Story
Meet Jordy, a sweet and gentle soul with adorably large ears and an even bigger heart! Jordy's journey started with hardship when he and his siblings were sadly abandoned. While his siblings have found their forever homes, Jordy is now ready for his chance to snuggle his way into yours. Initially shy around new faces, Jordy blossoms into a loving companion once he feels safe and secure with "his people." He's a true cuddle bug and will happily curl up on the couch with everyone. Interestingly, in his foster home, Jordy seems to do particularly well with toddlers, perhaps finding comfort in their predictable energy. He can be more nervous around older children who move more quietly, and may need a little extra time to feel comfortable around them. However, he is showing great progress as he and the older kids learn each other's cues and his foster family has seen positive adaptation from both sides. Jordy also finds immense comfort and confidence in the company of other dogs and would thrive in a home with canine friends. Bonus: he's cat-friendly! He's shown no interest in chasing the resident cat and completely ignores them. Jordy is crate and house-trained and is waiting for a patient and understanding adopter who can continue to help him build his confidence and navigate interactions with children. Could you be the one to help this deserving boy shine and share your couch? Jordy's adoption fee is $400 plus MN tax which covers his neuter, vaccinations, microchip and any additional medical care he may have needed while in the rescue’s care. We are a foster based rescue, we do not house dogs at a facility. Age and breed are NLR's best guess as we often don't know who or what mom and dad are. If you are interested in adopting, please fill out an application on our website. www.northernlakesrescue.org

He`s a three-year-old, 53-pound Australian Cattle Dog mix who came to the shelter all the way from Texas. He`s been at the shelter for 150 DAYS and is being so patient and good as he waits for his family. This boy bonds hard with those who show him love. He likes to run straight up to you for scratches and pets and gives many kisses in return. Rocky is a very food-motivated boy who sits nicely when you have a treat. Before arriving at The Babinski Foundation, Rocky lived with a loving foster who stated that he was fully potty trained with a proper routine! He did so well in a home environment, showing that he was such a sweet, sensitive, loyal, and loving boy.Rocky is neutered, microchipped, and up to date on his vaccines. Story
Meet Fett, a 6-year-old energetic and loyal friend! Fett is looking for a foster or foster to adopt home where he can thrive. He's a playful pup who loves to run and fetch (especially balls!). 🎾 He's lived with cats, dogs, and children. 🔊Fett is a vocal boy who loves to let you know when he's excited or feeling a bit unsure with strangers and other dogs. He's learning to communicate his feelings clearly and calmly. 🏠 Fett appreciates a calm and respectful approach and doesn't like to be startled or cornered. Continuing to work on the "Place" command will help Fett have a place where he can feel safe in. 👶 Fett's herding instincts are a natural part of who he is, so it's important for his human companions to understand and respect his boundaries. Polite and dog-savvy children who can learn to interact with him calmly and respectfully will be essential to building a happy and harmonious relationship.

Story
This little beauty is Bristol. AKA Luca, Luca B or Lukey. To our best knowledge, she was born in January 2020 in Cleveland, Texas. Like many dogs that end up in rescue, she was part of a litter of puppies that were simply unwanted. She spent the first year of her life living in an outdoor pen unaltered with two of her brothers. Luca came to Minnesota almost three years ago and she's lived here knowing nothing but love and kindness. She has always been a very fun and happy girl and she loves being the boss of her current furry brothers. She also loves her human sister immensely. She doesn't mind the cat but she does bark at him when he walks by her kennel at night. Unfortunately, the house that she lives in is very busy and there is a lot of increased activity as her human sister gets older. Luca has shown that she does not handle the commotion or change very gracefully. We have been working with her for a while however she is a herding breed dog and takes her excitement out in the form of nipping much like you would see in a cattle dog on a farm. Her family has sadly decided it would be best for her if she could live out her days on a farm or with an active human or couple of humans. Luca is kennel trained, potty trained, walks great on a leash, loves going camping and loves to cuddle and give kisses. Just don't squeeze her too tight because she doesn't like it. We know the perfect family is out there for her and until we find it, she's safe with her current family. We truly want the best for her! Bristol's adoption fee is $400 plus MN tax which covers her spay, vaccinations, microchip and any additional medical care she may have needed while in the rescue's care. We are a foster based rescue, we do not house dogs at a facility. Age and breed are NLR's best guess as we often don't know who or what mom and dad are.
