Story
I wanted to introduce you to the most delightful and adorable little low rider, Bandit. She is a 2.5-year-old sweetheart who is eagerly searching for her forever home. This lovely girl is fully housebroken and crate trained, making her an absolute joy to have around. Bandit wants nothing more than to be surrounded by her people and showered with love. She has so much affection to give in return! Bandit absolutely adores kids and gets along wonderfully with other dogs. However, she can be a bit pushy at times, so we think she would thrive best in a home with another dog who is patient and willing to give her the benefit of the doubt. If you are interested in giving this sweet girl the chance at the life she truly deserves, please consider applying to adopt her. Thank you for your interest in one of our furry kids! Adopting from Releash Atlanta means you will adopt a dog that has been fully vaccinated, spayed/neutered, microchipped and medically cleared!! While we make our best guesses, we often don’t know what breeds our kiddos are made of. We cannot guarantee our guesses will always be right but CAN guarantee they are 100% good dogs! Our adoption fee is $350. **We only adopt to families in/around Atlanta, Ga (about a 1-2 hour perimeter)** If you are interested in any of our dogs, please visit https://releashatlanta.com/adoptable-dogs.php to either view more of their profile or to apply to adopt! Story
Hi, I’m Demi!I`m currently living in a foster home and my parents say I bring a lot of joy into their home. I`ve quickly proved myself to be a delightful addition to their family!I love going out in the backyard and pressing my zoomie button until I`m all worn out. Then, I like to zoom straight over to my foster parents, roll over on my back, and get belly rubs. If I think I`m not getting enough attention, I`ll whine like a Wookie from Star Wars.My favorite things are staring lovingly into your eyes, snuggling as close to you as possible, and laying on the bed. There`s nothing I enjoy more than curling up with people for some quality bonding time. I`m kind of an expert at turning even the gloomiest day into a warm and fuzzy one with my affectionate cuddles. During the day, I love staring out the window to see what`s going on outside and soak up the sun. I love to play with toys and will never say no to a treat! Treats hold a special place in my heart. I will also never forget to remind you when it`s time for dinner!I`m fully potty trained and crate trained, and I`ve been working SO hard on my manners. I`m dedication to being a well-behaved member of the household and determined to make you proud! Especially when I walk on my leash... I`m just trying to remember how strong I am when we go for walks together! I`m actively taking classes with Barking Hound Village and I`m learning a lot! I`d love to continue learning after I`ve found my forever home. Make sure you have a lot of treats - I`m very food motivated.Just so you know, though, I do need to be the only pet in a home with no children under the age of 12. That way, I don`t have to share the love with anyone else! I can’t wait to meet you soon!Love,DemiP.S. I qualify for the Foster First Program so you can take me home for 2 weeks to see how I fit in your life before deciding to adopt me.

Story
Hi, I’m February! I’m a high-energy, playful pup who’s always excited about everything – new people, new places, new toys, you name it! My activity level is off the charts, and I love playing chase, cuddling up for snuggles, and getting into some good stuffed toy action. I’m still learning a lot, like boundaries when I’m playing with other dogs, so I can get a little nippy when I’m excited. I need a patient dog sibling to help me learn the ropes! When I meet new people, I’m full of enthusiasm and curiosity – I just want to get to know everyone. I do not like being left alone, though, so I need someone around who’s ready for all my affection and love. Petting? Yes, please! I’ll seek it out every time and give you all the puppy cuddles you could want. The perfect family for me? That would be an active family with lots of patience. I’m still working on potty training and learning how to walk on a leash, and I’m definitely mouthy as I figure things out. But with the right family who wants to help me grow, I’ll be the best, most lovable companion you could ever ask for. Let’s go explore together and have fun!

Story
loves kids, loves kisses and lapsSweet Rosie was abandoned at a church.  She was around a lot of kids who were out playing after church and she was very peaceful with them.  She has clearly been abused but despite her experience, she is the most loving, gentle lady.   She is fine around other dogs, non-confrontational.  She has not been cat tested.  She is in a kennel right now so we don't know about house-training yet.  She loves treats so she should be easy to train though. While she is fine with kids, I'm going to say older kids only because she does flinch with sudden movement, but has never shown reactivity or aggression.  She actually is a kissing fiend and can't get enough affection.  She is a big lap dog. Age: 1.5yrs   Weight: 45 lbs   Vetting: spayed, up-to-date on vaccines, and heartworm negative   Location: Colquitt, GA (3 hours away) but rescuer willing to conduct meetups in Atlanta   Contact for questions: janastoker@yahoo.com To ensure we're meeting both pet and adopters' needs, we ask potential adopters to complete an Adoption Application (www.bit.ly/DH-Adoption) for caretakers to review. Once your application is approved, we will bring the adoptable pet to your home for a preliminary visit. We are 100% donation-funded and our fees are equivalent to (or less than) the cost to fully vet a new dog yourself. Please expect an adoption fee of $300; some of our urgent or long-term dogs have discounted fees. February 10, 2025, 12:09 pm

Story
Dear Future Family, Hi there, I’m Toad—though some folks like to call me Feldspar (fancy, right?). I’m writing this letter with my paws crossed, hoping that you might be the loving, active, and fun home I’ve been waiting for. You see, I’ve been in foster care for a while now, and while I’m incredibly grateful to my foster family for saving my life and giving me so much love, I’m ready to find my forever family. Maybe that’s you? First, let me tell you a little about me. I’m about two years old, full of energy, and absolutely love to run. In fact, I’m so good at running that I have my very own treadmill—and yep, I use it every day! Don’t worry, if you bring me home, the treadmill comes with me, so we can keep up with my routine. Whether it’s a long jog, a hike, or an exciting game of fetch, I’m always up for an adventure. If you’ve got an active lifestyle and need a buddy to keep up with you, I’m your guy. When I’m not running or playing, I’m all about cuddles. I’m a total cuddle bug, and I make the cutest little grumbles and grunts when I’m being loved on. It’s my way of saying “thank you” for all the affection! Toys are another favorite of mine—big ones, small ones, squeaky ones, tough ones—you name it, I’ll love it. I’m also really well-behaved in the house. I’m potty trained, non-destructive, and I know lots of cool tricks like sit, lay down, high five (my favorite!), and even waiting patiently for my meals. I’m super food motivated, which means I’m easy to train and eager to please. Oh, and I don’t have any resource guarding issues, so you never have to worry about me being grumpy over food, toys, or treats. I’m great with most dogs, especially if they love to play as much as I do. I do best with pups who enjoy a rowdy wrestling match or a good chase. I might take a little longer to warm up to intact males, but with proper introductions, I’m happy to make new friends. I think I’d be happiest in a home with no small kids (I get a little jumpy when I’m excited) or with older kids who are comfortable around dogs. One thing I need to mention—I’ve been through a lot in my short life. When my foster family saved me, I was on the euthanasia list. They gave me a second chance, and now I’m hoping you’ll give me my happily ever after. I promise to fill your life with love, laughter, and endless adventures. So, what do you think? Are you ready to meet your new best friend? If you are, I can’t wait to meet you, snuggle up with you, and maybe even race you on the treadmill (spoiler: I’ll win). My foster family is happy to answer any questions and even help set up a meet-and-greet. With love, hope, and a wagging tail, Toad (aka Feldspar) Age: 2.5 years  Weight: 69 lbs  Vetting: Up-to-date on vaccines, neutered and heartworm negative  Temperament: Good with older respectful kids and other dogs.  Training: house trained, crate trained,  He can sit, lay down and high-five. He can also “sit and wait” for his meals or to be let out of his crate.   For questions, please email aimiablepetcare@aol.com   To ensure we're meeting both pet and adopters' needs, we ask potential adopters to complete an Adoption Application (www.bit.ly/DH-Adoption) for caretakers to review. Once your application is approved, we will bring the adoptable pet to your home for a preliminary visit.  February 10, 2025, 9:34 am

Meet Penny, the aspiring professional weighted blanket and full-time lovebug! This affectionate girl has one mission in life: to be as close to you as possible. If you're looking for a cuddly companion who takes "lap dog" to a whole new level, Penny is your girl! She’s still figuring out the art of playtime, so she’d love a patient human to show her the ropes. In return, she’ll shower you with endless love (and maybe a little extra warmth on chilly nights). Penny would thrive in a home where she can stretch her legs in the yard, go on fun walks, and—most importantly—be adored for the sweet, snuggly pup she is. She’s currently in a foster home, but her time there is limited. She’s ready for a forever family to love, or even a foster home where she can continue to flourish. Can you give Penny the love she deserves? Reach out today—she’s waiting to snuggle her way into your heart! Story
Tonka and Rip are the ultimate lovebugs! These two furry friends stroll like pros on a leash, constantly checking in with their human sidekick during their adventures. They’re practically glued together in a crate, kennel, or just lounging around—wherever they go, they go as a duo! Still in their playful puppy phase, we're almost out of the wild antics of youth—thank goodness for toys that keep them too busy to chew on the furniture! Now, here’s the scoop: they can be a bit dramatic in their kennel, putting on a barking show for any critters that pass by. But outside of their cozy den? They’re all about cuddles and love with the cats and other animals! Just a couple of noisy sweethearts who can’t help but make a scene! Located in Elberton, this rescuer is committed to coming to Atl. for meet and greets. Age: 1 year   Weight: 50 lb    Temperament: Good with other dogs and cats, just needs proper introduction, good with kids   Training: Housetrained, crate trained  Vetting: Spayed, up to date on vaccines, slow heartworm treatment is underway/paid. Xena is the ultimate cuddle bug, ready to snuggle up behind you and rest her adorable head on your shoulder! She might play hard to get at first, but once she warms up, she’s all about being your sidekick. This little sweetheart is as quiet as a mouse in her crate and walks like a dream on a leash! She's sharp as a tack too, with commands like sit, down, and kennel down pat. Plus, she’s a total foodie, which makes training a piece of cake! Just a heads up—this little adventurer gets a bit queasy in the car and can be a tad picky with her doggy pals, so a gentle introduction is the way to go! She also requests a wide array of acceptable chew toys to keep her entertained.  Located in Elberton, this rescuer is committed to coming to Atl. for meet and greets. Monty is a tri color stunner of a dog, who we think is a Bull Terrier / Smooth Coat Collie mix! He has a trim, athletic build, and the domed forehead so characteristic of the bull terrier breed. He is a medium sized dog, weighing in at only 38 pounds. He has laser focus, and is so very, very smart! He's going to make his handler look like the best dog trainer in the room - lol! We think think boy would be an amazing candidate for dog sports! If you've ever wanted to stick your toes in the waters of dog sports, like disc or dock diving, or agility, this boy would be thrilled to learn with you. He loves all humans, and absolutely LOVES other dogs! This boy is sure to be popular, and we could not be happier to have him in our program! Welcome, Monty!February 14, 2025, 6:54 pm
