Story
adoption donation $599 weight: 45 lbs Age: 2 years     Precious lives up to her name. She is a sweet and friendly dog who loves to run and play. Precious has been with the rescue for quite a while, she was treated for heartworm, but is negative now. She gets very excited when people visit, she would absolutely love a family of her own where she can play with other dogs.         Precious is an active girl, her tail is always wagging and she always looks like she’s smiling!  She is up-to-date on her vaccinations and is spayed. She is housebroken but like any rescue dog she may need some guidance says she adjust to a new home.    We really aren’t sure of her breed, she seems to have some shepherd and maybe some Shibu Inu, when we put her pictures into a Dog Scanner app she comes up with all sorts of breeds  most of which we’ve never heard of! What we do know is that Precious is a really awesome dog!     Wags is a registered 501 C3, it is a struggling rescue in Mississippi where one woman cares for almost 150 homeless dogs. Adoption donations are our only source of funding for the rescue. Adoption fees include the transport, vaccines, spay or neuter.   For more information, please email Mariaeftimiades@yahoo.com  August 19, 2024, 7:04 am

Story
Moira Rose has had her last litter and is now taking time out for herself. She is getting the hang of indoor living and what it means to curl up on a doggie bed. Getting the attention she has been lacking for a long time. Walks good on leash, rides great in the car. Moira Rose is a great bird watcher and will run and bark to let them know she won’t tolerate their present. She’s a bit on the aloof side, comes to you when she feels the need. She will growl to get your attention as to say I’m here human, give me your hand. She gets excited when she thinks she can read your movement and barks with excitement to know she was right about it. Best with another dog to help her to have that security being with one of her kind. She plays well with others and will find her cuddled up with her favorite pal. Patiently waiting for her forever home. www.cprdogs.com . Moira Rose is spayed/neutered, up to date on vaccinations, and current on flea/tick and heartworm preventative. This dog has tested neg for heartworms. The adoption fee is $450 if your adoption is prepaid and final prior to your dog's arrival. An additional $50 will be charged on dogs that are picked up from our Southbury CT adoption center, adopted at an event, or foster home. This additional fee is necessary in order to comply with CT HB 5368. WANT TO MEET OUR DOGS IN PERSON? Check the Events tab on cprdogs.com for all weekend adoption event info. Rex is the best boy, he loves kids and other dogs. He is housebroken and working on crate training. He loves to snuggle and thinks he’s a lap dog. Name: JasperAge: Under 2Breed: Anatolian Shepherd MixDogs: YesCats: YesKids: Over 5Our buddy Jasper is ready to find his forever home! Jasper was found roaming and kept safe by a good Samaritan until our neighbors at animal control could get there to help. His owners never came forward to claim Jasper, and he's now with MHS and we couldn't be more thrilled! This big guy is incredibly sweet and loves everyone who crosses his path! This is one handsome pup, Jasper gets stopped everywhere he goes and gets complimented about how handsome he is, just check out those baby blues!Jasper is a free spirit, who loves his walks, car rides, chasing the occasional butterfly, playing with his toys, occasionally forgets his size and thinks he's a lapdog, and is just an all around goofy, sweet pup!Jasper is very well behaved, likes other dogs, is good with kids, but due to his size, we are saying over 5 because he is still a bit of a puppy so can get a little overly excited when playing, but who can blame the guy. Jasper doesn't mind cats, but would prefer to play with them. Jasper is UTD on his vaccinations, neutered, and micro-chipped.If you think you are Jasper's forever family, please fill out an application today! https://service.sheltermanager.com/asmservice?account=meridenhumanesociety&method=online_form_html&formid=27

Story
To my future owner, My name is Boone and I am a two year old neutered Asian shepherd mix. I have been living with my family since I was a little puppy. I love them so much, but sometimes I get very protective over my human children with their friends. This makes my Mom and Dad nervous, and they have decided to re-home me. I am going to be super sad without them and I am a really good dog and wish I could stay. I am completely house-trained so I don’t need to be in a crate. I am pretty lazy and I love being a couch potato and going to bed early. My favorite place is the beach and going on car rides.  I will make a great hiking buddy and love playing with other dogs.   I get scared of loud noises like thunder and fireworks, and that crazy vacuum creature. I am a little bit of a baby when it comes to going out in the rain and taking baths, so not so thrilled about water.   Please give me a chance and I’m sure you’ll love me as much as I will love you.

Story
Meet Polar, a gentle soul with a heart as vast as the Arctic. At 78 pounds, this sweet year and a half old shepherd mix has weathered life’s storms. He is a bit shy, but once he feels warmth and finds connection, his personality comes out and it's clear what a loyal and kind companion he truly is. This sweet boy just needs to find his people, and when he does, they will see what a true gem he really is. An avid adventure buddy, Polar loves to dash and dart around the backyard, reveling in the joy of a solid runabout. But when it's time to unwind, he’s a certified couch potato, happy to snuggle up beside his people for some quality downtime. Polar gets along with other dogs, but he can sometimes be specific about who he wants to spend his time with, so introductions are important. This smart boy is fully house trained and has already mastered the art of sitting. He is a quick learner and enjoys bonding with his people through love, walks and just hanging out. Polar can't wait to settle into the family life he was meant for. With patience and love, this gentle giant is poised to transform his people's life into an amazing partnership. To Adopt (or foster-to-adopt), please complete the adoption application here: https://anewchancear.org/adopt/adoption-application To Foster, please complete the foster application here: https://anewchancear.org/foster/fostering-application/ Thank you so much for your interest in adopting a dog from A New Chance Animal Rescue (https://anewchancear.org). We are a 501c3, tax deductible organization. ANCAR is a foster-based rescue, and we adopt within a 90 mile radius of Bedford Hills, NY. You will find the adoption application here: (https://anewchancear.org/adopt/adoption-application/). All fields on the application must be completed. Please read about the adoption process (https://www.anewchancear.org/adopt/our-adoption-process/) so you'll know what to expect when you submit. Our dogs are in foster care and we do NOT have a shelter or boarding facility. AN APPLICATION MUST BE COMPLETED IN FULL AND APPROVED BEFORE A DOG CAN BE MET. This is a firm policy. Our busy volunteers are not able to respond to questions about the dog or dog meeting requests in the absence of an application. We know these dogs very well because they are in foster care. Please read the profiles of the dog(s) you are interested in prior to submitting an application. If there are specific requirements stated (ie: Fenced Yard or Canine Friend Required) these are included because they are vital to the happiness, health, safety and adoption success of that dog. We are only able to save as many dogs as we have foster homes (https://www.anewchancear.org/foster/faqs/) and resources for. We provide medical care including vaccinations, testing, deworming, spaying/neutering and microchipping before transporting our dogs. We provide all supplies, preventatives and any follow up vet care necessary while they are in foster care. These costs are high and the number of lives we can save is entirely dependent upon donations from people like you. We do not receive funding from private foundations or government sources. If you can find room in your heart to help us, with any amount, we are truly grateful (https://www.anewchancear.org/help/donate/). We are a 501c3 organization, so all donations are tax-deductible. It is only through the kindness of supporters like you that we are 'changing lives...one tail at a time' by providing our dogs with 'A New Chance.' (https://anewchancear.org) Thanks so much.
