Story
FOR ADOPTION: Our MOUNTAIN PEAK puppies: SEATON, EVELYN, ATNA, THOEN, HARVEY and HUDSON are ready to find their very special families. These beautiful babies are 14 weeks old and expected to mature in the 70-90lb range. Their mother is an Australian Cattle Dog and their presumed father is an Anatolian Shepherd Mix. These sweet babies are already close to 20lb each and so incredibly sweet and smart. They have a wide range of personalities from the timid and extremely submissive to the dominant and bossy and everything in between. We have a little something for every experience level. The entire litter are going to be a minimum of medium energy dogs when they are mature and they will make excellent hiking, trail riding, snowshoeing, and skiing partners. The more active of the bunch will even keep up mountain biking or downhill skiing once their bodies have fully developed. Every one of of Mountain Peak Pups are excellent cuddlers and they are quite comfortable with other dogs and children. None are showing precursors to separation anxiety or prey drive. This litter is already well on their way to being house broke, they are only pooping inside overnight and even then it’s minimal. They were vet checked this past Friday and found to be very healthy. They are now vaccinated, up to date on parasite control and ready to find their happily ever after a! If you’ve been looking for a large adventure buddy that also knows how to cuddle like a champion apply today at www.NWAS.ca for a chance to meet the MOUNTAIN PEAK PUPPIES #NWASMountainPeakPuppies

Story
Penny's s owner, has Stage 4 brain cancer. He is no longer able to care for her mentally or physically. Penny is between 7 and 8 years old. She was adopted from another family, just last February. She is loving and loyal. She is excellent on her leash and comes when called, off leash. Food must be kept out of her reach or kept in the cupboard. This little girl just needs a stable environment, a daily walk and love. She is intelligent and intuitive. No known health issues. She has an abundance of energy outdoors but settles down easily indoors.

Story
FOR ADOPTION: LIA is an adorable 10 month old female mixed breed looking for a fun and engaging forever family. Lia is just under 50lbs and chalked right full of fun and adventure. Lia came into our care because her first family just could not provide for the needs of a high energy young dog. In the right hands Lia will be the best adventure buddy and overall companion. This little lady is smart as a whip and full of life. She has caught onto basic obedience very quickly with a solid sit and off. She’s making fantastic progress with other commands such as down and wait and, with consistency, her leash skills are coming along quickly. Lia has a very strong nose and would do well in tracking or scent work type training. She has energy for days and will make a great jogging, hiking, biking and skiing buddy. A strong personal bond and reliable recall will need to be in place before she tries any of those things off leash. Lia is a very friendly dog that wants to love everyone but does need a little guidance with her social manners. She loves people of all ages and has lived with children previously. She does jump up when she is excited and would do best with older, dog savvy kids who are capable of setting firm special boundaries. Lia really wants to have dog friends. She is friendly and quite submissive but when she tries to get playing it’s obvious she’s not been well socialized with other dogs yet. She is looking for a playful and patient canine companion that will see her style of play (very herding breed type) for what it is and help her build confidence and skills interacting with other dogs. Lia was quite good with the cats at the shelter upon initial testing. She is submissive to them and possibly even a little fearful. We do think that as she becomes comfortable with a cat in her life she would also attempt to play with it so lots of human guidance while she learns how to coexist with cats will be required. Lia has been well mannered indoors. She is quiet in her kennel, nondestructive and clean. She also Seems to enjoy car rides for new adventures. She is now spayed, vaccinated and up to date on parasite control. If you’ve been looking for a smart and fun adventure tire buddy apply today at www.NWAS.ca for a chance to meet LIA #NWASLia

Story
Meet Apollo! Apollo is a 5-month-old male Heeler mix with a big personality packed into his current 20-pound frame. As a growing pup, he's still figuring out the world and making strides every day! Apollo is learning how to play with other dogs and, after a bit of initial shyness, he's all in for games like tag and keep-away. While he's curious and friendly, the hustle and bustle of younger kids can feel overwhelming for him, so older children would be a better fit. Apollo is a cat-friendly guy and walks beautifully on a leash, making him a fantastic companion for your adventures. One of Apollo's favorite spots is his kennel—it's his cozy safe haven where he eats, naps, and even hangs out voluntarily (even when the door is wide open!). He's a goofy, lovable pup who might trick himself into thinking his kennel is off-limits when it isn't. Apollo's house training is coming along well, though he's so excited to see his humans that he sometimes piddles a little in his joy. His favorite things include belly rubs, car rides, McDonald's cheeseburgers, and beef liver treats. If you're ready for a sweet, silly, and loyal companion, Apollo might just be your perfect match. Apply to meet Apollo today!
