training plan is ideal for me. I've been introduced to clicker training and go on decompression walks/hikes at a huge sniffspot and I enjoy it! I can't wait to meet you and start a new journey with my forever family. I hope to see you soon! Born 10/16/2021 - spayed - adoption fee 300 - No kids - No dogs - No cats - house broken   Fill out an application at all4animalsrescue.org ##1681726##

Story
Meet Poppy! This young, sweet pit bull terrier mix is ready to join your pack. She can be shy and a little nervous at first, but once she warms up, she is a total snuggle bug. She is timid around men, but is getting better since spending time in her foster home with a young man (who is now her favorite buddy). Slow integration to new dogs is a must, but once settled in, she does great with other dogs. In fact, she really enjoys playing with her foster families dogs. She has also done very well with young kids but all introductions need to be slow to give Poppy time to adjust to new situations. She is a lover and a snoozer! That alarm clock isn't going to stir her in the morning. So, if you are looking for a partner for a nap or a weekend sleep in, this is your girl. Poppy can't wait to meet you and begin making new memories with you. Born 06/05/2022- adoption price $250- medium-large sized at 60lbs- house broken - good with dogs  - good with kidsFill out an application at all4animalsrescue.org  ##1520156##

Story
Meet Hati! She is a big hearted girl seeking a big hearted friend. This sweet girl has had some rough patches in her life, but is as sweet as can be and looking for someone to give her scratches and love (and some treats). She is a very cuddly lady who enjoys her toys and zooming! She walks very nice on a leash and listens well. She makes the cutest little snort sounds when she is playing or getting petted. If you have a big heart and are looking for someone to dote on, then Hati is your girl.    A note from Hati: I came to All 4 Animals Rescue underweight while also dealing with a pretty bad skin condition. I will need to be on medication for the remainder of my life and a bath a few times a week to help my skin heal and keep it as healthy as possible! I might be a early senior, but I still have so much life to live! I really hope you can give me a shot!   Birthday 01/01/2018 - spayed - adoption fee $250 - cuddle bug - early senior - medicated for life and needs a few baths a week to maintain skin condition - possible arthritis in the rear legs/hips   fill out an application at all4animalsrescue.org ##1938925##

Story
Just one look at this guy and you can't help but wonder why he was given the name Chicken? We do not have a clue. He is a senior guy looking for a home to spend out the later years of his life with all the comforts that a loving home will provide. Chicken still has a good amount of energy, but at the end of the day, he would simply prefer to curl up in your favorite chair, if you will let him, or a plush dog bed. He would do best with older children and a quieter lifestyle since that is what he had in his prior home. Come meet this guy and check out his big soulful eyes.
