Story
Ella the hippo! This chonky girl knows no strangers, she loves everyone she meets! Ella has spent the past few months in foster care after ending up in an overcrowded shelter where she was almost euthanized for space. Ella is middle aged, gets along well with other dogs, and is super sweet with every person she meets. Ella would benefit from a family that takes her for walks, and has a good amount of chill time at home. She's a go-with-the-flow type girl. Ella is with our rescue partner in Laredo, Texas, and will be transported to Idaho, Washington, Oregon, or Montana when she has a home waiting. There are no extra fees added. You can see an adorable video of Ella on her Petfinder profile. Spay, microchip, and current vaccines all included in her adoption fee. Please start with the adoption application: freedomboundhounds.com/adopt https://www.petfinder.com/dog/ella-74622094/id/boise/freedom-bound-hounds-id155/

Story
Sweet Fabiola! This girl is happy now, but she has lived a horrible, horrible life up until recently. According to locals, Fabiola lived outside of an abandoned store next to the highway on a border town in South Texas. She had litter after litter, sadly only very few survived due to being close to the road, and getting sick. Fabiola kept a positive attitude and always welcomed other street dogs, as well as people that would come to feed her and her remaining babies. Since moving to foster care Fabiola is LOVING life. She loves her girly harness, going for car rides, and especially loves the kids and other dogs in the home. She loves being the spoiled baby now. Fabiola really enjoys toys as well and gladly shares them with her doggy friends. Fabiola is going through heartworm treatment, which is covered by the rescue. It isn't contagious and is overall an easy treatment. She is still with her foster family in South Texas, but can come to Boise when she has adoption interest. Spay, microchip, heartworm treatment, current vaccines, and transport to Idaho all included in her adoption fee. Please start with the adoption application: freedomboundhounds.com/adopt

Story
I adopted Jada for a shelter 3.5 months ago. She’s a 1.75 year old spayed pit bull mix. Jada needs an active family who is willing to spend time training her. I am unable to give her enough consistent exercise. Jada is very sweet and cuddly if she’s had enough exercise. She’s playful and very smart. She’s highly food motivated and very athletic. She loves to run and jump. For this reason, I wouldn’t recommend a home with small children. Jada has anxiety, particularly around separation and confinement. She needs someone to work with her on these issues with positive reinforcement. We’ve made progress, but I think consistent exercise like running, long hikes, etc. is the secret to Jada making true progress. Jada is easy to train with a clicker and treats. She knows sit, down, stay, look at me, and come pretty reliably.

Story
Atlas-t, Your Loyal Companion has arrived! Atlas is a gentle giant with a heart as big as his name suggests. This well-mannered boy prefers to keep to himself but would love nothing more than to curl up on the couch with a loving human by his side. He’s incredibly well-behaved, treat-motivated, and fully housebroken—making him an easy addition to any home. The Perfect Housemate - Crate-trained and comfortable in his own space- Walks beautifully on a leash, greeting passing dogs with curiosity but no aggression- Rides well in the car for those weekend adventures- Atlas is not a fan of feline friends so he would do best in a home without kitties! Health & Care - Up to date on shots and already neutered- Heartworm positive, but currently undergoing the slow-kill treatment (adoption includes a year of preventive and treatment meds!) Heartworm is unfortunately quite common in Texas due to the warm, humid climate that allows mosquitoes, which spread heartworm, to thrive year-round. Many dogs in Texas face this risk, but the good news is that heartworm treatment is very effective. With proper medical care, including the treatment provided at adoption, dogs can fully recover and go on to lead long, healthy, and happy lives. With preventive medication, heartworm can be kept at bay, allowing dogs to enjoy an active, fulfilling life with their families. Atlas hasn’t been formally introduced to other dogs yet, but his calm demeanor and friendly sidewalk greetings show great promise. While his size might seem intimidating, his personality is nothing but sweet. If you’re looking for a chill, well-behaved companion to share your home and heart with, Atlas is your guy. We’re also starting a fundraiser next week to help with his heartworm treatment, but any adopter will receive full support with his continued care. Could you be the one to give Atlas his forever home? Apply today! To add Atlas to your family, simply send us an email at springbranchrescue@gmail.com for adoption and fee information. He is wagging his tail and wiggling his butt at just the thought of finding his forever home and his story is just beginning! His next chapter could be with you! Our adoption fee includes transport, all age required shots, microchip, & a health certificate from a licensed veterinarian. We look forward to receiving your application! We will review it shortly and give you a call to set up a phone interview.  We are thrilled to offer transport services every 3 weeks from Houston to the Pacific Northwest, the Midwest, and the East Coast, ensuring that these incredible pets can find their way to you no matter where you are. This makes the adoption process smooth and convenient, allowing you to focus on welcoming your new family member with open arms. Why should you adopt from a Texas Rescue? Because you will be giving one of our many dogs and cats in need a chance for a better future away from a city that has an animal crisis. We are heartbroken each day with the many incredible and loving animals found wandering our streets. So often are these animals dumped, abandoned, or born on the streets and never find a home to call their own. We are giving them the chance that every animal deserves. We know that since you are looking to add a furry family member to your home here, you will provide the love, care, and attention they need to thrive. Thank you for considering adopting and not shopping. ##2219801##

Meet Rex, the irresistibly adorable five-month-old puppy who's bound to capture your heart! With a playful spirit and a curious nature, Rex is the perfect companion for anyone who loves a little adventure. He absolutely adores humans and gets along well with other dogs. However, his fascination with cats can be a bit overwhelming for our feline friends. Rex is almost fully housebroken and excels at walking on a leash. Plus, he's crate trained, making him an easy addition to any household. His laid-back demeanor ensures he will fit right in, no matter where he goes. We offer transportation to the Pacific Northwest, East Coast, and Midwest, so adopting Rex is a breeze. Why choose a pet from Texas? Because every day, perfectly healthy dogs and cats in our shelters miss the chance to find a loving home. Don't let Rex be one of them—he's ready to meet someone like you! Story
Ruby is a very affectionate dog that loves to be with her people. Ruby loves to play fetch in the backyard and is very fast. She also loves to chew on her sturdy toys on her dog bed, or on the grass in the sun. If she gets a squeaky toy it will entertain her for hours, squeaking and throwing it up in the air. Ruby is a very smart dog and knows all of her commands. She walks well on leash and is a great traveler in the car. She loves to please. Ruby loves to play with her dog friends, but would prefer to be the only dog in the home. She is good with other dogs in doggy daycare and on walks. Ruby loves all people and enjoys snuggling by putting her head under your chin and getting close. She doesn't care for young children. She will bark if someone comes to the door, but once they come in she is friendly and snuggly. Ruby is house trained and knows how to use a dog door. She can be left alone 8 hours and will not get into any trouble. She is also fine being crated if needed. Ruby would love a home where she is the center of attention. She would enjoy having daily walks and playtime in the back yard. An adult only home would be best. Ruby is 45lbs. 3 years old. Spayed. Vaccinated and microchipped.

Story
Barney is looking for a family to spend his golden years with. Barney is built like a tank and sounds like a herd of elephants when he does happy zoomies. He acts more like a 5 year old. He enjoys playing with toys and loves to fetch them when they are tossed. He also enjoys a good chew toy. Barney's favorite thing is to go for walks. He walks at a brisk pace and doesn't stop to smell much. He is more intent on getting his exercise in. Occassionally something will catch his attention, and watch out. He is so busy looking one way but walking the other he can easily walk straight in front of you. Barney rides well on the back seat in the car. If he knows he is going to the park you may think you accidentally put a pig in the back. He will snort and squeal with excitement, while sitting completely still. Barney will sit on your lap if you let him. When he is in a deep sleep he does snore, sometimes loudly. Barney enjoys the company of other dogs, and will play for short bursts with them. He prefers to hang out near his owner. Barney can be protective of the home and will bark if someone knocks on the door. He would love a home with a window he can sit and watch the world go by. Barney would enjoy a nice fenced yard. Barneys new owner needs to be committed to making sure he doesn't overeat. His last owner allowed him to put on a few too many pounds and he is busy working them off right now. Barney seems to have selective hearing. If you say treat or eat, he hears perfectly well. If you say Barney bed, or come, and he isn't ready, he appears to be deaf. He definitely has a stubborn streak. Barney is house trained and sleeps through the night. He prefers not to get up before the sun is up.

Story
Enzo has not had an easy start and found himself in a high kill shelter, as a black dog that is a Pitti & having an injury the cards were stacked against him to make it out alive. That is why our rescue stepped in and was able to pull him just in time. He is now in boarding, waiting for a trip to the rescue foster. Enzo is a now healed and ready for his new forever home. He loves to play, is dog friendly, we will test him with kids once we have him, but with his forgiving gentle nature I don't see this to be a problem. This young man is just a bundle of love, you can't but love him back. He is already neutered, vaccines & rabies are up to date, he is microchipped and crate trained. He will hopefully be leaving to the rescue next week so we are taking applications now to setup meet & greets. Contact us with any questions 208-509-7245

Story
Say hello to Bella, the charming and spirited pup who’s ready to steal your heart! Bella is all about playtime, especially with her fellow rescue pals—she could spend hours frolicking in the yard! While it may take her a little time to warm up, once Bella trusts you, she’ll shower you with endless affection and loyalty. Bella thrives on slow introductions with well-balanced dogs, making her an ideal companion for other furry friends that match her energy. She’s crate-trained and settles in easily, though her playful nature means doggy beds don’t stand a chance—they quickly become her favorite toys! Highly motivated by treats, Bella is eager to learn and responds well to training. She walks well on a leash but can get easily distracted, so a gentle leader might help her focus during outings. Though Bella prefers the comforts of home, she’ll need a little encouragement to embrace the joys of a walk. She can feel anxious around other dogs on her adventures, sometimes expressing her excitement a bit loudly. But remember, every rescue has their quirks, and Bella’s incredible qualities far outweigh any challenges! Bella is ready to find her forever home with a family that understands and loves her just as she is. If you’re looking for a sweet, playful companion who will fill your days with joy, Bella is the perfect match! To add Bella to your family, simply send us an email at springbranchrescue@gmail.com for adoption and fee information. She is wagging her tail and wiggling her butt at just the thought of finding her forever home and her story is just beginning. Her next chapter could be with you! Story
The lovely Reggie, who is also called Sir Reginald and Little Gentleman, is an extreme cuddle bug, wanting to share your space wherever you are. He loves to curl up next to you on the couch or in bed, and yes, he will really want to share your bed with you. Once he bonds with you, he will follow you around, and he’s a dear to have. He truly wants to be a most loved dog, full of love and devotion to a person or family that is willing to shower those things on him; he desperately wants to belong to someone. Reggie is wickedly smart. He would do well in agility or skill-based training. He is quick to understand new commands and would do well with someone willing to spend the time increasing his abilities. His absolutely favorite activity is to play fetch. His tongue will be lolling out and he will still want to play fetch. He will fetch sticks, balls, if it can fit in his mouth and you can throw it, he’ll retrieve it. This boy is extremely skittish with strangers, especially men, tending to bark and growl or submission pee. He is fearful of toddlers and young kids, say 6 and under. Reggie likes other dogs yet once comfortable with those in the home he can get quite pushy. He plays well with other familiar dogs outside of the home. He plays well with unfamiliar dogs at the dog park. On leash he tends to “lunge” to say “hi” although his foster family has been working on it. Reggie is not aggressive as a first response with other dogs. However, if another dog responds aggressively, Reggie is quick to respond which has gotten him wounded in the past. He currently spends time with 3 other big dogs and regularly visits small dogs with little issues. Reggie is curious of cats and generally knows not to chase them. He hasn’t been around other animals besides cats and dogs. Reggie generally knows the rules but likes to push the boundaries occasionally. He has been trained to not counter surf, but still does occasionally particularly when there’s change in the house. He knows these verbal cues: heel, sit, stay, leave it, crate/kennel, shake and lie down. He is leash trained. He tends to rush up to people when off leash and forget all about coming when called, so he is predominately on on-leash boy. While his foster parents have been working to acclimatize Reggie to busier places than the trails they walk regularly, he remains exceedingly overwhelmed and fearful in new environments, particularly in indoor spaces. They have tried the farmers market, local outdoor events, and Lowe’s and he consistently has his tail between his legs. He responds much better if he can go with a familiar doggo friend. Reggie has recently begun to show some signs of resource guarding around toys that will need to be managed. He is rather vocal, barking at people across the street, visitors and neighbors. A home that is set at least a little ways back from the street would be advantageous and he needs a yard that doesn’t have the fence all the way to the road. He communicates by whining when he wants attention, a toy, or to go outside. His foster parents have been trying to teach their dogs to “sing”, so he howls when he hears sirens, though it is uncertain if he will do it without his buddies. Once Reggie gets established in his home, he isn’t prone to running, preferring to remain close to his friends. When Reggie is stressed, the first thing to go is housetraining. He does know to go outside but seems to forget when stressed. Reggie had a rough start in life and ended up in a shelter in Hurricane, Utah where he was on the euthanize list because he was doing poorly there. Reggie has been in a wonderful foster home for the past 18 months, but it is time for him to move on and have a family of his own, one with a good amount of experience and patience. Reggie is probably a bulldog or boxer mixed with Australian shepherd or Australian cattle dog. He is neutered and guessed to be 2.5-3 years old. He weighs approximately 50lbs. Reggie is being fostered near Salt Lake City. If you're interested in Reggie, please fill out a pre-adoption application on https://linktr.ee/northernstardogrescue You can see his Facebook bio and photos here and you don't need an account to do so: https://www.facebook.com/share/fdtkYc13iSNfMNGV/
