Story
I am the most loyal doggo you will ever meet. If you don't want a shadow following you around in the shape of me, I'm not the dog for you. My favorite thing to do is play fetch outside. My humans say that I would literally collapse from exhaustion before I'd quit playing ball. I love to go for walks, get pets, and cuddle whenever possible. I do bark sometimes, but how else would I look out for you? I really am a lover, and just want to be the best boy I can be. A home with older children would be best. I have a lot of training and I learn new skills really quickly. I love being a working dog so give me a task or something to do and I'm on it. I lack manners at times, I like to barge through doors or open ones that are supposed to be closed but mainly because I just want to be involved. I've lived with other dogs, but I'd been around them multiple times (or grew up with them) so I'd suggest a slow and low energy introduction. Dog parks make me nervous and I can be reactive on leash to other dogs, so it's best that I don't go on walks with a lot of paw traffic or large crowds. I currently live with two children, under the age of two and frankly it stresses me out. Their quick movements, loud actions, and unpredictable behavior coupled with my breed as a herding dog, make it really hard for me to thrive in this environment. Older kids, where I can cuddle and they act more low key would probably be a better environment for me. I think the best place for me would be an older home, and possibly one where I can be spoiled rotten. I'm a comfort body so one that lets me on the couch and sleep in bed. Maybe a place with property so I can run around and cause trouble. I need a home with a lot of patience and love, because I need a lot and give a lot. I know how much my mom loves me, she's been my best friend since I was born and I know she's trying to give me the best chance to have the happiest life! I'd do best in a home with older children. My adoption fee includes a training program specific to my needs.

Story
Meet magnificent Jewel, a gorgeous 4 year old white heeler mix eager for fun! This active girl loves going on walks and making new furry friends along the way. Though she looks robust, Jewel enjoys keeping busy and will thrive in an equally energetic home. After playtime, this sweet girl is quite the cuddle bug, content to lazily chew on a toy or soak up some sunshine while resting. Jewel spent most of her recent life as a solo dog and will need some socialization to newcomers both human and animal. But she warms up quickly with proper introductions. Outgoing Jewel rides nicely in the car and makes an excellent alert companion, letting her people know whenever someone is at the door. All she wants is an active family to call her own that gives her plenty of devotion, playtime, and adventure together. Jewel will turned 4 in March - what better present than finding her happy furever home at last! If you’re seeking a loyal dog with just as much tenacious spirit as snuggly affection to give, look no further than darling Jewel! If you are interested in integrating Jewels into your family please apply at https://www.fromforgottentoforever.com/adoptionapplication/

Story
Tas is ready to find his furever home already! His siblings were adopted and he's been waiting since mid November for his people to take him home. He is an almost 7.5 mo heeler mix (the shelter said hound or shepherd mix and my dog scanner app says he has Ibezian Hound in him!) Tas is an old, grumpy soul in a young dogs body!  He's been working on his social skills with other dogs and has been doing fantastic!  He currently lives with other foster puppies and 2 adult fosters and they all get along great. Tas would be fine as an only dog, but would probaby prefer another dog that he could play with. He prefers slower intros to other dogs (so go for a walk together and then meet off leash in the backyard). He does protect his food from other dogs, so will need to be fed separately. He is potty trained and uses the dog door like a champ! Oh, and did I mention he is the perfect size? Only about 36 lbs. His current foster home is pretty chaotic (with dogs), so I think he would love to have a little less chaos and more peace and quiet. He has been around kids, but younger kids scare him, so older kids or no kids would be better. Tas loves to have his head scratched and get as much of the love as you want to give him.  When he doesn't feel like playing with the other pups, he keeps himself entertained by throwing a toy up in the air and chasing it!  He will need someone willing to continue to work with him on his dog greeting skills and offer confidence and support for him. Given a little patience, he's gonna be the bestest boy!  Can you give this boy his perfect home? Story
Moab is sweet and quirky! We have had him since he was 9 weeks old. He has always been unsure about new things, but has also always been an absolute love bug to all people he has met! He needs to be in a quieter home where he doesn't need to travel in the car much since he hates traveling in the car. He also must be in a home with no young children since they make him very nervous. He sees cats as squirrels, so not cats. He grew up with another heeler, but has always needed 1:1 meets with other dogs. He is also very intelligent and listens to commands well. He is an excellent walking or running buddy! He loves exploring a yard and spending as much time outside as he can get!

Story
We adopted Ruby as a puppy in October of 2019. Her temperament is sweet. She thinks she’s a 65lb lap dog and loves to eat. She is leash trained with a gentle leader and house trained. Her most recent vet visit was in October 2024 with vaccines are up to date. We have 2 other dogs and an ever growing family. Ruby has done well with our other dogs but has been aggressive with our other female dog a few times (usually over tight spaces, toys or food). She has also show aggression towards a friends’ dogs recently and for that we think it would be best for her to be an only dog. We believe she has a lot of love to give and would be a great dog to someone that has time to work with her.

Story
This pup was rescued from a high kill shelter in Texas. Meet and greets are by appointment only.  An approved application is required to schedule a meeting. Check out our events page for upcoming open adoption events! We have no additional back story or update for this dog at this time.  When we do, it will be updated here.  This is all the information we have currently. Approved Applicants may make the adoption fee payment by clicking donate above.  Partial adoption fees will not hold a dog. Dogs adopted with our rescue come with FREE training from #GoodPup to help you build strong bonds from the start! If upon meeting the dog of your choosing at your scheduled pickup time you find that you aren't a good match, your deposit will be fully refunded. Adoption fees include vaccines up until time of adoption, microchip, spay/neuter and 1st 30 days of free pet insurance.  We are not affiliated with MetLife pet insurance. (you have to sign up for the insurance or it will not go into effect).  Adoption fees help cover the medical care of the animals while he or she waits for a new home, as well as food and transportation costs. These fees help to provide care for the other animals in the shelter or rescue group who may have medical bills that are much higher than any possible adoption fee. The money also acts as a donation to help support the organization as a whole, allowing the group to continue its efforts to rescue and rehome pets. The dogs in our care are fostered in Colorado, Texas, and New Mexico.  While all dogs are picked up during our scheduled times, sometimes transport dates change due to unforeseen circumstances.   More questions?  Read our FAQs here: https://4p4l.org/faqs/  Breed labels are a "best guess" by a shelter veterinarian and cannot be guaranteed.  A new study has concluded that (in layman's terms), breed assumption is NOT indicative of behavior in mixed breed dogs.  Therefore, if a dog looks presumably to be a German Shepherd breed, one cannot assume the dog will have a high prey drive.  From the study: "Although many physical traits were associated with breeds, behavior was much more variable among individual dogs. In general, physical trait heritability was a greater predictor of breed but was not necessarily a predictor of breed ancestry in mutts. Among behavioral traits, biddability—how well dogs respond to human direction—was the most heritable by breed but varied significantly among individual dogs. Thus, dog breed is generally a poor predictor of individual behavior and should not be used to inform decisions relating to selection of a pet dog" - https://www.science.org/doi/10.1126/science.abk0639 ##2340330##

Story
I'm a lovely senior Mini Aussie / mix with one blue eye. I will come to your home with my best buddy Jerry! We are Ben & Jerry! We need to stay together. I love humans and really enjoy scratches. I am crate trained, know some basic commands, and love to go on walks. I am potty trained, but did have a few accidents when I first came to my foster home, most likely to the change in diet and stress of a new living situation. I am a bit overweight, but my foster is working hard to rectify that much to my disappointment, because I like cookies a lot. I like going for walks and getting scratched and of course getting cookies. I'm not quite as confident as my brother Jerry, but if he's getting attention, I definitely want a piece of the action too. I am fine with other dogs but can be a bit reserved, choosing instead to hang with my brother or other quiet members of my foster-pack. I have been living with several cats and don't pay attention to them at all. I'm not sure if I like kids, but as long a they are respectful, I'm pretty sure I would. I don't play much with toys, but I love to chew on cow hooves. My Adoption Fee includes a training program specific for my needs.

Please contact Constance (connibouchard@gmail.com) for more information about this pet.Rescued dogBiography Important Information Please read! If you are interested in me after reading about me, please visit my site, http://www.breederadoptions.org and follow the instructions. The majority of the dogs we rescue, mostly breeder dogs, have lived their entire lives in less-than-ideal conditions so will need to be socialized, house and leash trained. Most have never lived in a house, walked on a leash, had a treat or sat in a lap. For many of them, their feet have never touched the ground after living for years on wire until they arrive at our main facility where they are evaluated, groomed and given vet care. Most of these dogs are not socialized and need to be cornered to be picked up, so are not suitable for people with physical disabilities or suffer from PTSD. They need folks who will make them the center of their world and help them learn to trust before even attempting to train.  Please do not apply if you do not meet the requirements of the dogs we rescue.  However, they will learn with time, love, patience and most of all, commitment. You must have an ample supply of all of these to reap the rewards of watching these very special dogs become your wonderful companion. We state any known health issues, all are altered unless there is a medical reason not to, which we will advise, any known medical issues addressed, are microchipped, are UTD on all vaccines and have been checked out by at least one veterinarian, usually two. We do not guarantee the health of any of our rescued dogs. The dogs we rescue have lived with other dogs all of their lives and most get along with other dogs. We state if they are dog aggressive. We require a permanent, full-time parent. That means you must be able to spend the majority of your time with your new companion to socialize and train. We do not, under any circumstances, place them in homes with young children as they have not been exposed to children, and we do not know how they will react. Please do not waste your time or ours if you are not prepared to adopt within 2 weeks and you are not willing to pick the dog up at its location. Hi! My name is Cupcake , and I am a beautiful Australian Shepherd girl who was born 12/8/23, and I weigh 43 pounds. I am a working breed so I must have a large, secure yard or acreage with a sibling to help me lean about this big new world.  If you have been waiting for a gorgeous Aussie, please ask for me on your application to http://www.breederadoptions.org. Story
Arlo is a healthy and highly energetic 5-year-old Purebred Blue Merle Australian Shepard. Arlo needs a rural home where he can look out at the horizon, patrol the fence line, and bark; with no neighbors close by that would be annoyed. While Arlo has never been aggressive with family or guests (he is quite sweet), his exuberant running through doors makes him unsuitable for a home with young children or any frail person, as he might bump into them. Arlo currently spends the night in a walkout basement in a pen, spends some time with family in the house, and otherwise is outside. When in the house Arlo alternates between pacing and laying down. Arlo butts in if another family dog is getting pets or attention - although not in a mean way. Arlo is reactive to unknown dogs while on a leash, so he is not suitable for leash walking or hiking. We may be willing to deliver Arlo to the right home / person.
