Story
Meet Chino! At two years old he's already a gentleman, getting along with kids and other large dogs. Chino even hangs out at doggy daycare and does so well with all his friends. Once he's made friends? It's off to the races! He can play for hours with his canine buddies. With his current human care-giver he doesn't play quite so much, but is still very interested in being a companion (enjoying lounging and napping) and has even been a nurse-maid! Who doesn't want someone to take care of them when they're sick? He's social when on outings to the local patio-bar or ice cream spot, getting lots of attention from admirers. He's a great size to take camping, but will need some more coaching to be a running buddy as he only goes for short runs at the moment. Chino would love to show you how fast he is! All Dallas Pets Alive adoptable pets are spayed or neutered, microchipped, and up to date on vaccines upon adoption. The standard minimum donation for dogs over six months to seven years is $200, puppies under six months is $250, dogs eight years and over are $100 unless specified otherwise. You can view all adoptable pets and fill out an adoption application online on our website at http://dallaspetsalive.org/adopt/adoptable-dogs/ . Story
Meet our newest rescued cutie. She is a sweet bully mix who was rescued from Dallas Animal Services. We are still learning more about her, but thus far she has shown a huge desire to connect with her people. Her foster mom is currently working on leash manners and basic commands. Fern would do best in a home that can give her consistent exercise and would love to be someone's walking or running mate. She will make a fun, sweet and worthwhile companion.

Story
Keanu was born on October 30th, 2020. He was and still is a very curious pup! He loves to snuggle, play tug of war, fetch, go on walks, and try to catch the stream from the water hose and bathtub. He is very protective of his family and will look to you for approval as to if a stranger walking by is nothing to worry about. While his current family loves him dearly, they have a one year old and another one on the way. While Keanu is good with dogs (small, medium, large, male/female) and people, he sometimes does not know his own strength or how to contain his energy. He would be better around older kids (10 or older) rather than young children. He means well, it is just he is a bit much around little ones. He also has a lot of energy and needs to go on walks and run around a large play area for extended periods. With kids in the mix, it has become harder to give him the attention he deserves. He is kennel trained and house broken. He does require a slow feeder because he eats way too fast. Considering he is a Bull Terrier, he does have the classic skin issues. He is allergic to grass, so he will require a good wipe down if he is ever rolling around in it too much. We have him on apoquel 16mg to control his allergies. A quantity of 30 runs about $83 from Chewy and would cost a lot more from a veterinary clinic. The 30 pills are broken in half, so it will last two months before you need to refill. He also has some digestive issues, so he is not able to eat Ol' Roy, Pedigree, or Puppy Chow without having digestive upsets (runny stool, vomiting). He does well on the Purina One Large Breed brand. He eats about 2 and a half cups a day so a 40lb bag (about $65) can last nearly two months. I'm sure he could readjust to another brand, but it would have to be something like blue buffalo or Iams. He can be a very high maintenance dog, but he is worth it. The love and energy he exudes is wonderful. His family is sad to have to rehome him, but he deserves to have the best possible home. He would do well with the following: someone single with a very active lifestyle; a couple with no children; a couple with older children. He would likely not do well in an apartment, unless of course he is able to go to a nearby dog park/walk daily. He would do best with a yard where he can run freely. Keep an eye on him, though! He tends to overexert himself. He can be loose as long as someone is home. He is kenneled when we are not home as he gets a little curious when no one is around and can also get separation anxiety. His kennel is his safe zone. We hope you will consider bringing Keanu into your home! Keanu is participating in The Love Pit's iRehome program, so ongoing care and custody are provided by their foster. All behavior and medical information is provided by their caretaker, and TLP encourages all adopters to verify the information with their caretaker prior to adoption.

Oh my gosh, are you here to read more about little ol’ me? Oh, where do I start! Well, I’m just a happy doggo trying to live my best life and match up with a new family. DAS is helping me search, isn’t that cool? We’re still getting to know each other, but I think we’re going to find me some great friends. I’ve let them know that I enjoy long walks on warm evenings, trying all kinds of new snacks, and chewing on doggie toys. Who doesn’t love those things? Speaking of snacks, I’ve heard that Dallas is an exciting doggie-friendly place for food enthusiasts! I’d love to check out a few patios some day with my new family. Does that sound like something you’d enjoy, too? I sure hope so… maybe you could click that “Adopt Me” button and we’ll get to know each other better!

Story
Duke was a rescue that I had gotten roughly 2 years ago. I was informed that Duke was between 8 and 9 at the time and had spent the last year in the shelter. Though the goal was to give Duke a forever home my complex has started to crack down on owners with bully breeds. Duke has no health issues. He does show aggression to other large dogs, though I believe with a good owner he can be slowly introduced to other dogs as we also have 2 smaller yorkies that he does fine with. The only issues I have seen is that he does prefer to be around them when they are hyper. Duke is a cuddler and just looking for the right person.

Story
COURTESY POST: Meet Rocky. He is a sweet boy who has been with his current caretakers for a long time. Rocky is a social butterfly and loves the company of cats, kids, and other dogs. He is currently in boarding and desperately needs a foster home or an adopter. Rocky is fully vetted and ready to go to his new home. Please consider giving Rocky a loving home. Rocky is about 4 years old and weighs 65 pounds. Please note that we don't recommend Rocky to families with children under 5. We are a RESCUE GROUP, not a shelter, and all of our animals are in foster homes. To start the adoption process, email us at adoptions@earstexas.org requesting an application. Submitting an application does not commit you in any way, but helps us make the best match between people and our available dogs. Your current or past dogs must be inside dogs who have been spayed/neutered and are on heartworm prevention. All of the dogs in our program are inside dogs and are completely vetted including all vaccinations, spayed/neutered, free of internal parasites, microchipped, heartworm negative and on prevention before adoption. Our adoption process includes an application, check of vet records or personal references, interview, neutral site meet & greet with the dog and your family, and a home visit.

Story
Meet sweet Lila! She is about 6 months old and a mixed breed, brindle with white. We have had her in our family for about two weeks, she was a stray found by Dallas Animal Services. Lila is such a sweet pup. She gets along with other dogs as she was in a home with two other dogs and kids before we got her and currently lives with teenagers. She does bark and whine at other animals when on a leash or when seeing other animals out of the window. But she doesnâ&#194&#128&#194&#153t bark at other humans while walking on her leash or even when someone knocks on the door. Lila will cuddle up with you when tired and play with you when you are ready to play. She is still learning not to puppy bite while playing though. She has learned that â&#194&#128&#194&#156gentleâ&#194&#128&#194&#157 means donâ&#194&#128&#194&#153t bite hard. An ideal home for Lila would be one with another dog friend and a yard to lay out in. She is crate-trained and housebroken and knows the commands sit/down/stay/come. She sits and waits for her food when she knows it is coming and knows that most likely when we say â&#194&#128&#194&#156good girlâ&#194&#128&#194&#157 it means she is getting a treat. She is a quick learner and I know will get caught up on all the manners when trained! This sweet girl is deserving of the perfect furever home. Could it be with you? Story
Meet the magnificent Izzy! He is an 18-month-old, 38lbs, Boxer mixed breed, with the best smile! He was rescued as a puppy with his mom and litter from a hoarding situation with dozens of other dogs. Izzy is a goofy and highly energetic pup who loves to run and play. His favorite game is tug of war. Heâ&#194&#128&#194&#153s a very â&#194&#128&#194&#156doggyâ&#194&#128&#194&#157 dog and likes all the classics- sticks, bones, and balls! He gets along with other dogs and currently lives with a dog and several cats. He loves having a friend to play with but is too excitable for most kitties. Izzy likes to cuddle up with his humans on the couch while chewing his bone. An ideal home for Izzy would be one with another dog and big backyard. Izzy is crate-trained, and very food motivated to learn new commands. He is one smart pup! He knows what he wants and how to get it, even if he doesnâ&#194&#128&#194&#153t always realize thereâ&#194&#128&#194&#153s a wall or glass door in his way! He does great on walks and loves car rides, especially if that car is headed to the dog park. This special pup is deserving of the perfect furever home. Could it be with you?
