Story
I'm everyone, I am pleased to introduce myself. My name is Lil Red. I am a 1 year old, 38 pound mixed breed dog who looks like I am an Australian Cattle Dog/Whippet mix.  I was dumped on a back road in Bastrop Texas. A very compassionate woman found me and took me home with her. I am so easy-going that I fit into her home right away. It was clear that I'd had a recent litter of puppies. It was also clear that I was not cared for in my previous home. I was full of fleas and my fur was matted and covered in burrs. But I haven’t let my poor treatment affect my love of life and of people. I'm a very calm and relaxed girl who gets along great with other dogs, cats and kids. I simply love everyone I meet. Even though I am a calm girl, I am so full of joy that I do occasionally love to do the zoomies. It is quite a delight to watch me joyfully zip around. But my favourite thing to do is to cuddle with my person. My kind rescuer says I am the best behaved dog she has ever met. It is my greatest wish to please my person and make them happy with me.  I’d give anything to have a home of my own. I'm heartworm negative and am spayed and fully vaccinated. My adoption fee is $800. Disclaimer: It is important for all applicants to visit our website, http://www.lovedatlastdogrescue.ca/adopting/ and read about Loved at Last Dog Rescue. Please Note: LALDR highly encourages adopters to research some local dog trainers before their dog arrives. Although a 1-on-1 trainer is often not needed, it is good to have someone in mind in case any problematic behaviours arise. Most bad behaviours can be modified if caught early enough, so make sure to nip undesirable behaviours in the bud before they become serious problems. Basic training should be taken seriously, but should not begin until your dog is well settled in - at least a couple of weeks. After you feel your new dog is relaxed and comfortable in their new home, check out training courses in your local area. Even basic beginner courses like those taught at a local pet store can have a huge benefit in helping your dog learn to socialize and get used to being in public situations, all with the added benefit of strengthening their bond with you. The age and breed of a dog is usually an educated guess, so we are not able to guarantee the accuracy of age or breed of our dogs. Information included in the profile is provided to us from the international rescuer or local fosters. LALDR does not have access to overseas dogs and cannot always verify the accuracy of their descriptions. Every dog is an individual and can act differently in different situations based on the person adopting them and the environment in which they live. ##2122945##

Story
Raya is a young cattle dog cross that is 1.5 years old and approximately 37-40 lbs. she is a really nice medium sized dog. She loves all people, including children. and is extremely affectionate. If you like kisses and snuggles she is the dog for you. ***She would do best in a home with another dog or dogs, as she loves to play and looks to the resident dogs for guidance. *** She is sensitive, VERY smart, and extremely trainable. She has learned sit, look at me, shake a paw, other paw, wait, down, bow, play dead, leave it, get up here, crawl, crate, and go to bed (to name a few - there’s more) She is a natural at agility and is super FAST! She is house trained, crate trained, travels well in the car and likes to hang out with the family. She is a busy young girl that likes to run and play. That being said, she is quiet and calm in the house, and able to entertain herself with chews and toys when necessary. She does get excited when meeting other dogs and can at times be a little pushy. She is a herding dog and sometimes feels the need to move other dogs around. That being said, we have been making great progress encouraging quiet introductions. Her recall is 100% when no other dogs are present and it has been steadily improving when she is distracted. She is fabulous at the dog park when there are a small number of dogs and has a great play style. (Gets over stimulated if there is a large number of dogs) Raya is currently being fostered in Delta in a house with 2 resident dogs, and is very respectful of the older dog that is there. ** She MAY be able to live with a dog savvy cat but she hasn’t been tested. She has been exposed to horses on leash and did fine She is spayed and has all her shots We have a two week home trial If you are interested in Raya please apply https://www.theonedogrescue.ca/Application.php Or email Theonedogrescue@shaw.ca

Story
** Currently fostered in Houston Texas, but available for adoption out of state via rescue transportation, included in adoption fee. Offer Zoom call to virtually meet prior to adoption. Meet Barkley! This sweet baby wandered up on someone's property. He was wearing a harness on that had the brand name boots and barkley, so that's where the finder got his name. Barkley was chipped, but unfortunately it was not registered. It shows that he was adopted in January2023, and that he is estimated about 5 years of age. He currently weighs around 55 lbs and we believe him to be a border collie/cattle dog mix. He has energy and he loves to run and play, but can be a couch potato too. His favorite thing in the world is to play fetch with a ball! Barkley likes other dogs if they are female, but has not been a fan of males. We believe it's from a lack of social time with other dogs because he doesn't come off as just an aggressive pup, he just seems like he was kept in a yard and ignored a lot of the time prior to rescue and may not be familiar with most dogs. Barkley clearly knows his basic commands, such as sit, kennel, shake and settle. He is highly toy and food motivated and responds wonderfully to focused training. With continued training, we could even see him being an agility pup! Barkley is crate trained, housebroken and does well on leash. He is fully vetted, meaning he us neutered, up to date on all vaccines, microchipped and on monthly preventions for flea, tick and heartworm. For more information on how to adopt Barkley, contact us at MokasMission@Gmail.com for an application.
