DOB: 8/1/24                                  Current Weight(as of  01/06/24):  40 Lbs Adoption Fee: $200 includes 1 week trial to ensure everyone's happiness. FULLY VACCINATED! HAVE RECEIVED ALL PUPPY VACCINES + RABIES! Herschel and his siblings were dumped in a park in Nevada, MO.  The shelter did find the owners and were told  they were not able to care for them, so they dumped them.  They are 51% Boxer, 30% Heeler, 15% Australian Shepherd and 4% Border Collie. These pups will need an active home with a fenced yard.  His foster parents found he loves watching TV, and has such a cute faces as he is watching. They have been calling him Buddy because he wants to be by his people or his foster sisters at all times. Very energetic, loves toys, and cuddles. He is very respectful of his older foster sisters, and does take corrections quite well. Herschel is working on housetraining, but still needs some time and patience. He would do well in a home with other dogs, and would be perfectly fine with kids. While he is a bit timid at first, he warms up quickly and just wants to be loved. Puppies are NOT housebroken and should not be expected to wait more than 1 hour for each month of age to go out to potty. Please make sure that you have a “potty plan” in place if considering adoption. All of our puppies have been spay/neuter, wormed, microchipped, and given age appropriate vaccinations. If you are interested in meeting/adopting one of them just fill out a application at www.furrykidsrefuge.org, click on the 'Adopt A Dog' icon and a dedicated volunteer will be in touch.  Furry Kids' Refuge is in need of good quality dog and puppy food with meat as the first ingredient.  You can drop off donations at our weekly adoption events at the Lee's Summit Petco (1860 NW Chipman Road, Lee's Summit, MO), Saturdays only from 11am to 2:00 p.m.  Donations are tax deductible as allowed by law.  Would you like to foster a Furry Kid? Furry Kids' Refuge will supply the food & vet care while you supply the basic house rules & love.......win-win for all!!  Just visit our website http://www.furrykidsrefuge.org/category/fostering/  for more information. Thanks for your support! DOB: 8/1/24        Current Wht(as of 3/15/25):  45 Lbs Adoption Fee: $200 includes 2 week trial to ensure everyone's happiness. FULLY VACCINATED! HAVE RECEIVED ALL PUPPY VACCINES + RABIES! Harry and his siblings were dumped in a park in Nevada, MO.  The shelter did find the owners and were told  they were not able to care for them, so they dumped them.  They are 51% Boxer, 30% Heeler, 15% Australian Shepherd and 4% Border         I'm the foster mom of Harry and I can tell you that he is one of the sweetest pups I've ever fostered.  When he came to me he was so scared of everything.  It took me 2  weeks of holding him on my lap, petting and talking softly to him.  He came out of his shyness with me and I'm happy to say he is building more confidence every Saturday . Harry has learned to walk well wearing his harness.  He will go home with a harness,  collar and leash when he is adopted. Harry is fantastic with ALL dogs.  He respects the older dogs that might not like his playfulness and loves playing with the others. We have a huge kong brand ball that has a rope thru it that he loves playing tug with. He will carry it around to each dog until one plays. He loves Nyla bones and chews.  They make some that are for tougher chewers and he loves them. Harry still needs to be watched when in the house because of the chewing. Just make sure he has his chews and you will be happy. Harry loves having his crate available to him when he wants to take a nap.  It's really sweet.  He will sleep on his back at the back of the crate.  Harry knows the sit an he off commands.  He will sit while waiting for his meal and when ever we ask him to.  He is very treat motivated and that helps with training. Harry enjoys sitting next to us on the couch and especially when we are watching TV because he loves it.  Give this sweet boy a chance to be a great companion to your family.  Fill out the application! Approx DOB: 7/4/22    Approx weight: 40pds Adoption Fee $175 includes a 2 week trial. NO CATS.... she has a strong prey drive so probably no small animals that size or smaller to be safe Della is a super smart dog and really wants to please her people. Della is well behaved in the home and knows good house manners. It seems day by day her personality is coming out and we can tell she just wants her own family.   She is housebroken and crate trained.  We are working on leash training and she is doing better day by day on our walks.  Della does great with dogs medium size but seems to want to dominate some dogs that are larger then her.  We are still working with her on learning how to be friends with those sizes. She loves toys especially balls.    Della has been spayed, vaccinated, heartworm tested negative and microchipped.  If you are interested in adopting me, please complete the adoption application located at www.furrykidsrefuge.org/adoptadog and a dedicated volunteer will get back to you as soon as possible. Story
Let Cami be the queen of your castle! She is such a sweet, shy girl who wants desperately to be loved and we have no doubt that she will steal your heart. She enjoys peaceful activities with her people. (Check out her fishing adventure in Minnesota last winter!) It's going to take Cami a bit to trust and she'd appreciate a home where there aren't a bunch of visitors coming and going. While she can be picky about her canine friends, a super social dog might just do the trick. Of course, Cami would be perfectly satisfied being your one and only, too. Either way, she promises to love you to the moon and back! Cami's around eight years old and is a very polite house guest. She's quiet, doesn't get into things she shouldn't, and already knows to do her business outside. Call or text The Pet Connection at 913-671-7387 for more info on Cami. She's staying with us in Beloit, Kansas, but transport is available to the right home. #thepetconnection #adoptdontshop #socute #happy

Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. Please contact Renee (renees@tarasdream.org) for more information about this pet. Please visit our web site at https://tarasdream.org/adopt to fill out an adoption application for this pet and for more info about our adoption process.  Stevie, Slinky and Stuart were born in a shed and raised with little human contact or enrichment. They are now in loving foster homes learning how to be a carefree puppy, cuddled, walked, fed regularly and often to put on some weight. We do know the mom is a heeler and dad is a border collie so experience with herding breeds is a plus if you are considering these pups for your family. They are smart, like to be kept busy or have a job, so training will be critical to their ongoing growth and happiness. Stevie is blooming every day being fostered with other canines and cats. She is a great explorer of her environment (inside and outside) and learning to trust and seek human attention. Stevie is not opposed to forced snuggling on the couch and loves head, ear and belly scratches. She sleeps through the night in a kennel near the humans – it’s tough going from a pile of siblings to sleeping by herself and she’ll happily tell you all about it. Car rides are new and a little scary right now. She will get the hang of it with more opportunities. Stevie will need patient, loving and fun humans to continue to teach her all the good things about puppy manners and living in a family. Approximate Birthdate:   November 2024 Adoption Fee: $200 TARA's adoption fee includes: spay/neuter, age appropriate vaccinations, microchip, heartworm test (if age appropriate), heartworm and flea prevention, and deworming.  TARA's pets are all eligible for a TWO WEEK TRIAL. Due to the fact that many of our dogs come from the local city shelters, we do not know the background of many of them and therefore cannot always guarantee age or breed.  Size is subjective but we use the following guidelines: Small 1-20 pounds, Med 20-50 pounds, Large 50-80 pounds, Extra Large over 80 pounds.     For more information please fill out an application.     CONTACT INFO The Animal Rescue Alliance (TARA) Web site: tarasdream.org Adoption Information & Applications: https://tarasdream.org/adopt Upcoming Adoption Events: https://tarasdream.org/events Email: email@tarasdream.org February 5, 2025, 3:34 pm
