This is Ruby! She was found on the streets of Memphis and a couple days later she had 15 puppies in our rescue. She took great care of her puppies and they are all adopted now. Ruby is a gentle soul. She looks at you with eyes that show appreciation for her life. Her tail is always slowly wagging and she has a happy bark that bounces her whole body. Ruby loves hugs and pets from her humans. She is very sweet and calm most times - but does like to chew on bones and has energy to do short zoomies in the yard. She loves to go for slow walks especially if she gets to sniff along the way. It is entertaining to watch her look for bugs in the grass. She is always jumping back in surprise at any movement. She will throw herself down on the grass and rub her back conv e nien tly exposing her belly for a rub . Ruby likes to be hosed down when it is hot out. Ruby is very smart and is responsive to commands and training. Ruby currently spends her days in an outdoor run and her nights in her crate inside. She is housed next to another female dog who she gets along great with. She likes other dogs but doesn't put up with any silly play. She is best as an only dog or with an owner with breed specific experience. She is about 6 years old, and weighs 70 lbs. Ruby has been spayed, is current on her vaccinations and microchipped. ***FENCED YARD REQUIRED***Stone was found standing in the middle of a road by a kind man. He immediately contacted us because Stone had numerous scabs, open wounds, hair loss and scars all over his head, legs and body. Both of his front legs were swollen. His tail and one of his legs had been broken. He was in horrible condition! We got him to the vet as soon as possible and discovered one of his front legs was possibly fractured recently. He was also loaded with parasites. Due to the location and shape of some of his scars, our vet told us he was probably a "bait dog", meaning dog fighters used him as bait to train the fighting dogs. Despite his condition and his past, Stone is so sweet to everyone!! Our staff and volunteers have been giving him so much love and attention, and he is definitely enjoying his new life. He loves to go on walks and get out some of his energy. Stone is very dog selective, so it would be best for him to be the only dog in the home. He wants all the love for himself!!Stone's date of birth is 12/6/2017 and he weighs about 50 pounds.Stone spent some time in a foster home and his foster mom told us this about him, "Stone is so gentle and kind. He walks well on a leash, takes treats really gently, and is just a calm, quiet boy."All of our rescues are rehabilitated and once healthy are available for an adoption fee of $95 for cats and dogs. We received a call from the local sheriff’s dispatch seeking our assistance in rescuing an abandoned Pitbull in rural Tennessee, and that's how we found Izzy. Despite his rough past and neglect, Izzy's gentle demeanor shines through. We've taken Izzy under our wing, with plans to provide him the care he deserves. He's been neutered, vaccinated, received flea/tick prevention, and microchipped. He's good on the leash but pulls a bit, and he's a decent traveler in the car. He is crate trained. Izzy is sweet and good-natured, good with kids, dogs, and small dogs, but not at all fond of cats. He's very needy but understandable. Weighing about 45 pounds, he's a smart, independent, and gentle companion who's happiest being with you, whatever you're doing. However, Izzy is a bit of an escape artist and can tear up regular kennels. So, he'll need an indestructible crate with heavier bars. We have had Rhino (3.5 year old pit bull) for 3 years, originally adopted through Augusta Dog Adoptions. He is a happy, healthy, young, energetic dog. He loves to be outside and play, will fetch, and absolutely loves destroying squeaky toys. He has lived in a home with young kids, three other dogs, and three cats. While he has done well with the other dogs and kids, he unfortunately has become more and more reactive to the cats. He will need a home without cats. Cats would cause a safety concern for the other animals in the home. He is crate trained, house broken, up to date on shots, and healthy. He has been living in a home with a fenced yard all his life. He needs someone who can give him time and energy. With more support and training, he can improve on being less reactive, maybe to the point of being okay around cats. With no cats in the home, he will thrive. He is SO sweet. Someone is going to love him so much.
