Story
Hi, I'm Roxy! I'm a sweet ol' girl looking for my furever home. Unfortunately my first family moved out of country and was unable to take me with them. I then found what I thought was my furever home but again they had to move and couldn't accommodate me. And sadly my third home wasn't a good fit either. I am on the shy side, especially around strangers, and prefer things calm and quiet. I am nervous with new people but once I warm up I am sweet and affectionate. I need a low-traffic environment because I tend to become protective of my people and my space. Since I am a bit nervous I ask any children in the home be over 15 and I should be the only dog in the home. My last family said I was especially not a fan of other large dogs. I have lived with cats before and may do well with a proper introduction. What would suit me best is a quiet home with just one or two people who rarely have guests. I promise I will smother you with all my love if you are willing to have a wonderful gal like me. If you think I would be a good match for your home please come by and meet me!---If you are interested in adopting, please come prepared --bring a photo ID, proof of address, and everyone in the home including resident dogs with vaccination history. We are open daily 12-6pm.---The Pennsylvania SPCA - Lancaster Center848 S. Prince St. Lancaster PA 17603Kennel #16516717-917-6979lancaster@pspca.org

Story
Hi, I'm Caillian! I am a puppy who was living in a hoarder's home, and now I am looking for my furever home where I can be the center of your world. I have a lot to learn as far as basic commands and canine manners, but I am eager to please and ready to learn. I have shown some reactivity towards other dogs, so I will need a proper introduction to see if I can have a doggy companion. However, I may do ok with cats, but have yet to meet one! I also find younger children to be a bit scary, so dog savvy kids 5+ that can respect my nervousness are the ones I'm looking for. If you think I would be a good fit with your family, come down to the shelter to meet me!---Our facility is open daily from 12:00 PM - 6:00 PM, meet and greet appointments are highly recommended. If you are interested in meeting an animal please contact us via email at Lancaster@pspca.org to learn more about our adoption process and to set a meet and greet appointment.

Story
Hi, I'm Pita!I came to the shelter as a stray so we don't know a lot about my background, but thanks to my amazing foster home we have found out that I am housebroken and crate-trained, although I'm such a good boy that I don't even need to be in a crate. I love sleeping in bed and cuddling on the couch.I walk well on a leash (unless I see a small critter, then hang on), because of this, my foster feels that I should NOT go to a home with cats because I have very intense reactions when I see them on my walks. I get along with other dogs and love all humans great and small. Basically, I'm the whole package!---This dog is currently living in a foster home and is available by appointment only. Please reach out to schedule!---The Pennsylvania SPCA - Lancaster Center848 S. Prince St. Lancaster PA 17603Kennel #16516717-917-6979lancaster@pspca.org

Story
I adopted Franco from the spca about 3 years ago. He is about 5 years old. He's come a long way since I first got him but still has social issues. 6 months ago we were blessed with a baby girl. This big change has taken from the attention Franco needs daily and is not fair to him and has impacted us greatly. As much as we wish we could make it work we just don't see what we have going on having any longevity. I want Franco to get the attention he deserves and be in a safe environment for him and anyone who chooses to take him in. No pets or kids unless the adopter has means of training to ensure safety as he is rowdy. This boy is my best friend and very loyal with time.

Story
Calling all Pitty lovers! Synclair the roughly 1.5 year old, 45lb male Pitbull is up for adoption! He is blind but don't, "pity him it doesn't hold him back one bit. Hello everyone, my name is Synclair! I was an owner surrender for no fault of my own; my family just couldn't keep me and had been very sad to let me go. They tell me I'm blind, but honesty I don't think I am at a disadvantage. Loud household noises don't frighten me at all, and I am a smart pup who can learn the layout of my environment quickly. I do best with a routine, it helps me know what to expect and curb some slight anxiety. I'm a sweet gentle boy who absolutely loves everyone. My favorite things include snuggling, playing with my toys, and getting treaties. I walk okay on the leash with some guidance from my foster mom, and I have mastered getting up and down stairs! I am also quite skilled at getting up into the car for rides around town. Still working on my relationship with my crate, I have been doing really well sleeping in my crate at night now. I do cry out when my foster family leaves me in the crate to go out on the town without me, however I settle down eventually. I ring a bell that my foster family has set up for me by the door when I want to go outside; this has helped me well in eliminating my accidents. However, they tell me regression is common in new environments. My foster mom says I am a smart boy and will catch on quick in my new home with a routine. Still working on some manners, I am still a big puppy, and little cheeky. My foster mom has a full house with lots of noise so when I get caught doing something I shouldn't, I'm very easily redirected. My foster family includes two small children, and other than occasionally bumping into them when they are too quiet (which is not often), we get along great! I really love to chow down on my dog food, a puzzle feeder would be best, so I take my time and not eat too fast. I Would be okay with a dog friendly cat that didn't mind me sniffing and being all up in their space. I do love to play but I am only mildly energetic, mostly I am calm cool and collected. I will get excited when you come home after being away, but what dog who loves you wouldn't? I have been Microchipped, neutered, vetted, and up to date on vaccines. My foster mom says I'm truly a sweet and special dog that will make one lucky family happy. If I sound like a good fit for you, please apply! Currently being fostered in Reading PA.
