Story
Milo is a sweet young energetic and affectionate 2-year-old dog. We have been advised he is a working dog like a heeler. He was hit by a car, and I took him in after surgery and have had him for a year while he recovered. I have had him neutered and he has had his rabies shot. However, I now have major health issues and cannot give him the attention he needs. He will go in a crate when you are not home. He does know how to sit, shake, and stay, but still needs work on the stay portion. He is house broken and plays well with other dogs his size. I have not had him around small dogs but know he cannot be in cat home. My brother takes him for walks 5 days a week and he loves it, but in the afternoon, he is ready to go again, and I cannot take him out walking.

Meet Apollo! Apollo is a 5-year-old Cattle Dog mix. If you're looking for the perfect companion, you can choose any adventure you want with this dog. He loves the car so pick a park, pick a kayak, pick a trail - He's ready to go. At home, he's good for zoomies in the yard or settling down for cozies on the couch. He might look a little serious, but he's very affectionate. He's a straightforward dog with simple needs. At his age and maturity level, he does not need to be entertained or exercised all day. He is not a groupie, he just needs his "person", his BFF. Apollo requires a physically fenced in yard and a home without other animals. A graduate of the Paws Behind Bars program, Apollo was awarded the highest praise for his learning. All the volunteers rave how sweet Apollo is and now he is ready for you! LENNOX is a 2 year old, female cattle dog mix. She weighs 39 lbs. She was originally adopted out as a puppy and came back when she hit her "terrible teens". Those days are now long gone and she has blossomed into a lovely, young lady. Our Paws Behind Bars prison dog training program was just what she needed. Here, the rules are the rules and slowly, but surely, Lennox started to fall into line. Cattle dogs are a very task driven breed and obedience training was actually what she needed. She also polished up her social skills. Her "perfect fit" home will be an active one with older children. (cattle dogs will always want to herd). A fenced in yard is a must so she can get the proper amount of exercise. She loves people and thrives on obedience and structure. Meet Beethoven! He was born on 12/17/21. He is a purebred ACD and is registered with the North American Purebred Registry. He is completely deaf (confirmed by our vet). He is UTD on vaccinations as well. He is a sweet boy, aims to please and loves to be loved. He does not get along with other male dogs! We are unsure if he likes cats (we do not have any). He needs a home with property where he can run and to live his best life. Please help us find his forever home.

Two Loving Blue Heelers Looking for Separate Homes We have two 7-month-old Blue Heelers that need separate, loving homes due to litter mate syndrome. These are amazing dogs—smart, loyal, and great with children—but they are better suited to homes where they can thrive individually. Details: Temperament: Friendly, loving, and attentive. They listen well and are eager to please. Behavior: They do have a strong herding instinct and will chase sheep, so a home without livestock is ideal. Like most puppies, they occasionally chew on things in the yard. Health: They are not fixed yet and are in good health. We have a toddler and another baby on the way, which makes it difficult to give them the individual attention they need. These pups will make wonderful companions for the right families.
