Story
Izzy is a very friendly dog, an American Pit Bull Terrier mix, around 2 years old. We received a call from the local sheriff’s dispatch seeking our assistance in rescuing an abandoned Pitbull in rural Tennessee, and that's how we found Izzy. Despite his rough past and neglect, Izzy's gentle demeanor shines through. We've taken Izzy under our wing, with plans to provide him the care he deserves. He's been neutered, vaccinated, received flea/tick prevention, and microchipped. He's good on the leash but pulls a bit, and he's a decent traveler in the car. He is crate trained. Izzy is sweet and good-natured, good with kids, dogs, and small dogs, but not at all fond of cats. He's very needy but understandable. Weighing about 45 pounds, he's a smart, independent, and gentle companion who's happiest being with you, whatever you're doing. However, Izzy is a bit of an escape artist and can tear up regular kennels. So, he'll need an indestructible crate with heavier bars. Despite his knack for getting out, Izzy will bring endless love and happiness into your life, always eager to be by your side. Please send a request for an application to fill out. (I have some video to text or email) email us at Bakerbridgerescue@aol.com

Story
This dog is a courtesy listing (not in the AARF program) but we will be reviewing applications and helping the owner find the right home for BINGO. Please visit http://aarf-tn.com/adopt/adoption-app/ to apply. His adoption is FREE to approved home. Looking for a loyal companion? Meet Bingo! This 2-year-old mix of American Pit Bull Terrier, Australian Cattle Dog, and American Staffordshire Terrier will win your heart with his devotion and playful nature. Weighing in at 40 pounds, Bingo is a medium-sized bundle of joy who loves nothing more than to play fetch and chew on his beloved stuffed toys and Nylabones. Bingo's unique charm shines through in his quirky habits. He absolutely adores ice cubes and will eagerly run to the fridge with you for a treat. He also has a soft spot for pup cups from Starbucks. Despite being mostly deaf, Bingo is a smart cookie and responds well to hand commands like place, sit, down, and stay. He's a graduate of The Dog Wizard of Knoxville, and his training can continue with his new family. Bingo is fully potty trained and will ring bells hanging on the door to let you know when he needs to go out. He's also crate trained, making bedtime and alone time a breeze. Although he enjoys the company of his person, he can be a bit anxious around sudden movements due to his hearing loss. Bingo thrives in a one-person household where he can be the star of the show. If you're ready for a sweet, smart, and devoted companion who will bring joy and excitement into your life, Bingo is the perfect match for you. Give this lovable pup a forever home where he can truly shine!    Interested in adopting? Take the first step and complete an adoption application on our website: http://aarf-tn.com/adopt/adoption-apps/ If you have questions that are not covered in the profile, visit the Pet Inquiry Form: http://aarf-tn.com/contact/pet-inquiry-form/. THIS PET IS FOSTERED IN TENNESSEE! We do list and adopt our pets nationwide. Typical transport cost to the Northeast is $180. Due to interstate adoption regulations, we are not able to adopt to RI and MA state residents. A.A.R.F. (All About Rescue and Fixin' Inc.) http://aarf-tn.com/ is a non-profit, 501(c)(3) no kill animal rescue organization located in the Upper Cumberland area of Tennessee. A.A.R.F. is comprised of unpaid volunteers and survives only on public donations. Thank you for thinking adoption first! Prior to adoption, all canines and felines are spayed or neutered, have received their age appropriate vaccinations, have been de-wormed for common parasites, and have received treatment for prevention of fleas and ticks. All canines over the age of 6 months have been tested for heartworm. All canines are put on heartworm prevention as soon as possible - this means dogs as soon as they are tested negative. Puppies are put on prevention immediately. All felines, regardless of age, have been tested for Feline Leukemia/FIV. Each animal receives a health check by a licensed veterinarian prior to adoption. Anything else found will be treated by our organization prior to adoption. August 17, 2024, 11:52 pm

AVAILABLE FOR ADOPTION! SENIOR BULL! My name is Coney and I'm a 10-11 year old senior bull! Don't go signing me up for AARP just yet! I'm an active boy who has lots of life and energy left in me! I love to take walks and I live to carry a toy around in my mouth! I run and chase butterflies and yes, I do put those in my mouth too! I'm a loyal man who bonds deeply with the people who take care of me. Sometimes I think the people I love might need me to protect them from people I don't know! I'd me most successful in a quiet home with a single lady for me to adore! I cannot live with cats or small animals. I seem ok with some other dogs but have never lived with them. A home where I am your one and only is what I'm looking for! I may be an older man, but I promise to be the one who takes good care of you! Whadda ya say? I need just one person to make my dream of a forever home come true! Story
Now, I'm not the famous author, but I am just about the coolest dog that there ever was and I think that that is enough to help me make history, right? Hi there! I'm Bark Twain, a 5 year old Mixed Breed who is looking for a fresh start and partner to help me write down my happy tails. I am super handsome, super loving, and really ready to make someone happy. I am an active fella, who would love to have a buddy to go to the park with, to go hiking or fishing with, or to even just hang out in the backyard with. I am a fetch machine and love to play, play, play. When I'm not playing, I love tummy rubbins and learning new tricks. I am food motivated and enjoy learning new things, so I pick up on new commands quickly; I am really eager to make my people happy! I am a total ham and love any attention that I can get, so people of all ages are a-okay by me! Other than being just a smidge bouncy, I should be just fine with kiddos, if you are willing to make sure that I learn not to bounce on them! With other dogs, I'm kind of hit or miss, but no one is friends with everyone, right? I adore one of the girly dogs in my foster home and may be able to live with another calm, female companion. I would also be just fine being your only child and center of attention. The most remarkable thing about me is the size of my heart and my ability to devote myself to the people I love. You can count on me to snuggle you when you are sad and play with you when you are happy. I will be your loyal companion for life! Augusta Dog Adoptions is a 501c3, foster- based rescue. Story
Bricks is a 9 year old, pitbull mix who is absolutely built like a brick. Short, heavy, thick, brown-ish red. He's a low rider with tiny little legs and minimum ground clearance. Bricks is a charming little guy who likes to bounce, sniff and explore! He's happy, friendly and loves to cuddle up under a warm blanket. He was house trained but may need a refresher after being kenneled. He's excellent on-leash and is the perfect little partner to stroll with you around the neighborhood. Bricks was adopted out from a rescue years ago. Shortly, after being adopted from them, he stripped his collar while out for a walk and hurt another dog. Tougher than the 90's crime bill, Va law labeled Bricks as "dangerous" and he will pay for that mistake for the rest of his life. One strike, he's out. He's lucky he isn't dead. He was able to live at a sanctuary ran by that rescue but when they closed, Bricks had no where to go. Lucky for him, the President of Augusta Dog Adoptions is famililar with Va law and was willing to care for Bricks as legally required. Bricks can be adopted within the state of Va with additional requirements. But hey, we have good dogs that no one wants so the chances of that are slim to none. Brick's best chance of finding a home is out of state. He cannot go to a home with cats. He has been ok with some dogs but dominant/aggressive with others. The safest place for him is in a home without other pets. I don't know how to tell someone they should adopt a dog with such a label. You would just have to meet him for yourself. He's little and kind and cute and funny and he deserves to have a family who loves him. A reduced adoption fee of $100 does apply for Bricks, our seniors, special medical and behavioral needs dogs and other "slow to adopt" dogs! Meet the D Litter! These little cuties came to us from a rural shelter with more dogs than adopters. They are now about 12 weeks old and are ready to embark on their journey of finding furEVER families! They have been raised in a positive, loving foster home where they have been well socialized with other dogs and people. They are crate trained, use a doggie door and are well on their way to being house trained. We do not know exactly what breed they are or what size they will grow to be (we did not see either of their parents.) We do know that they are 100 percent loveable and sure to bring joy to your family for many years to come! Augusta Dog Adoptions is a 501c3, foster- based rescue.
