Story
This is Ruby!  She was found on the streets of Memphis and a couple days later she had 15 puppies in our rescue. She took great care of her puppies and they are all adopted now. Ruby is a gentle soul. She looks at you with eyes that show appreciation for her life. Her tail is always slowly wagging and she has a happy bark that bounces her whole body. Ruby loves hugs and pets from her humans. She is very sweet and calm most times - but does like to chew on bones and has energy to do short zoomies in the yard. She loves to go for slow walks especially if she gets to sniff along the way. It is entertaining to watch her look for bugs in the grass. She is always jumping back in surprise at  any movement.  She will throw herself down on the grass  and rub her back conv e nien tly exposing her belly for a rub . Ruby likes to be hosed down when it is hot out. Ruby is very smart and is responsive to commands and training. Ruby currently spends her days in an outdoor run and her nights in her crate inside. She is housed next to another female dog who she gets along great with. She likes other dogs but doesn't put up with any silly play.    She is best as an only dog or with an owner with breed specific experience. She is about 6  years old, and weighs 70   lbs.   Ruby has been spayed, is current on her vaccinations and microchipped.  Her adoption fee is $550  and includes her transportation to her new home in PA.  SHE IS IN A LOVING FOSTER HOME IN MEMPHIS, TN AND WILL BE TRANSPORTED TO HER NEW HOME ONCE ADOPTED!  New Beginnings Animal Rescue uses  a licensed and registered USDA transport company.    If you would like to apply to adopt Ruby, please fill out our online application here:  http://www.newbeginningsanimalrescue.net.  Any questions, please email us at:  newbeginnigs_animalrescue@yahoo.com.   THANK YOU FOR CONSIDERING ADOPTING A RESCUED PET! Meet Isabella or Izzie, a quirky little  36 pound bundle of joy. Izzie was found wandering around alone, she was emaciated and very weak. Dixie Girl and her incredible foster mom were able to step in and save her life. Izzie does well with children and other dogs, but prefers to stay close to her foster. 🎈 She is crate trained , but will require a heavy duty crate to keep her safe. She prefers to sleep in a cozy dog bed or snuggle with her foster. She is progressing with house training as long as she is kept on a schedule. Izzie is crazy about balls and will run after and retrieve them when outside. 🎾Otherwise, she prefers to be an inside house dog. She would thrive in a home where the human(s) are home most of the time! If sweet Izzie sounds like the perfect match for you , please submit an adoption application. She can't wait to meet her new family. 🎉

Meet Fridge – Your Lovable, Roadside Rescued Best Friend! Fridge isn’t just a name—it’s a whole vibe. This sweet, gentle Pitbull mix was found on the side of the road and has since been on a weight loss journey, proving that second chances (and fewer snacks) can lead to something amazing. Fridge is the neighborhood favorite, winning over kids and adults alike with his calm, friendly demeanor. He’s the perfect mix of laid-back and social, always happy to greet new friends with a wagging tail. In his foster home, he’s been a dream companion, living peacefully with two other dogs and a child. He’s neutral around other dogs, making him an easy addition to a home with existing pets. While Fridge loves a good nap and cuddle session, he’s also discovering his adventurous side! He’s developed a real love for walks and enjoys exploring the outdoors. His foster family says he’s getting more playful every day, even starting to show interest in toys—a big step for this previously overlooked pup. When he’s not out stretching his legs or testing out his growing toy collection, Fridge is a true cuddle bug, always ready for some cozy downtime with his humans. He’s looking for a forever home where he can continue his journey—with love, companionship, and plenty of time for walks and play. Could Fridge be the missing piece in your life? Story
🐾 Meet Jack! 🐾 Looking for a walking, running, or hiking companion? Or maybe just a best friend who will love you unconditionally? Jack is your guy! 🖤🐶 This 1-year-old Pittie mix is as sweet as they come. He loves everyone he meets, has a playful spirit, and is always ready for fun! His absolute favorite thing in the world? A BALL! 🎾 If you’re looking for a dog who will keep you entertained with his zoomies and puzzle-solving skills, Jack is the perfect match. ✨ Why Jack is Amazing: 🐾 Loves all people – He’s never met a stranger! 🐾 Dog-friendly – Currently living with big dogs and has done well with small pups in the past. 🐾 Smart & Trainable – Loves puzzle toys and is eager to learn! 🐾 Leash Ready– Walks well and takes corrections like a champ. 🐾 Adventure-Potential– Whether it’s hiking, running, or just exploring the backyard, Jack is always up for a good time. 🐾 Loyal & Loving – He’ll be your most devoted companion. 💡 What to Know About Jack’s Medical Condition (DEPOH) 💡 Jack has a genetic bleeding disorder called DEPOH, which means his blood clots break down faster than normal. But don’t worry—this is totally manageable! It doesn’t affect his daily life and only comes into play if he experiences a traumatic injury or needs surgery. Otherwise, he’s just like any other happy pup! Jack is looking for a forever family who will continue working his brain, keep him active, and give him all the love he deserves. 🏡🐾 If it could be with you, please let us know here: dixiegirldogrescue.org/forms. Story
This is little Tank. 💙 He might look big in his pics, but he is still a precious little puppy. He has been his foster mom's shadow and snuggle bug, and now he's ready to be your best friend. Tank was born in mid-December and picked up standing alone in the middle of the road in mid-January. We don't know what happened to his litter mates, but he was found the night before sub-freezing temperatures moved in. He would not have survived had he not been picked up. This little fellow sleeps in the bed at night and snuggles right in. He has not had an accident during the night, and loves to curl up right next to your neck. Please do not adopt him if youre not planning to let him sleep with you. He is such a snuggler by nature, and he has learned to go straight outside in the morning for a potty break, and then run to get back in bed as soon as he comes back inside. Tank loves toys and playing with other dogs. He knows crate time means food, and he keeps his crate clean! Story
Age: 10 months Size: 65 lbs Estimated breed: Pit bull/Staffordshire bull terrier Perfect home: Zara has grown up with older kids 12 and older and done well with them. She has lived with cats but enjoys the chase, so needs a cat-free home. She loves the other dogs in her foster home who she's grown up with, but can be wary meeting new dogs, especially super energetic and playful ones. She would do okay with another medium or large dog with a slow introduction and decompression time. She'd also thrive as the only pup in the home! Update from my foster 6/25: Every morning when I am taking 30 seconds to put on my shoes to go outside with the dogs, Zara waits patiently at the door, staring lovingly at me (even after sleeping beside our bed all night). She is so loyal! How could you not smile when you’ve got her little face watching your every move? After a long day of helping me work and playing in the yard, she cuddles up on the couch with all her doggie foster siblings, not leaving any room for the human family members! She is such an easy pup to have around and deserves a family of her own. She’s waited six months already, far longer than all her siblings who joined forever homes months ago. Update from my foster 4/7: Zara is rocking it at her Board and Train! During her first week, we were helping her understand expectations and boundaries when it comes to food, bones, play time, and general manners. All the concerns she came with are now in the past and we are focusing on teaching her how to be the best puppy she can be. Which she's already amazing I might add. Seriously......if I were in the market to add to my zoo, Zara would be staying!! She is the best puppy and will make an amazing companion for the right family. Zara has been learning skills such as Sit, Focus, Orienting when called, Walking on leash, and Leave It this past week. Aside from those skills that are strictly verbal, we always start with hand cues and body language. Why? Because dogs don't understand English until it is taught to them. Dogs communicate through body language, so we work with them in ways they best understand before introducing a foreign language. She is super smart and quite the cuddler!   Zara and her family came to us under very sad circumstances. While conducting community outreach and providing straw and dog houses, our southern shelter partner came across mama Zainab and her fives babies, living outside in the middle of winter. Mama was chained up and had a heavy padlock around her collar, weighing her down. She was trying to nurse her five babies while she was already emaciated herself. Volunteers were able to convince the owners to surrender the puppies to them so they could seek immediate veterinarian care. Unfortunately, one of the puppies did not make it, but the remaining four puppies responded well to getting food in their tummies and warming up inside.    The Z litter is now safe in foster care and can't wait to find forever homes! They are super sweet, spunky little puppies. They love playing with each other and are currently in foster care with other dogs, a cat, and children. They are blank slates ready to be shaped and molded into the perfect dog by their forever families! They are looking for families with lots of time and patience to teach them everything a young dog needs to know.    To adopt Zara, please apply on our website! www.nirvanaanimalrescue.org/adoption-application   Please note we cannot guarantee the age or breed of any of our dogs. All of our dogs are working on their crate and house training.   PA Kennel License #18366July 30, 2024, 10:27 am

Story
Age: 1 year Size: 58 lbs Estimated breed: Pit bull terrier mix Lives with: People. He lived with older kids in his previous home and did very well with them! He prefers not to share his home with any other animals. Update from my temporary foster 2/3: Laszlo spent the weekend with us. He is so adorable. Gotta love those beautiful eyes! He got comfortable with us pretty quickly. He loves to play fetch and will actually bring the ball back and drop it for you, which is rare for some dogs. We don’t think he liked the cold too much. He wouldn’t stay out too long or play fetch much outside. He listens pretty well when you correct him. He is your typical couch pittie. When not playing ball or with tug toys he just wanted to cuddle up on the couch and give kisses. He doesn’t bark much and is pretty quiet so he is a good work from home buddy.   Laszlo was surrendered to a local shelter when he was only six weeks old, along with his siblings and his mom. Everyone was extremely malnourished, suffering from skin infections, dehydrated, and lethargic. We were able to get everyone into foster care, and each dog thrived and found forever families of their own! Unfortunately Laszlo was returned to our care one month shy of his first birthday due to absolutely no fault of his own.    Laszlo completed a board and train program in the fall and has been thriving in a foster home for the past few months, waiting for his turn to find a TRUE forever family. He is the epitome of a smushy pittie - he adores all people and is great with kids! He loves daily walks and playing fetch with his ball in the yard. Like most pitties, he is a known toy destroyer - show him your toughest dog chew and he will find a way to get all the stuffing out! After playtime, he'll zonk out for a nap on the couch for a few hours before he's up and must alert his people that it's time for dinner. Laszlo sleeps through the night in his crate and can be left in the crate anytime his parents aren't home - he's super comfortable in his little den of blankets! During his board and train, Laszlo perfected his basic obedience and leash skills, so he truly is an incredibly easy dog to own. He grew up with another dog and met several dogs during his board and train, and has proven to be selective with doggie friends, with no rhyme or reason to the dogs he prefers and the dogs he wants nothing to do with. He's been in a foster home without other animals for several months and has really thrived, so he's looking for a forever home where he can shine as your one and only. Since he's a leash walking pro, he's non-reactive to passing dogs and cats on leash and currently goes for daily walks in a very dog-friendly neighborhood without issue!   We are committed to finding Laszlo a forever home who is as invested in his well-being as we are. After losing the only family he's known, he deserves the absolute best FOREVER home, one who will commit to training, daily exercise and mental stimulation, and plenty of love.    To adopt Laszlo, please apply on our website! https://www.nirvanaanimalrescue.org/adoption-application   Please note we cannot guarantee the age/breed of any of our dogs. Story
Age: 2 years Size: 55 lbs Estimated breed: Pit bull/Shar Pei mix Lives with: Cat and kid. She has done great meeting dogs at the shelter and while in foster care   Lucia was found as a stray in rural SC back in November 2024 along with three other dogs. Further investigation revealed these dogs has escaped from living in an outdoor kennel in search of food, after their "owner" moved out of the home and returned only once a week to feed them. Inside the abandoned home were over 40 chihuahuas living in absolute filth, all starved for not only food, but attention.    We're happy to report every dog from the property is now safe either in forever homes or in foster homes! Lucia is a shy but very sweet girl who has a very gentle demeanor. Lucia is in a foster home with a child and a cat, and tested well with multiple other dogs at the shelter. She is the full package who will make a perfect family member!    To adopt Lucia, please apply on our website! https://www.nirvanaanimalrescue.org/adoption-application   Please note we cannot guarantee the age or breed of any of our dogs. Story
Meet Queen (nicknames: Queen Bean, and Queen of the Beans) Queen is a gentle, loving mama whose puppies have all found homes—now it’s her turn to shine! She’s the perfect companion, great with dogs, cats, chickens, kids—basically anyone she meets! Playful and silly, especially with other dogs, her short-legged zoomies will have you laughing in no time. But most of the time, she’s so quiet and low-maintenance, you might forget she’s even there. Well, until you catch sight of her forever wiggle butt squeezing into spaces she doesn’t quite fit! While she’s still getting the hang of walking on a leash, she’s an excellent riding buddy and loves to be close. Super snuggly but equally happy in her crate, she runs there any time she thinks it’s time to eat! Just don’t let her fool you with her big booty—she’s a bit clumsy and sometimes seems blissfully unaware of her surroundings. Queen’s no jumper either, but her little dance next to the bed will tell you she’s ready to be picked up. And when she decides to join in, forget about personal space—she’ll wedge herself right next to you, but thankfully, she’s not a licker! She just nudges her head into you, rolls onto her back, and throws her feet in the air. If you’re looking for an easy, house-trained, calm but playful young adult who brings joy, cuddles, and plenty of smiles, Queen is your girl! Story
Meet Chloe, a 3-month-old boxer/terrier mix pup with a curious mind and a spirited hop!  Chloe and her six siblings had the good fortune of being born into the comforts of a home after a Good Samaritan took in their stray mama shortly before she gave birth.  Born December 19, they have known nothing but love and safety ever since.  These pups are happy and sweet just like their mama, who is on the smaller side at about 30 pounds. They’ve been super affectionate to their foster families. Lots of kisses and the best puppy breath! They don’t mind eating food and playing with toys, but they absolutely love to give and receive affection from their humans. It’s their number one motivation, which makes them top-notch cuddlers!  You’ll occasionally catch Chloe hopping like a bunny in the yard, especially when there’s a pile of leaves to hop into. Chloe is curious about the world around her and seems ready for any adventure. When it’s time to relax, Chloe and her sister Clara join forces for the most adorable and compact puppy piles. They love taking naps on the couch with their foster mom.  Chloe and her littermates are all working on potty training and crate training, taking naps throughout the day in their crates and going outside to potty when they wake up. They’re all off to a good start, but their forever families will likely need to continue the work to get them perfectly potty trained.  Chloe and her siblings are on track to be medium to large size dogs when full grown, probably around 60 lbs, give or take. These puppies are poised to be great additions to any family with enough time and love to nurture them!
