Story
I adopted Sweet Pea from a rescue in 2015, she is a puppy mill survivor. She is currently about 12 years old and has a very calm, sweet demeanor. She can be playful and rambunctious when encouraged by her brother Tigger (Boston Terrier), and enjoys sleeping and snuggling with anything she can get her paws around. Although I'd very much like to keep Sweet Pea in my home, I'm unable to due to financial hardship. If possible, I'd like to make sure she stays with her brother Tigger, a 10 year Boston Terrier. I'm looking for a home that will give her (and hopefully her brother) an environment they'd thrive in. Both dogs have been very good with children in all their past-experiences. To describe their personality with children (and people in general), Sweet Pea takes a very curious, playful and motherly attitude and Tigger is very much the playful type.

Story
Brooklyn is a 2 year old purebred pitbull that was abandoned by his owner and left at our house. He’s a very sweet boy and is house trained. Loves to snuggle and be under the blankets. He loves love and a good listener. However due to him not being properly socialized with other animals and not being neutered he does not do well with other male dogs or cats in general. We unfortunately are not able to keep him because of this due to him not getting along with our male dog that we have. I would recommend for his owner to be an experienced owner with pit breeds and is able to have the time to correct his behaviors and give him the proper care and love he deserves

Story
We call him Mr. Blue. Our dog is a Staffie/Pittie mix. I have his DNA report. 43% American Staffordshire Terrier, 46% American Pitbull Terrier, 3% American Bulldog, 3% Boxer (that is why he is so tall), 3% Boston Terrier (we don't see it), 1% Chihuahua (we definitely don't see it). I think there is another one in there. I haven't read it in a while. He is 2yrs and 3 months old. We have to sell our house and move into an apartment. Not good for this guy. He loves his huge backyard. He definitely loves people. He wants to get petted by everyone he meets. We take him to the mini dealer and he has to go around and visit everyone there. The sales people and service people all love him. Everywhere we go, he wants to meet people. However, he has been attacked at the dog park a few times when he was younger and now has an issue with other dogs. I just tell him no and stand between me and the other dog. Always on a leash out in public. He will kill possum and chase deer. He is not sure what to

Story
Hello, I bought him when he was a little puppy at a gas station back in 2016. He is currently 6 years old. I'm looking for a caring, loving pet owner who can provide him with a better home and better support as I'm currently experiencing financial instability. He loves children, gets along best with other dogs (if applicable). He's loving, loves attention, playful, and is a big baby. Loves being spoiled, etc.

Story
loves kids, loves kisses and lapsSweet Rosie was abandoned at a church.  She was around a lot of kids who were out playing after church and she was very peaceful with them.  She has clearly been abused but despite her experience, she is the most loving, gentle lady.   She is fine around other dogs, non-confrontational.  She has not been cat tested.  She is in a kennel right now so we don't know about house-training yet.  She loves treats so she should be easy to train though. While she is fine with kids, I'm going to say older kids only because she does flinch with sudden movement, but has never shown reactivity or aggression.  She actually is a kissing fiend and can't get enough affection.  She is a big lap dog. Age: 1.5yrs   Weight: 45 lbs   Vetting: spayed, up-to-date on vaccines, and heartworm negative   Location: Colquitt, GA (3 hours away) but rescuer willing to conduct meetups in Atlanta   Contact for questions: janastoker@yahoo.com To ensure we're meeting both pet and adopters' needs, we ask potential adopters to complete an Adoption Application (www.bit.ly/DH-Adoption) for caretakers to review. Once your application is approved, we will bring the adoptable pet to your home for a preliminary visit. We are 100% donation-funded and our fees are equivalent to (or less than) the cost to fully vet a new dog yourself. Please expect an adoption fee of $300; some of our urgent or long-term dogs have discounted fees. February 10, 2025, 12:09 pm

Story
Dear Future Family, Hi there, I’m Toad—though some folks like to call me Feldspar (fancy, right?). I’m writing this letter with my paws crossed, hoping that you might be the loving, active, and fun home I’ve been waiting for. You see, I’ve been in foster care for a while now, and while I’m incredibly grateful to my foster family for saving my life and giving me so much love, I’m ready to find my forever family. Maybe that’s you? First, let me tell you a little about me. I’m about two years old, full of energy, and absolutely love to run. In fact, I’m so good at running that I have my very own treadmill—and yep, I use it every day! Don’t worry, if you bring me home, the treadmill comes with me, so we can keep up with my routine. Whether it’s a long jog, a hike, or an exciting game of fetch, I’m always up for an adventure. If you’ve got an active lifestyle and need a buddy to keep up with you, I’m your guy. When I’m not running or playing, I’m all about cuddles. I’m a total cuddle bug, and I make the cutest little grumbles and grunts when I’m being loved on. It’s my way of saying “thank you” for all the affection! Toys are another favorite of mine—big ones, small ones, squeaky ones, tough ones—you name it, I’ll love it. I’m also really well-behaved in the house. I’m potty trained, non-destructive, and I know lots of cool tricks like sit, lay down, high five (my favorite!), and even waiting patiently for my meals. I’m super food motivated, which means I’m easy to train and eager to please. Oh, and I don’t have any resource guarding issues, so you never have to worry about me being grumpy over food, toys, or treats. I’m great with most dogs, especially if they love to play as much as I do. I do best with pups who enjoy a rowdy wrestling match or a good chase. I might take a little longer to warm up to intact males, but with proper introductions, I’m happy to make new friends. I think I’d be happiest in a home with no small kids (I get a little jumpy when I’m excited) or with older kids who are comfortable around dogs. One thing I need to mention—I’ve been through a lot in my short life. When my foster family saved me, I was on the euthanasia list. They gave me a second chance, and now I’m hoping you’ll give me my happily ever after. I promise to fill your life with love, laughter, and endless adventures. So, what do you think? Are you ready to meet your new best friend? If you are, I can’t wait to meet you, snuggle up with you, and maybe even race you on the treadmill (spoiler: I’ll win). My foster family is happy to answer any questions and even help set up a meet-and-greet. With love, hope, and a wagging tail, Toad (aka Feldspar) Age: 2.5 years  Weight: 69 lbs  Vetting: Up-to-date on vaccines, neutered and heartworm negative  Temperament: Good with older respectful kids and other dogs.  Training: house trained, crate trained,  He can sit, lay down and high-five. He can also “sit and wait” for his meals or to be let out of his crate.   For questions, please email aimiablepetcare@aol.com   To ensure we're meeting both pet and adopters' needs, we ask potential adopters to complete an Adoption Application (www.bit.ly/DH-Adoption) for caretakers to review. Meet Penny, the aspiring professional weighted blanket and full-time lovebug! This affectionate girl has one mission in life: to be as close to you as possible. If you're looking for a cuddly companion who takes "lap dog" to a whole new level, Penny is your girl! She’s still figuring out the art of playtime, so she’d love a patient human to show her the ropes. In return, she’ll shower you with endless love (and maybe a little extra warmth on chilly nights). Penny would thrive in a home where she can stretch her legs in the yard, go on fun walks, and—most importantly—be adored for the sweet, snuggly pup she is. She’s currently in a foster home, but her time there is limited. She’s ready for a forever family to love, or even a foster home where she can continue to flourish. Can you give Penny the love she deserves? Reach out today—she’s waiting to snuggle her way into your heart! Story
Tonka and Rip are the ultimate lovebugs! These two furry friends stroll like pros on a leash, constantly checking in with their human sidekick during their adventures. They’re practically glued together in a crate, kennel, or just lounging around—wherever they go, they go as a duo! Still in their playful puppy phase, we're almost out of the wild antics of youth—thank goodness for toys that keep them too busy to chew on the furniture! Now, here’s the scoop: they can be a bit dramatic in their kennel, putting on a barking show for any critters that pass by. But outside of their cozy den? They’re all about cuddles and love with the cats and other animals! Just a couple of noisy sweethearts who can’t help but make a scene! Located in Elberton, this rescuer is committed to coming to Atl. for meet and greets. Age: 1 year   Weight: 50 lb    Temperament: Good with other dogs and cats, just needs proper introduction, good with kids   Training: Housetrained, crate trained  Vetting: Spayed, up to date on vaccines, slow heartworm treatment is underway/paid.
