Welcome Kiwi to the CBR crew! She came to us from the Merced Animal Shelter after being there for over 200 days! Kiwi was a volunteer favorite at the shelter and dog friendly, cat friendly and kid friendly...while being in foster, we have found that Kiwi needs a longer decompression time and slow intros, but once she is comfortable she is the best girl with other dogs. While on walks, she has some leash reactivity to dogs and cats, but in the home she is able to coexist peacefully if done properly! Kiwi is crate trained, house trained, lover of naps and sunshine ...loves a good snack and her favorite thing? Her people and her pack. Kiwi is currently being fostered in Dixon, CA. If you would like to meet her and see if she is your new bff, please fill out our adoption application on our website www.cabullyrescue.org/adopt

Hi there, I am handsome Harley as they say! I am a good boy, looking for my forever home! I am estimated to be around 5 yrs old, enjoy evening strolls, laying in the sun and being with my people! I am potty trained, crate trained (will bark for around 15 minutes but calms down after) and neutral with the kitty friends but do appreciate a slow introduction so i can feel comfy first! I have spent 2 weeks in a board & train with Morgan from AlpineK9 to freshen up on my manners and crate training and she said i passed with flying colors! I am currently being fostered in Sacramento, CA. If you would like to meet me, please fill out our adoption application on our website www.californiabullyrescue.org/adopt

This is Emmy. Emmy is a dog that you can tell has had many lives crammed into one. She's definitely got a funny character! She is more than happy to meet any human of any size. We actually call her a love-sponge because she soaks in any love you're willing to give and will give you the best pitty smiles as she does it. She'd take hours and hours of walks if you let her. We've never seen her scared of anything and is so curious about everything. However, she's one of the most committed snugglers we've ever met and would happily spend all day with you on the couch. Her toys are worth millions to her, and she loves to crunch on whatever chew available. She's just grateful for good humans and her life now! Emmy is crate trained, walks well on leash, house trained and dog friendly! Emmy is currently being fostered in Ripon, CA. If you would like to meet her, please fill out an adoption application on our website www.californiabullyrescue.org/adopt

Story
We have yet to meet a pitty we didn't fall in love with!!! London is no exception! She came into the Stanislaus shelter depressed and would just lay on the ground in her kennel. While in the shelter, the volunteers started taking London our regularly to get some pep in her step. London got used to being taken outside every time a certain volunteer was there, so it became a ritual for them. London seems to be around 6 years old and seems to be very comfortable around dogs , as if she's used to being around a lot dogs. There's no way to know though as this sweet girl was picked up as a stray. She's tested excellent with 10-12 different dogs, males, females, the young, the old, the shy, the excitable. She seems somewhat playful for an older gal but probably more on the gentle dainty side not a rough and rowdy player. No kitties for her though! She has had some prey drive during walks and should not be in a home with cats because of this. London girl has the beefiest beefcake smile that you ever did see! She will without a doubt make your day better just by being in the room! London is currently being fostered in Turlock, CA. If you would like to meet her, please fill out an adoption application on our website www.californiabullyrescue.org/adopt

Story
Hi there! I'm your smiley girl Sheba I'm an athletic 3-year-old female American Staffordshire Terrier mix, weighing about 45 lbs with a glossy caramel and white colored coat and soulful brown eyes. I have a unique heart -shaped marking on my chest, and it shows just how big my heart is- inside and out! I also have unique batlike ears that stand up extra tall when I'm extra excited, a cute pinkish boopable nose, and a smile that takes up half my face. I'm not sure what shines brighter, my personality or my smile! I love to be outdoors, whether it's on a walk or breaking out some dance moves on the grass. On walks, I tend to pull on my leash because I'm eager to see everything around me, so my volunteer pals figured out it's best to let me run around in the yard and get my zoomies out before my walks so that I can actually slow down and smell the roses. I love to roll around and will do spins that leave my volunteer pals smiling from ear to ear. I also LOVE the water and I turn into a land hippo trying to catch the water in the air from the hose. In between rolling around on the grass or getting my zoomies out, I'm happy to just be beside my volunteer pal - in fact it's when I love belly rubs and pets the most. I can tire myself out with my own antics, so at times I need to just rest before moving onto the next activity. It would be best I went to a home where I could be the one and only dog so I can get all of your attention and love. But I pawmise I have more than enough energy, smiles, and unconditional love to go around, so one of me is more than enough! I already know how to "sit and lay "down, and I love training with treats once I get my excess energy out and can focus on what is being asked of me. I know there is so much more I'm ready to learn! I'm a smart gal and with some patience, consistency, and love I know I can be a paw-some sidekick! If you're looking for a companion who loves being outdoors, has playful energy, and will keep you smiling with my quirky antics, I'm your smiley girl! Can't wait to take my first selfie with my future furever family, I think I've paw-fected my smile. ## Her spay is being sponsored by TVAR ($35 adoption and, if applicable, licensing fees still apply) ## ## Sheba would do best in a home as the only dog ## ## See video of Sheba at the end of the photo gallery! ## TVAR.org/find-your-pet-adopt/dogs-puppies/ Sheba's Shelter ID# is 82268. She's an adult, female, brown and white, American Staffordshire Terrier mix. She currently weighs 45 lbs. She has already been vaccinated and will be spayed and microchipped before going to her new home. Sheba is located in kennel A-6. ** Age shown is an estimate only ** THIS IS A COURTESY POSTING If you are interested, please call the East County Animal Shelter at 925-803-7040 to see if this dog is still available.

Story
Cinder aka Cinderella is an 8-ish years young pittie/bully mix who is very calm, sweet and smart. She is mostly a couch potato but she also loves going on walks & playing with her toys. I believe she would do PERFECT in ANY home, with or without other dogs of any size. She loves everyone, the sweetest. She just wants to be loved, have a couch, some treats & a LambChop. She is a dream to walk, doesn't bark (but will tell you when she's excited) and extremely cute. 10/10 She is currently being fostered in a home with 4 cats which has been exciting for her but she is easily able to be redirected & understands "no so I believe she would do fine in a home with cats. At the shelter, she was a go-to for dog testing & was noted as doing well/neutral with all dogs, she has met two resident dogs (one young and similar size and the other old and small) she has done perfectly fine with both. She loves everyone she meets, including teenagers! We haven't tested her with small children yet, I think she would be calm enough but she is a very strong girl who can push so may be better in a home age 7 and up). On walks, she is very good with minimal sniffing stops, she does pull a little but is easily corrected. We are currently doing 2x walks a day 15-20ish mins. I think she would be happy and able to walk more. She came potty trained and seems to respond to "come here, "no and "sit. We are working on crate training, making lots of progress in 2 weeks. She gladly goes into crate every night with a treat! Health wise, she had checkup and is 67lbs, spayed, and is generally healthy but currently has some skin irritations/cuts likely from an extended life outside but within two weeks we have already seen significant improvement in her coat. She also doesn't mind wearing cute Jammie's which is a plus, if you adopt her she comes with a few outfits :)

Story
Foster needed! Video: https://youtu.be/wLiHQtcz_sU GT (aka Snuggles) is an easy-going older guy who's calm, mellow, and gentle. He's low energy so short walks are all he needs. His favorite things are car rides and cuddling. He is calm and well-behaved enough to have gone shopping at TJ Maxx and Safeway and to dine outdoors at restaurants. He is house-trained and crate-trained. GT's been through a lot in his life but he remains a happy dog with a sweet, lovable temperament. At one time, he lived with other big dogs in a foster home. But when his foster mom got too ill to care for them, they all had to go into a boarding facility. Poor GT now lives in a kennel. This sweet guy deserves so much more. If you're able to provide long-term foster care until he finds his forever home, food, supplies, and medical expenses will be covered. Here's what one volunteer said about him: "We call him Snuggles after spending a few hours with him. He is beyond amazing. We took a slow walk, went for a long car ride (which seemed to be his favorite) and then took him shopping at TJ Max! He loved it! We fell in love with him. He’s easy to be with and pulled at our heartstrings. He’s such a good boy. Looks like he’s been through a lot. He’d be such a great dog for anyone from what we saw. I’m so happy to do anything to make his life a little bit happier. He seemed super happy today and he deserves the best life. I’m overjoyed to have met Snuggles??"

Adoption fee Sponsored. Foster/Foster to Adopt/Adopt Available Bear is one of our parvo survivors from 2018. He was adopted into what we thought was a great home, in Courtland. Three years later, right after Christmas, Bear was turned into the Santa Cruz shelter by an unknown person. He was in a bad state of health. We brought Bear back to our rescue and treated him for demodex. It has been about 7 months now and Bear is ready to find a loving home. He has been a super easy foster dog. He loves to nap and he loves to eat! He is fostered with many other foster dogs and does great but does need to be watched around high value treats with the other dogs. Bear’s mom was a husky and his dad a staffy. Bear is a lower energy dog but his husky side comes out when he talks. Bear is almost 90 lbs and a big sweet Bear! If you are interested in this big teddy bear please fill out an application https://www.ozziespoundpuppies.org/index.php/applications/adoption-application/ Bear is fixed, chipped and vaccinated. Adoption fee is sponsored.

Story
This is Redvine's second rodeo at our shelter, through no fault of his own. He has a tremendous amount of love and companionship to give, so we really want to see this fantastic boy find his forever home soon! Part of what makes Redvine so special is his puppylike energy. His wigglebutt can knock down anyone under five feet tall, which makes him a less-than-ideal nanny. But if you have older kids and the family has been looking for a four-legged pal to run, hike, swim, or just snuggle with on the couch? He's perfect. * 57 lbs * 5 years old * Sweet and outgoing * Playful * Smart * Crate trained and housebroken * Versatile (couch potato or workout buddy) * Great with people and other dogs in public * Chews on toys, not your belongings * Easily adapts to new environments * Kids older than 12 * Possibly too rough for small dogs and other pets Meet Redvine any afternoon but Monday at 1590 Fortmann Way in Alameda, California.

Story
We just don't get it. Buster Brown has been with us forever and gets passed over time after time. He's been waiting so very long to go home. If you give him just five minutes to warm up to you, Buster is the sweetest, funniest, and most well-behaved dog you'll ever meet. He loves to lie at your feet and hang out near you all day. Adopt him and you will never be lonely! Buster is super cuddly. He bonds strongly with his people and just wants to chill and relax - ideally, you work from home or have a lifestyle that allows him to be with you. He loves to have his head scratched and will follow you around. He knows a couple of commands like “sit.” He doesn’t like loud noises and doesn’t like to be surprised so he’ll do best with a quiet home with no other animals or kids. Buster is moderately active and curious, up for meandering walks but not marathons. He is equally happy crashing on your couch and making silly faces at you. Have you ever seen a dog make biscuits? When he's especially contented, Buster has the endearing habit of seizing a pillow in his mouth and "massaging" it with his paws. Buster's Quick Facts: Age: 6 years old Personality: Loves people Quiet home: Probably best Other pets in home: He should be the only one Kids: No Making goofy faces: Known as "The Master" Needs help: Getting his bowties straight You: Must want to give and receive lots of snuggles You can meet Buster at 1590 Fortmann Way in Alameda, California, any afternoon but Monday. Please fill out an application on our website ahead of time. NOTE: An admirer has already paid Buster's adoption fee, so all we need from you is the paperwork!

Story
Chunk is a bit of special boy, he's very dog neutrally and friendly, he gets along great with them and could live with them. However, when he does live with another dog, it makes him lose trust in humans and causes him to bite when he's afraid, though he never does this in a home without other dogs. So, a home where he can be the only dog would be best or in a home with 1 other mellow dog. Chunk has spent 12 weeks of professional training with Lee Johnson of BeSpokeK9 and is practicing being his best self and his new and improved leash skills! Chunk comes with lifetime assistance from his trainer @boooshank (IG), group classes for the rest of his life, 1:1 lessons, boarding options and priority swimming pool slots for anyone who takes a chance on this amazing guy! Chunk is a special boy and looking for his special family He loves to play, very food motivated and enjoys walks! He gets triggered by loud noises, quick movements and will bark when he wants cuddles. Chunk is a very healthy English Bulldog and doesn't even have most of their allergies or skin concerns that typically accompany the breed. Without dogs, he is absolutely perfect, cuddly, affectionate, and calm. He'll follow you around the house and try to be a lap dog whenever he can! Chunk needs a very structured home, where boundaries are enforced and kept. Chunk is being fostered in Fairfield, CA. If you would like to meet Chunk, please fill out our adoption application on our website www.cabullyrescue.org/adopt.

Hi! I am Cheesecake, well...simply because i look like one. LOL. I am dog friendly but have had a hard time trusting new people. I am working on this and my confidence and am doing my best! I was saved from Merced Shelter right around Thanksgiving. I am 57lbs and still trying to loose a little weight, but with all the walking i do, i am sure i will lose a few pounds shortly! I am good with other dogs but need some time to warm up to new people, they scare me a little bit. I am working on feeling safe in the crate too, but i have been doing a lot better! I am a sweet girl, who just needs to feel safe, loved and have boundaries. I am currently being fostered in Richmond, CA.
