Story
This cutie is Estee. He is currently 5 weeks old, and we think they may be an American Staffordshire Terrier mix, but with rescue it’s a guess! What matters most is that they are adorable and are one the MOST desperate in the entire US based on statistics for where this puppy is from. Shelters in this area are having to euthanize puppies. So, this puppy needs you! If you choose a puppy from this rescue, it saves his life as well as the life of another in its place. Watch Estee's video here: * coming soon * Estee is playful, sweet, curious, and cuddly. He loves to play with her/HIS siblings and take lots of naps. Eat, sleep, play, repeat- such is puppy life! Estee is still young so they will need a family that can commit to training, socialization and all the dedication puppyhood requires. His new family will need to continue with potty and crate training and daily exercise. We require a commitment from adoptive families to crate train their new puppy. When old enough, they will be perfect to go on walks and hikes or show off around your neighborhood. You will be guaranteed to get lots of kisses in return from your new best friend! This is the feedback we tend to get, although we cannot guarantee perfect health. *To fully vet a dog in the PNW or the NE at many vets it would be upwards of $1,800 just to fix, vaccinate, chip, etc. The adoption fees charged by our rescue do not cover our expenses medically for each animal, but we offset costs with donations. Your adoption fee is considered a donation towards actual costs. Why adopt from Three Little Pitties? The stray and animal overpopulation in the Greater Houston area is the highest in the nation. Story
75 pounds of lap dog, and what more could you ask for from a dog like Oso? Oso is a true gentle giant, a homebody lover boy looking for a quiet life as your resident snuggle bug. He loves kids, and he’s amazing with other dogs. He’s soft and gentle and dreamy! We think Oso is a Pittie mix of some sort. He is a rescue, so his exact age and breed are unknown to us and cannot be guaranteed. We estimate his age to be around 5 years old, and he has the mellow temperament to prove it! Fall in love with Oso here: https://youtu.be/YQYJwaFwujs?si=-TH1rgc1zNVOlH-n Oso is a sweet snuggly boy. He loves to kiss, hug and snuggle. Couch snuggles are his favorite, and he’s gentle with his snuggles. No hard tail thwacks or sudden rough jumps into your space, Oso just wants a relaxing snuggle, preferably one that lasts most of the day and well into the night. Oso is an adoring boy- and children are no exception. He did great meeting a thirteen year old, and showed off his “sit” skills with her for treats! While Oso is amazing with children, he is a mellow soul, and the jumps, pokes, and yelling of little ones can sometimes interfere with his mellow state of mind. He would prefer a home with kids twelve and up, and we think he would absolutely thrive as a family dog. Oso is great with other dogs, he does well with dogs of all sizes and energy levels. He is small dog friendly, and has been fostered with small dogs before! He is not overly playful with other dogs, but will play if engaged with. He is incredibly tolerant, and here at the rescue we sometimes use him in behavior assessments with our more unruly dogs, because he is so unbothered! We think Oso would do best in a home with a low to medium energy doggy sibling. Oso is incredibly friendly with everyone he meets, but in our experience he prefers lazy Sundays at home to nights out on the town. He’s great in the car, but gets a little uncomfortable in crowded spaces. He’s a low maintenance boy, happy to hang back at the house while you galavant about town. Oso’s perfect home will have at least one loving human to keep him company, a couch to snuggle, and lots of treats to munch on. At this time, we recommend a kitty-free home for Oso. He would do well with doggy siblings, but could thrive as a solo dog. He could make a wonderful family dog! We think Oso would prefer a home in a more residential area, the countryside or suburbia, to city living. He’s a gentle, mellow boy, and city life is not for him. With any questions, please reach out to his adoption coordinator, whose email is linked below. We are willing to test Oso with anything you need us to in order to ensure he’s the perfect match for you! We can make most anything happen! Just let us know. Email kristin@threelittlepittiesrescue.org We facilitate adoptions across the US through our own internal transport to ensure the quality of care. We travel to WA, UT, OR, ID, VA, PA, OH, NY, CT, VT and Canada (Canadian adopters will need to pick up in Bellingham, WA or Brattleboro, VT for the eastern Canadian border)! Our pups travel in comfort with 24/7 care on our USDA licensed vehicles, including buses and cargo vans. You can join along on our private Facebook event page to follow their adventure, connecting you with other adopters and providing updates throughout their transport journey! You will get to meet your new pup over a video call before signing paperwork, creating a fun and personalized adoption experience! The adoption fee is $825 and includes all vetting (DAPP with booster, Bordetella, Rabies vaccine, multiple broad spectrum deworming treatments, spay/neuter, flea prevention, a 12 month heartworm preventative injectible, heartworm test and treatment if needed, a microchip with free lifetime registration, a high quality nylon Martingale collar, a health certificate deeming the pup healthy for travel, cost of transport*, and priceless years of love and loyal companionship! We have over 15,000 successful adoptions so far and have excellent Google Reviews: https://g.co/kgs/UQ5Pyai We care deeply about making the perfect match between dog and family for long term success. Our rescue has a 2 acre property in Texas where we assess every animal with trainers on staff, we modify behavior as needed, and create individualized behavior plans to help prepare dogs for their future families including crate training, potty training, leash walking, etc. Our fosters are able to attend group trainings and socialization play groups to keep dogs adoption-ready. Our on-site trainers support the positive growth of our dogs and we enjoy seeing their progress! Our commitment to comprehensive medical care sets us apart. We've received glowing feedback from veterinarians who commend our dedication to ensuring the health and well-being of every animal in our care with treatments that often go above and beyond. Our adoption fees reflect the extensive care and resources that go into each animal we save. The adoption fee is a donation to the mission and goes far beyond getting a fully vetted pet. The rescue’s hard costs alone for a healthy dog to go through our program typically range between $412 to $859, which includes boarding, food, medications, vaccines, and spay/neuter. For heartworm-positive dogs, hard costs are upwards of $1,120. Additionally, dogs requiring extended boarding, extra training, or extra medical care—such as dental work, vision care, or orthopedic care—can lead to expenses running into the thousands. Also, included in the fee are costs to cover transport up to the Pacific Northwest or East Coast. While adoption fees help cover part of these expenses, we want to emphasize that Three Little Pitties Rescue is not government funded. It doesn’t stop there! Our adopters also receive these SPECIAL PERKS: ● Extensive behavioral testing and information from trainers on our staff to ensure the perfect fit for your family ● Discounts on Embark DNA test kit- $30 off of Breed ID test & $50 off of Breed ID plus Health test ● 30 day trial of pet insurance with Trupanion ● A free private online dog training session with GoodPup, plus low pricing for future sessions ● 70% off of your first order of Fetch, a delicious PNW based fresh dog meatballs subscription ● Coupons for a fun visit to Petco ● 20% off of Dr. Cuddles pet first aid and hygiene solutions ● Discounted heartworm, flea prevention, and monthly dewormer ● Access to our exclusive FB Adopters page, where you can network for play dates, resources, and connect with other adopters that share their passion for their adopted pup! Did you know that the Greater Houston area faces some of the highest stray and overpopulation rates in the nation? We are a non profit charity. Our goal is simple— to reduce the homeless pet population through community outreach, free spay and neuter services, and by rescuing animals from the streets or overcrowded shelters where euthanasia due to lack of space is often the only option. The dog you've found online is not only lucky to be in our program, but also incredibly fortunate to have caught your eye. Thank you for considering adoption and for joining us in our mission!
