Story
Lady is a rambunctious, living, loyal, and very playful teen pup. She has high energy and loves to play and wrestle. We got her at 8wks, she was born Dec 29, 2022. Purchased from a breeder who had another liter coming soon. We decided to get her spontaneously and unfortunately we were not ready for a puppy. She was potty trained quickly and She is now 2 years old. She needs more extensive training that we cannot afford tight now. She completed a puppy class at Petsmart but she still needs more. She knows some commands like sit, stay, drop if, come, go home...

Archie is no comic...he is just comically silly, fun and easy to be around and as a result, arrived at the farm and is in the market for his furever home. Archie is a young adult pit bull mix dude who has a great red coat and weighs about 40 lbs now, making him a more squatty pibble and who doesn't lover snuggling up to one of them?? We do! Archie is ready to move into suburbia with cushy beds and lots of attention and spoiling. He has met a number of friends at the farm though may in the long term prefer being paired with a lady doggo friend. Archie has a good energy level that would work well with folks looking for hikes, regular walkies and adventures in general. With a face like this and ears to die for, Archie is a heartthrob waiting to happen. How about you make him your heart throb? **Volunteer Dog Walker feedback: "He loved being at the front of the pack or side by side with other dogs. He would lay down for belly rubs during water breaks and took treats gently from my hand.He will make a great addition to any family"! "Archie has that calm cool collective vibe. Also floppy cute ears 10/10". *Weekend Host feedback: " Archie sleeps soundly through the night, making him an easy and peaceful addition to any home. He enjoys his short walks, happily trotting along beside you, but he's just as content snuggling up on the couch. With his ideal medium size, Archie is the perfect fit for anyone looking for a loyal and loving friend".

We would LOVE to see Rumor in her furever home ASAP and as a result are waiving the adoption fee for prior adopters. Give this sweet girl the loving home she deserves, and she'll fill your life with endless joy and cuddles! Weekend Host Feedback: "Rumor is a delightful little friend and an absolute pleasure around the house - did not have a single accident. " "Her favorite thing is sleeping on the couch next to her people." "She is a good little walker - inquisitive but not insistent when she wants to explore on a walk. " "She is a people dog and is polite when meeting both adults and children. " "She also has excellent dog manners, allows other dogs to sniff her and is unaffected when passing dogs bark at her." "Not a fan of her crate at first but after a few minutes quiets down and sleeps peacefully through the night. " "She enjoys her time outside but does not need an excessive amount of exercise and is happy to stick close to you on walks!"

**Available starting Wednesday 7/17** Momma Sammi, short for Samsonite, is a true warrior! She was found, along with her 5 pups, abandoned in a suitcase when the puppies were only a few weeks old. She survived and has done a great job raising her puppies and is now ready for a home of her very own, leaving all the baggage behind! She is about 2 years old and weighs about 40lbs. Sami loves the outdoors, to play ball and is quite athletic. However, she is also very much a lapdog, is always so happy to sit with her friends and does not believe in personal space. She is a very food motivated and smart girl who catches on quickly and is eager to please. Sami is so very ready to have her own people and see what life is all about as a loved family member. **Volunteer Dog Walker feedback: "She is such a wonderful dog: friendly, happy, easy to be with. She attracted lots of attention from other hikers, who commented on her sweet eyes, her smiles, and her happy energy. Sammi is special! She will be a fabulous addition to some lucky family"!

Story
(DOB 02/13/2021) A smile from ear to ear - that's Cookie, alright!!  Have you ever seen such a happy face?  Cookie (aka Oreo Cookie) is a quirky and silly pup that is guaranteed to brighten your day. She just loves to snuggle up to you and spread her warmth and joy.   She is always up for a good romp and playtime with kids who can keep up with her energy level. Whether it's chasing balls or exploring the outdoors, she will keep you entertained and active. She loves all kinds of toys. In addition to her playful spirit, this sweet girl has a heart full of love for her human companions, showering them with affectionate and slobbery snuggles. There will never be a dull moment with this delightful bundle of joy by your side. Plus, she can pull out the big, ole puppy dog eyes that you won't be able to resist! If you're looking for a four-legged companion who will fill your days with laughter, love and endless entertainment, look no further than than Oreo Cookie! Adopt this love ball today and let the adventures begin. Cookie wants a fenced (4ft+) yard in her new home; she loves being outside. She uses a doggie door at her forster mom's house and loves being able to go in and out. She is learning to walk nicelfy on a leash with positive reinforcement training and patience. Cookie will sit on command and knows to sit nice in order to be fed. She is friendly with new people and friends that have come around. She also loves car rides and going places. So if you want a road trip companion, she would be a great choice. We think she would be fine as an only dog. If you have another pup, they have to be ready to handle her rough style of play. Remember slow introductions with new family members is best she may need a home with older children as she has a lot of happy, playful energy and she may accidently knock over kids. As part of Cookie's $300 adoption fee, she will be spayed, microchipped, up to date on age appropriate vaccines, and current on his monthly flea/tick and heartworm preventatives. If you have questions about this sweet little boy, you can email Dogteam@pawsforlifenc.org.  If you wish to adopt Cookie, you can fill in an online application for him under the Adopt a Pet Tab on our website:  www.pawsforlifenc.org. ##1681533##

Story
(05/21/2022) Please meet little Ms. Penelope Pittie-Won't-Stop! She is happy-go-lucky girl. Not short, but fun-sized... a solid low-rider (approx 52 pounds) who always has love in her heart and a smile on her face. She is seeking a stable relationship in a household that will provide her endless biscuits, bones and crinkle toys. She is a wild and crazy girl who is energetic at playtime. Her ultimate human would look forward to her daily wet willies and be available to stroke her soft pink belly until she falls into a deep, snoring sleep on their lap.  Potential female adopters need to be secure and confident in their own skin because Penelope says, "don't hate me because I'm beautiful." Her unique markings give her what almost looks like a crooked little heart shaped nose! She is white, grey and pink! Her fur is mostly all white (although she has some scattered spots and freckles) except for a dark grey left ear and two adorable matching grey stripes on her tail. Her short hair means you can see the pink skin underneath, especially on her belly and around her face and ears. She also has the most fabulous white eyelashes! She walks well on a leash for the most part, but her low center of gravity means she can have a strong pull if she spots a squirrel or lizard. Their quick movement triggers her instinct to chase. She is not aggressive and does not mean any harm, but she doesn't know her own strength, so no weaklings on the other end of the leash. Potential adopters should not have young children as she may knock them over with her joyful excitment, but older children would be great. Her current foster family provides her a mom and dad, plus 5 fur siblings ranging in sizes from chihuahua to small pony, and she gets along with all of them. (She is also ok with cats but will chase them.) Her favorite playmate is another PFL foster named Jess. Jess is a tall skinny hound mix, and they are always wrestling, mouthing and being vocal, and rough-housing or stealing each other's toys.  It's quite entertaining to watch. Sweet Penelope doesn't require another dog in the home but it would be bonus. A 4ft-5ft fence would be another great find at her new home so she'd have the ability to run and play to burn off any excess energy. A home, apartment, condo or townhome would all be good for sweet, adorable Penelope as long as she has someone who is definitely willing and able to keep her busy with playtime, walks and fun activities. Other noteworthy and great things about Penelope, she is house trained, crate trained, enjoys car rides but may try and share the front seat with you if she isn't securely fastened in her seat. Wherever you take her, she is bound to be the hit of party! She just has the face and the smile that radiates joy and people are naturally attracked to her. She loves everyone she meets and is happy to get a little bit more love and affection! Ms. Penelope is adaptable... she will sleep on top of you, next to you or all alone on a cushion, even the bare floor or in a crate. She is well-mannered, but does need some work on commands. Her adopter(s) will be very lucky to have her as loyal and entertaining member of their family. Just looking at her sweet face makes you smile! Come meet her at an adoption event. As part of Penelope’s $300 adoption fee, she will be spayed, microchipped, up to date on age-appropriate vaccines, and current on her monthly flea/tick and heartworm preventatives. If you have questions about this sweet little girl, you can email  Dogteam@pawsforlifenc.org.  If you wish to adopt Penelope, you can fill in an online application for her under the Adopt a Pet Tab on our website:  www.pawsforlifenc.org. ##2065455##

Story
Molly would thrive in a home with another playful dog, a full toy box, and a fenced in yard to run in. She loves playing with her toys and any dogs or people that she can win over. She is young and has a lot of fun-loving, party all time, kind of energy, so she is definitely looking for a person/family that has a spunk and lively lifestyle. Even though Molly would love a furry friend in her home and fenced yard, neither of those things are required. She loves everyone she meets so as long as she has plenty of play time, walks/jogs, attends doggie daycare, etc., she will be a happy girl!! Happy - YES! Loveable - YES. Cute - YES! Molly is being fostered in a home with kids. While she currently lives with kids, she'd do best if the kids in her home were ~ 8 years old or older due to her enthusiastic personality, and she may accidently knock a little one over. Molly has not had an opportunity to meet kitties. She goes out to play and potty in the fenced yard multiple times per day and sleeps nicely in her kennel at night. You know what else Molly loves?? She is a super fan of the car, and like everything else, she makes an ordinary event anything but dull!! Young Molly is also well behaved on a leash and would love a family that will continue to take her for daily outings! She loves being out and about and meeting new people or other dogs; she just loves everyone. So if you are social butterfly, yourself, then Molly would be a perfect sidekick! She is all about saying "HELLO" to everyone on the street! Due to her young age, Molly is still a little mouthy and nippy; which is common at her age. With a good amount of daily exercise, a variety of toys and chewy toys, and proper redirection, she can move past this phase of puppyhood successfully. We think Molly would happy in just about any kind of house. She finds the positive around every corner, so a big house, small house, apartment, condo, townhome...yes, yes, yes. She just wants to call it HOME. Molly will be the sunshine in your day and will greet you each and every time you come home with big smiles, wiggle butt, and lots of love to share! Don't pass this sweet, sweet girl by! As part of Molly’s $300 adoption fee, she is spayed, microchipped, up to date on age-appropriate vaccines, and current on her monthly flea/tick and heartworm preventatives.  If you have questions about this sweet little girl, you can email  Dogteam@pawsforlifenc.org.  If you wish to adopt Molly, you can fill in an online application for her under the Adopt a Pet Tab on our website:  www.pawsforlifenc.org. ##2100273##

Story
(11/30/2023) Miss Mable is young, cute and ready to find her fur-ever family. If sleek, black, shiny coat and sweet, sensative, soulful eyes is what you are looking for, then meet Ms. Mable!  Do you have a dog that would like a nice furry friend to join the family? Mable would love having at least one other friendly pup in her new family and a nice fenced in yard. At her foster home, she has several doggie siblings that she has as her buddies as well as a fenced yard which she can be found playing and relaxing in. If you are lucky, you will catch her laying down after some romping around with "frog legs" in that cute splott position. Are you looking for a snuggle partner at bedtime? Well, Ms. Mable would be happy to to take on that very important job! When her foster mom turns out the lights and heads to bed, Mable is right there with her. She'll keep you company, warm, and you may get the benefit of sweet little snores. Mable is still adjusting to her new, happy life and is a little shy with strangers but is super, duper sweet. She will need a person that is patient and kind. She is already crate trained and goes in willing when she knows her foster mom is leaving. Ms. Mable is also fine having her meals in her crate but it isn't required. She has also all but mastered the trick to going out to potty, if she goes to the back door and notifies her foster mom, she will be let out to potty...smart girl. We haven't had an opportunity for Mable to be introduced to kids or kitties.  Mable is just learning about leashes and going for walks as well as basic commands. She is treat and food motivated and is eager to please, so continued positive training with her new family is what Mable wants. There's lots for this beautiful girl to learn and if you want to be the one sharing lots of new experiences with her and be the center of her world, you won't be disappointed in the love you will receive! As part of Mable’s $300 adoption fee, she will be spayed, microchipped, up to date on age-appropriate vaccines, and current on her monthly flea/tick and heartworm preventatives. Story
(11/30/2023) April is a new foster pup with a sweet face and ready to find a happy, loving and devoted family to share all of her tail wags and wet kisses with! She does give the sweetest, softest little kisses! April is a sweet, tender, and mild mannered girl. April's foster home has several other dogs in it, and she gets a long with all of them. So a home with a fun, playful, and confident 4-legged sibling(s) would be the kind of forever home April is looking for, so she has a doggie buddy. April is still just a pup so make sure you have lots of fun dog-appropriate toys and chewy things for her. She'll want a variety to keep her budding brain active and occupied. She will want a family that wants to add some activity and action into their lives! April enjoys her fenced in yard and definitely will want a 4ft+ solid fence in her forever home. She is known to go out and play for with her siblings and then is happy to come back in and be with her family. She is good in her crate and will  even eat her meals in there but that isn't required. She has all but perfected house training and already knows to go to the door and "knock on it" to go out. She is also learning basic commands like "SIT" and will want a family that will continue to teach her to be well behaved adolescent girl. A home with a family member home a good amount of the time would likely be best for sweet April. She is still a bit shy, and her foster mom is working with her slowly but surely on all kinds of new experiences. Things like car rides and though getting in was a "bit weird" to her, once in she settled in with her furry siblings. She is also learning about new sites and sounds and gaining confidence with happy voices and positive reinforcement. Taking a little stroll on leash will be her next big adventure, and we are sure she will master that soon as well. When meeting strangers she is a little timid but warms up quickly and then she is more than willing to be the focal point of your attention, rubs and love!! This girl will be a devoted and loving companion! She is a quiet, curious, and sensitive girl; just give her a few minutes to warm up, and she will melt your heart. April hasn't meet children or kitties yet. With her nature, a quieter home is probably better than a house full of young ones dashing around.  We don't think April will get too much bigger and will be a nice medium size pup with a giant heart! She will give you more love than you could ever imagine!! As part of April’s $300 adoption fee, she will be spayed, microchipped, up to date on age-appropriate vaccines, and current on her monthly flea/tick and heartworm preventatives. If you have questions about this sweet little girl, you can email  Dogteam@pawsforlifenc.org.  If you wish to adopt April, you can fill in an online application for her under the Adopt a Pet Tab on our website:  www.pawsforlifenc.org. ##2118318##

Recent Weekend Host commented: "Stripes did great with our other 2 dogs. " "She seems housetrained. At least, she did not have any accidents. " "No real issues with her crate. We coaxed her in with treats. The first night she barked a bit, but then settled down." "Stripes can be pretty strong on the leash. She seems fairly food motivated and we were able to work on some of that this weekend. She got better on the leash during the walks around our house." "She rides well in the car. " " She took to me right away (the only female in the house), but was really slow to warm up to my husband and 2 teen boys. " "Her demeanor is puppy-ish without the destructive behavior. The name harkens to a fun stage in life and Pigtails promises to do the same for you in your everyday life. Pigtails is a boxer mix younger adult who weighs about 53 lbs full grown. His coloring is SO handsome and his attitude makes him even that much more attractive if that is possible? We're not sure. Pigtails is fun, active and all of the things a younger adult should be. While he has a good energy level and loves to play, romp, roam and stroll, he is equally good in his crate and patient for meals and time outside. Pigtails would love to join an active family and could settle in with other dogs and would do great with a playmate, both human and canine alike. Pigtails doesn't have enough hair for much styling but he has lots of spunk and zest for life and will therefore be a most wonderful addition to your family!
