Story
Keanu is a very energetic 3 and a half year old dog. He loves to go on walks and play fetch. He is good with small, medium, and large dogs. He is crate trained and potty trained. With our family expanding we have not been able to give him the attention he deserves. He does have skin allergies and needs to be on a monthly (apoquel, half a dose daily with food, lasts about 3 months). He eats purina one and can’t eat anything less without getting digestive upsets. He is also allergic to grass and needs to be wiped down after heavy play to help reduce itching. He doesn’t tear up bedding, doesn’t bark outside, will bark if the doorbell rings, is very protective of his owners. He does well on car rides and knows how to be calm indoors. He would do well with a single person or couple who is very active and has an area where he can play or at least go on daily walks.

Story
Keanu was born on October 30th, 2020. He was and still is a very curious pup! He loves to snuggle, play tug of war, fetch, go on walks, and try to catch the stream from the water hose and bathtub. He is very protective of his family and will look to you for approval as to if a stranger walking by is nothing to worry about. While his current family loves him dearly, they have a one year old and another one on the way. While Keanu is good with dogs (small, medium, large, male/female) and people, he sometimes does not know his own strength or how to contain his energy. He would be better around older kids (10 or older) rather than young children. He means well, it is just he is a bit much around little ones. He also has a lot of energy and needs to go on walks and run around a large play area for extended periods. With kids in the mix, it has become harder to give him the attention he deserves. He is kennel trained and house broken. He does require a slow feeder because he eats way too fast. Considering he is a Bull Terrier, he does have the classic skin issues. He is allergic to grass, so he will require a good wipe down if he is ever rolling around in it too much. We have him on apoquel 16mg to control his allergies. A quantity of 30 runs about $83 from Chewy and would cost a lot more from a veterinary clinic. The 30 pills are broken in half, so it will last two months before you need to refill. He also has some digestive issues, so he is not able to eat Ol' Roy, Pedigree, or Puppy Chow without having digestive upsets (runny stool, vomiting). He does well on the Purina One Large Breed brand. He eats about 2 and a half cups a day so a 40lb bag (about $65) can last nearly two months. I'm sure he could readjust to another brand, but it would have to be something like blue buffalo or Iams. He can be a very high maintenance dog, but he is worth it. The love and energy he exudes is wonderful. His family is sad to have to rehome him, but he deserves to have the best possible home. He would do well with the following: someone single with a very active lifestyle; a couple with no children; a couple with older children. He would likely not do well in an apartment, unless of course he is able to go to a nearby dog park/walk daily. He would do best with a yard where he can run freely. Keep an eye on him, though! He tends to overexert himself. He can be loose as long as someone is home. He is kenneled when we are not home as he gets a little curious when no one is around and can also get separation anxiety. His kennel is his safe zone. We hope you will consider bringing Keanu into your home! Keanu is participating in The Love Pit's iRehome program, so ongoing care and custody are provided by their foster. All behavior and medical information is provided by their caretaker, and TLP encourages all adopters to verify the information with their caretaker prior to adoption.

Story
Oh my gosh, are you here to read more about little ol’ me? Oh, where do I start! Well, I’m just a happy doggo trying to live my best life and match up with a new family. DAS is helping me search, isn’t that cool? We’re still getting to know each other, but I think we’re going to find me some great friends. I’ve let them know that I enjoy long walks on warm evenings, trying all kinds of new snacks, and chewing on doggie toys. Who doesn’t love those things? Speaking of snacks, I’ve heard that Dallas is an exciting doggie-friendly place for food enthusiasts! I’d love to check out a few patios some day with my new family. Does that sound like something you’d enjoy, too? I sure hope so… maybe you could click that “Adopt Me” button and we’ll get to know each other better!

Max is a 6 year old boy who has been the only pet at home since he was born. He is great with any age humans and loves to be lazy and showered with treats. He loves walks and is train to let his human know when he needs to be let out. He does not like to share home with other pets so he needs to be only pet home.
