Story
Anna is a three year old Anatolian Shepherd/Cattle Dog and is a very sweet girl, affectionate and loving. She will join you on the floor or couch and cuddle with you. She loves to play with other dogs both male and female, and run around in the backyard. Anna walks great on a leash, has learned to sit and we are working on other basic training for her. She knows her name well and comes when you call her. She is pretty chill when inside- just likes to lay around like a cute, fluffy potato. Barking is very minimal. She is working on going potty outside and doing very well. Likes: to be with people Dislikes: to be alone Anna is good with dogs and great with kids but unsure of small kids. Anna is being fostered in Highlands Ranch, Colorado. ##2283341##

Story
Hi there, I'm Lizzy! I'm still a pup, so I have plenty of energy for play and adventure. I'm sweet as sugar, always eager to make new friends. I'm gentle with everyone I meet, even the smallest creatures. I'm brave too, nothing seems to scare me. I love to cuddle up after a long day of fun, feeling safe and loved. I'm loyal to a fault, always sticking by my friends. I'm mellow, never getting too worked up over anything. I'd love to share my sweetness, bravery, and loyalty with you. I'm just waiting for my forever home where I can be your faithful companion. Adopt me and let's make some wonderful memories together! If you're interested in adopting me, fill out an adoption application online at www.polkcountyhumanesociety.org/adopt where you will also find a link to request an appointment to meet me. Some pets are in foster homes or may already have an appointment scheduled, so the appointment is important to make sure I will be available to meet you when you come. Polk County Humane Society is located in Bolivar, Missouri, but also makes transports to the Denver, CO, Des Moines, IA and Minneapolis, MN areas at least monthly. For potential adopters in those areas, we can do a virtual visit using FaceTime or another app. Just request an appointment using the same link, but note that you want the visit to be virtual and we will call you at the time of the visit once it is confirmed. For long distance transports, there is an additional $100 fee to cover the cost of the transport ($65) and a health certificate from a veterinarian ($35). Going that last mile home for our sweet pets! All of our pets are neutered or spayed, have vaccinations appropriate for their age, treated with flea/tick/heartworm prevention, dewormed and dogs are also microchipped. ##1971509##

Name: Mae the Meadow Guardian Breed: Anatolian Shepherd / Great Pyrenees Mix Sex: Spayed Female Age: 4 years Weight: 106 lbs Good with dogs? Mae thrives in neutral environments like parks, where she enjoys socializing with dogs. She successfully attends daycare. She just needs a proper introductions to other dogs. Good with cats? Mae is curious and energetic around small animals, so a cat-free home would be best. Good with kids? Mae is wonderfully gentle with children that she knows and would do well in a calm home with an attentive human who provides her with love and support. Energy level: Medium. Mae loves her naps but enjoys bursts of playfulness, like chasing a ball (though she might not always bring it back). Behavioral needs: Mae is a loyal guardian who feels most at ease in a home with a predictable environment and few visitors. She thrives with a mindful adopter who understands her protective instincts and can thoughtfully guide her in meeting new people and dogs. Mae enjoys walks with her harness and leash and needs a strong handler for her size. A fenced yard and a quiet yard would provide her with the perfect space to relax and explore. Animal Characteristics: Mae is a stunning, affectionate dog ready to join you on your adventures. Whether hiking in the mountains, camping, playing in the snow, or snuggling on the couch, she’s the perfect mix of active and easygoing. Mae is fully potty and crate trained but is so well-behaved she can roam freely at home. She’s calm and loving with her people, offering her companionship and devotion in every moment.

Haze is an amazing boy! Guessed to be around 13-14 weeks old, he is smart and loving. He likes cuddles, playing with our other dogs, and is good at listening! His pictures do not show how truly cute he really is. He is playful but not overly so, at least not in the time we have been fostering him! He is going to make a wonderful addition to any family! If you want to meet him, prepare for love at first sight! His "Size Group" lists currently says Small-Under 25, but he will likely be around 60+ since he is already 20lbs!
