Story
Hi there! My name is Pancake, a sweet and devoted dog looking for my forever family! Let me tell you a bit about myself! I have been living with my foster family, and let me tell you, I LOVE being with my humans. I am a very loyal dog and like to keep watch on the home to make sure my people are safe. You will often find me by your side as I love spending time with you! I would do best in a home with active humans as I love to go outside to play and run around and go for walks with you. I would do best with humans who can take me on a few walks per day as I enjoy some physical activity! But my favorite time is when I can have some quality time with my humans (I am a great companion to watch tv or a movie with!). I have been described as a smart boy as I pick up on training so quickly! I also love treats (who doesnâ&#194&#128&#194&#153t?), and love puzzle toys that involve treats. If I sound like the right fit for you or your family, please submit an application as I would LOVE to meet you! All Dallas Pets Alive adoptable pets are spayed or neutered, microchipped, and up to date on vaccines upon adoption. The standard minimum donation for dogs over six months to seven years is $200, puppies under six months is $250, dogs eight years and over are $100 unless specified otherwise. Story
This is Olaf and he is a very sweet almost 6 year-old pit bull/boxer mix. He is neutered and is up-to-date on all of his vaccinations and is heart worm negative. One of his favorite activities is playing fetch with the kids. He sometimes lets them have the ball but never lets them win at his other favorite game, tug-of-war. He also just enjoys them chasing him around the yard. Heâ&#194&#128&#194&#153s great at wearing out the kids. Another favorite activity of Olafâ&#194&#128&#194&#153s is cuddling with his family (or anyone), especially when they let him sit on their lap. He loves to give big kisses on the mouth and enjoys big hugs. He enjoys going for walks and is working on being polite on the leash. Heâ&#194&#128&#194&#153s a quick learner so it wonâ&#194&#128&#194&#153t be long before he masters that skill. Heâ&#194&#128&#194&#153s at that perfect age where he still loves to play but is also happy staying in on a rainy day and napping with his people. He is completely house trained and can go all day (8-10 hours) without an accident. Iâ&#194&#128&#194&#153ve never tried him in a crate but he was fine in a small pen after his ACL surgery. This summer he graduated from a two week training program at All Dogs Unleashed and his new family can call anytime for help for the rest of my life, including home visits. Due to health issues, we were unable to keep up with his training but heâ&#194&#128&#194&#153s really intelligent and with support from his trainer he can get back on track in no time. (All at no cost to his new family). Olaf likes to get a lot of attention so he would be happiest being an only pet. He doesnâ&#194&#128&#194&#153t like cats at all. However, he has never met a person of any age that he didnâ&#194&#128&#194&#153t immediately fall in love with. He will run out of an open gate to wonder the neighborhood but seems to always make his way back after saying hi to everyone outside. He is a very loyal dog that will share all of his love and smiles with his forever family. The only reason we are rehoming him is because he has become aggressive towards our other dogs since blending our two families. It is mostly due to him not wanting to share the attention. He deserves to get all the love and attention he wants for the rest of his life because he is such a sweet soul. * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * If you have a specific question about Olaf, then please email newdigs@dallaspetsalive.org. Story
Meet Blade! Blade is a 6-7 month old pittie mix who cheated death at the shelter. He is super sweet but timid. He came from a cruelty case with his siblings and was the only black one and of course the only one who did not get adopted or pulled by rescue. He has not had the best start at life but is a sweetie pie and needs someone who will show him the extra love he deserves to reassure him that his former life of abuse is over. Black dogs are the most overlooked at shelters, often the last to be adopted, among the first to be euthanized & the best pet you could imagine. Blade is great with other dogs and cats! We know blade’s forever home is out there. Could it be you? Interested in Meeting Blade? Please fill out an application! Story
Chauncey is a 4-year-old brown and black brindle American Staffordshire Terrier who was adopted 3 years ago. He loves being close to his human companions and enjoys lounging around with squeaky toys. While Chauncey can be overly affectionate at times, his owners find his enthusiastic nature endearing. He also delights in looking out the window and running and playing in the yard. Unfortunately, Chauncey struggles with anxiety, especially during thunderstorms, fireworks, yelling, or other loud noises, which cause him to shiver profusely. Regrettably, Chauncey is now in need of a new forever home, as he does not get along with his male housemate.

Story
Hi, I'm Bella. I was once a very loved girl, but then my person passed away and the extended family couldn't keep me. I've now been looking for a new home for almost 2yrs. I am perfect in the house. I love my kennel, and I am perfectly housebroken. I like to be close to my person/people, but I don't have to be right in your lap. I'm not a clingy girl. And if you work and cannot be with me all day, no sweat! I can chill and wait for you to come home. I'd be happiest with house with a backyard, and doggie door would be a big bonus!. Oh and I also love car rides. I'm Schnauz-a-Staff!!! Part Mini-Schnauzer, part Staffordshire Terrier. I'm 45lbs and strong. A cool fact about me is I have a white mohawk that blends into a shag that runs down my whole body! I barely shed. There's no other dog like me! No sir! Overall I am easy to get along with and my personality matches my fun appearance. Once I settle in, I am a low-medium energy kind of gal. ##1818987##

Story
Meet Sheila! A vibrant approximately one-year-old American Staffordshire Terrier mix from Princeton, TX, whose lively spirit is matched only by her heart full of love and her stunning tricolor coat. At 47 pounds, Sheila is a perfect medium-sized bundle of joy, always ready for her next adventure—whether it's a brisk walk, a backyard zoomie session, or playtime with her favorite squeaky toys and chewy bones! Sheila is smart as a whip and always eager to please, especially when treats are involved! She’s already mastered "sit," "stay," "no," and "outside," and she’s learning how to heel on her walks. Speaking of walks, Sheila absolutely adores them, though her enthusiasm might have her trying to lead the way! A family who enjoys daily walks or has a secure fenced yard where she can run and play would be an excellent match for her energy. She’s a sweetheart with other dogs, greeting every pup she meets with a wagging tail and playful energy. Cats, on the other hand, remain a mystery since she hasn’t had much interaction with them. At home, Sheila is crate-trained and house-trained (she learned quickly—what a smart girl!), but she’ll need to stay crated when left alone since her curious nature sometimes leads her to chew on things she shouldn’t. Sheila’s endearing personality shines through in everything she does, from her goofy facial expressions to the sweet kisses she loves to give. She’s a big fan of gazing out the window, keeping tabs on the neighborhood between play sessions. However, rainy or snowy days? Not her favorite—she prefers her potty breaks under sunnier skies. Sheila is looking for a new loving home where her new pet parent(s) can give her the care, playtime, and attention she thrives on. She comes with her belongings to make the transition easier, and she’s ready to bring joy, laughter, and lots of wagging tails to her new family! Could Sheila be the spirited companion you’ve been searching for? Contact us at adopt@joyfulpets.com to meet this lovable girl today!

Story
Wilma is being fostered in NJ. Wilma is a wonderful companion and a very sweet lady. She will gently take a piece of kibble or a treat from your hand. She loves treats and biscuits! Wilma also likes back rubs and sitting nearby her person. Walking is another favorite activity, and she will tilt her head to listen to the sounds in the neighborhood. She is a gentle walker, doesn't pull, but will stop to listen. She will respond with a deep bark to other barking dogs. She is not afraid of dogs and does not respond aggressively, but if a dog continues to bark at her, she will also keep barking. Wilma gets along with the cat in her foster home as well as the rabbit. She will sit at the door to indicate she needs to go outside, and will go to her bed to nap or sleep for the night after she has visited outside. She's just a sweetheart who wants to be with her person! BDRA has voted against the use of electrical fencing effective immediately.

He was dropped off at my husband’s shop and he just gotten too big that the landlord has asked to have it removed due to some damage he did to our backyard. He’s 3 yrs old and most likely needs a bigger space so he can have more space to run. We have kids and he does fine with them but he likes to jump on people when visiting. He does not like cats and seems to enjoy being around a smaller dog relatives have but haven’t been around other dogs.

Story
This sweet girl was surrendered through no fault of her own. Her family had too many animals so they couldn’t properly take care of her. This is your lucky day because she’s a Diamond in the Ruff! Bella is a two year-old 69 pound American terrier pit/ Staffordshire pit that weighs 69 pounds and was surrendered to the Mesquite Animal Shelter on 2/25. If you’ve heard the expression, `To know her is to love her,” you will understand what that means when you meet this sweet, well-behaved brindle beauty. She’s very calm and strolled casually around the yard investigating. I’m sure once she’s in a loving home she will be somewhat more active, but she appears to have a laid-back personality. She has recently had at least one litter. She didn’t appear to know her name, but does come to you when you call her. She sits for treats and takes them gently. She’s curious, friendly, and wants to please. She walks okay on a leash. She did her business in the yard. She was not interested in meeting other dogs. However, she is interested in meeting you! She is too big for an apartment. She told me that her wish would be for a loving family that would want to share their house with her. She would love to snuggle next to them on the couch or in her bed at their feet. PS She also said it would be great if she had a yard to stretch her legs in but would want to come right back in.

These pups are in Dallas, Texas too!

Age: 3 years Weight: 57 lbs Good with dogs: Yes Good with cats: unknown Good with kids: unknown Activity level: Medium Training: Basic, leash C heerful, affectionate, intelligent, inquisitive, and spirit ed! Bern iece is a young girl seeking a new foster family and eventually a forever home. In January 2024, during the bitterly cold days that made every breath painful, Berniece was found. Her survival was uncertain, but she persevered! Thankfully, a caring foster parent welcomed her, providing warmth, nourishment, and stability. Prior to joining her foster mom, Berniece seemed to have limited social exposure. She was apprehensive around other dogs, especially with her foster mom's three Great Pyrenees dogs. The eldest female, the alpha, was not receptive to a new young female in her domain. For the past three weeks, Berniece has been attending obedience camp, mastering good behavior commands, enhancing her social skills with other dogs, and improving her leash-walking abilities. She is now in search of a new foster home where she can apply her newfound skills and continue her journey towards becoming the best version of herself. Ideally, she would thrive as the only dog in the household, but if there's another dog, a calm and relaxed companion would be suitable. Duck Team 6 will continue to offer obedience training and support during this transition. Berniece is destined to become a devoted and wonderful companion for a fortunate family. If you are interested in fostering or adopting Berniece, please reach out to Duck Team Placement at placement@duckteam6.org.  March 4, 2025, 7:35 pm

With a lot of patience, her Good Samaritan gained her trust and helped us complete one of our quickest captures to date! Noel is now thriving in her foster home where her true personality has emerged! Noel is a young girl and still working hard on all her training. She is walking pretty well on her leash and has only had one accident the whole time she has been with her foster. She is very eager to please and learn and just needs a little redirection to help correct her. She is dog, kid, and cat friendly! Noel loves to be with her people and friends and won't let a silly thing like a baby gate keep her away! She will jump over one easily to stay by your side.  Noel loves to cuddle on the couch with her foster mom, play with her doggy foster siblings, and throw her toys around all by herself! She is already crate trained and gets the zoomies when she is let out in the morning.  Noel can be a little shy when she is meeting new people or dogs, but after a little time to warm up, she will relax and show you her sweet personality. Noel would love a home with wonderful, loving people and other pets. Would you be her perfect person? March 4, 2025, 9:05 pm

COURTESY POST: Meet Rocky. He is a sweet boy who has been with his current caretakers for a long time. Rocky is a social butterfly and loves the company of cats, kids, and other dogs. He is currently in boarding and desperately needs a foster home or an adopter. Rocky is fully vetted and ready to go to his new home. Please consider giving Rocky a loving home. We are a RESCUE GROUP, not a shelter, and all of our animals are in foster homes. To start the adoption process, email us at adoptions@earstexas.org requesting an application. Submitting an application does not commit you in any way, but helps us make the best match between people and our available dogs. Your current or past dogs must be inside dogs who have been spayed/neutered and are on heartworm prevention. All of the dogs in our program are inside dogs and are completely vetted including all vaccinations, spayed/neutered, free of internal parasites, microchipped, heartworm negative and on prevention before adoption. Our adoption process includes an application, check of vet records or personal references, interview, neutral site meet & greet with the dog and your family, and a home visit.
