Hi, I'm Cookie!! I am a great girl!! I love my humans and other dogs too. I have great house manners and love to play. I love walkies and am good on the leash. I haven't been around cats so I'm not sure about them. I want my own person or family who can enjoy how fun I am. I promise to be the BEST girl!!! My daughters Elsa and Anna have found their homes so I'm waiting for mine!!! We are still accepting applications on this pet. Please read the Adoption Process steps below. Story
Hello, friends! My name is Luna and I'm a sweet girl who is a homebody. When I'm not on a walk with my foster, you can find me playing with my kong, chewing on a bone, sunbathing, or napping! I can be a little shy and anxious. I get overstimulated easily by other dogs with big personalities, so I would do best as the only dog in your home. I need a strong handler who has the patience to help me build trust and independence by continuing to reinforce boundaries and structure. My foster mom says I'm really special, that I connect incredibly well with my caretaker when we're away from distractions and I feel safe. I would prefer a calm lifestyle where I get to decompress and relax at home. It would be nice if there aren't too many frequent guests around, that way I can settle into a routine. I can't wait to meet you!

Story
Hey there, I'm Bueno, and I'm here to steal your heart with my sweet and silly personality! First things first, let me tell you about my energy level-I like to think of myself as a happy-go-lucky kind of guy with a medium energy level. Whether I'm snoozing in my cozy bed or out on a walk, I'm just as content either way. But let me tell you, when it's time for an adventure, I'm all in! There's nothing I love more than sniffing all the smells and exploring new places. And don't even get me started on car rides-those are my absolute favorites! Just roll down the window, and I'm one happy pup. When I'm not out adventuring, you can usually find me soaking up the sun and catching some rays. Sunbathing is one of life's simple pleasures, don't you think? Oh, and let's not forget about playtime-I'm a big fan of toys, especially the squeaky kind! And this might really surprise you, but I love a bath and will even let you trim my nails without putting up a struggle. Now, when it comes to my living situation, I think I'd do best in a home without any other pets and with older children. I'm a friendly guy, but I prefer a calm and secure environment where I can feel relaxed and at ease. That's why it's important for me to have a strong leader who can help me feel safe and confident. Once I've built a trusted bond with my humans, I know I can be my best self and bring endless joy and love into their lives. So, what do you say? Are you ready to embark on this journey with me? Let's make memories, share snuggles, and have a whole lot of fun together! Forever happily yours, Bueno

Story
I adopted Minnie (Female/2 years) at the Garland Animal Shelter and Adoption Center. At the kennel she was ready to go out and play. Completely happy to be outside and took her home. Still acts like a puppy when around you by seeking attention, jumping on you, and giving love bites, but when it's serious, Minnie will protect you and your surroundings. Has insane hearing, great watchdog, and athletic when needed. Would recommend kennel, raised bed, or dog house. Toy wise I would say any kind of ball, in which I would recommend Chuck it or Kong brand in a large size. Loves anything that squeaks. Lastly on walks, just have a sturdy leash and should be fine, unless she sees a squirrel. At their new home, I would like for an experienced adopter to take care of Minnie as she can be a handful, but easier if they know about American Staffordshire Terrier. Will be right by your side when needed. Loves to take walks, persistent in playing fetch, and sit patiently when feeding.

Story
(Dallas, Texas - Foster/Adopter desperately needed) King truly needs a hero, and we know that people with generous and kind hearts are out there. King is a playful guy, about 4.5 ~5 y & 40-45 lbs, so loving and content with whatever affection you'd give him. (a couple of videos in the Comment) King was abandoned and left alone in a small backyard run/kennel for 4 years exposed to all weather elements and confined in isolation and loneliness. We were so heartbroken seeing him carrying his bowl panting alone in the heat and dirt last summer, so Angie rescued him. Yet, without a foster, King's been living in a crate at a boarding facility for a year, and we desperately want him to have a chance to learn and enjoy living in a home! King's had several training sessions at the boarding facility, learned some basic commands and to trust humans, and is especially smitten by ladies. King's now a happy guy and loves loves the attention (& treats, of course). King enjoys a quiet life with NO other animal, being with humans, and feeling the breeze and sunlight on his face. King's content with carrying and chewing his toys by himself without the bother of the world. We really believe that a soul who suffered years of neglect and desolation deserves an understanding person/family to love him, and King'd give absolute devotion in return. King needs to be the only dog, is fixed, crate and house trained, and shots up to date. Please let us know if your home has a warm spot for King (for foster, Angie's Friends will provide everything that King needs).  August 14, 2024, 9:35 pm

He is leash, crate and house trained. Joey is a social boy who loves meeting new people. He is an easy happy  typically energetic puppy!   Joey's ideal home will have another playful dog, active owner who is home more than not, and a fenced yard would be icing on the cake.  To meet Joey in person visit us at www.dsda.org/adopt and submit our online adoption application.  * Adoption Fees: Puppies (12 months and under) - $325  Dogs (over 12 months) - $275  Qualifications for Adoption:  No dog is alike and each dog has different requirements based on breed, age, energy level and life experiences. All resident pets in the applicant's home MUST be spayed or neutered, core vaccines up to date and dogs on heartworm prevention to be considered! No exceptions.   For puppies this young must be home more than not.  Must be 21 years or older with identification showing present address. Must have the knowledge and consent of all adults living in the household. Must receive proof of pet deposit and lease allowing pets if renting. Willingness and capacity to spend the time and money necessary to provide training, medical treatment and responsible care for a pet. All poisonous plants must be removed from the yard.  DSDA is located in Dallas and requires a home visit on every adoption so only adopt to Dallas and surrounding areas. ##1948912##
