Story
Meet Shadow, a 4.5-year-old American Staffordshire Terrier Mix. He weighs 60 pounds. Shadow is oneof our longer term residents and has been with us since March.Shadow arrived at the shelter as a stray. He is a friendly and happy pup who loves to play! He is also a tank of a dog, but only because he doesn't realize how big he is; he thinks he's a 5 pound lap dog, and we don't have the heart to tell him any different! Fetch is his game! Volunteer Megan says that "Shadow is a very good boy. He loves rope toys and tennis balls and is very interested in other dogs." He has done well with other dogs, but would benefit from meeting any potential doggy friends to make sure everyone gets along. Shadow will need an indoor home and a secure containment area to stay safe from wandering and escaping. Positive reinforcement, fear-free training will be needed. Daily exercise and mental enrichment will be very important. If you have other dogs in your home, we would be happy to arrange a meet and greet with your dog(s) to make sure everyone gets along. We do not know how he will do with cats.Shadow is up to date on vaccines, microchipped, neutered, and ready to go home today. The shelter is currently open by appointment only. Story
Meet Charlie! Charlie is a male, 8-year-old, American Staffordshire Terrier mix. He weighs 86 pounds.Charlie arrived at the shelter after his owner passed away. Charlie was very confused and quiet for the first couple of days that he was here, but we quickly found the way to his heart - TOYS! Charlie loves tennis balls, stuffed toys, squeaky toys, ropes, you name it! With a toy, you could see his eyes light up and his little puppy heart become so excited! Charlie also does his best to keep his kennel clean and go to the restroom outside, so we believe he may be house trained. Charlie will need an indoor home and a secure containment area to stay safe from wandering and escaping. Positive reinforcement, fear-free training will be needed. Daily exercise and mental enrichment will be very important. If you have other dogs in your home, we would be happy to arrange a meet and greet with your dog(s) to make sure everyone gets along. We do not know how he will do with cats.Charlie is up to date on vaccines, microchipped, neutered, and ready to go home today. The shelter is currently open by appointment only. Buster's foster mom could NOT say enough about how great he is. He gets along with everyone he meets and is dog friendly, but NO cats. Buster likes to romp and play with anyone willing. He is good on the leash and would make an great ESA for an adult. Although Buster is dog friendly, he has been through ALOT and we are looking for a 1 dog home or a home with only 1 other well mannered dog about his size so Buster can be the focus of the attention his previous owner neglected. He CANNOT be placed with cats or small dogs. Buster some how was chipped with 2 different Microchips so both will need to be registered. Please contact us with any questions.

Story
I adopted Jada for a shelter 3.5 months ago. She’s a 1.75 year old spayed pit bull mix. Jada needs an active family who is willing to spend time training her. I am unable to give her enough consistent exercise. Jada is very sweet and cuddly if she’s had enough exercise. She’s playful and very smart. She’s highly food motivated and very athletic. She loves to run and jump. For this reason, I wouldn’t recommend a home with small children. Jada has anxiety, particularly around separation and confinement. She needs someone to work with her on these issues with positive reinforcement. We’ve made progress, but I think consistent exercise like running, long hikes, etc. is the secret to Jada making true progress. Jada is easy to train with a clicker and treats. She knows sit, down, stay, look at me, and come pretty reliably.

Story
This sweet snuggle girl is looking for her forever home! She loves to go for short walks & be with her people. When meeting strangers for the first time, she will climb right into their lap asking for pets and scratches. We don't think she's a great guard dog. But guard your heart as she will steal it with her sweet puppy dog eyes. Ellie doesn't play with toys much, as she would rather have belly rubs and booty scratches. She's an independent girl and likes to do her own thing. When outside she sniffs around and trots here and there. Ellie isn't super althletic and really just requires a comfy couch, pets, and a short walk here and there. We think she's more of a Netflix and chill sort of gal. She's dog selective & we recommend a meet & greet with any dog that will be living with her. She has been exposed to cats & is good with them. Ellie has also been around children & enjoys their company. She is spayed, fully vaccinated, heartworm negative, & on preventatives. She is being fostered in Seguin, TX.
