Story
Meet Precious Polly!  She is a fun loving girl who has been looking for her home for a long time. She came into our rescue when she was 13 years old, and now she is 15 years old, but still has the ability to be mischievous, playful and love her humans. She loves other dogs and cats and would love to have some fur-friends in her new homes. She is a beautiful, sweet and good girl that deserves a second chance at love and a family for the final years of her life. She has some age-related issues, and takes Proin daily, which costs around $40 per month. She requires a diet without Chicken, as the feathered animals upset her stomach. Speaking of feathered animals, she would not do well in a home with fowl or other wildlife since she tends to chase them, even at her age! If you are interested in Polly, please complete an adoption application at lastdaydogs.comDecember 30, 2024, 9:38 pm

Story
“You can’t resist reading Pointer’s profile  because he is so darn cute, but Pointer isn’t for everyone. Pointer is a Blue Heeler mix, weighing in at less than 30 lbs. Just like bigger herding dogs, Pointer likes to chase, herd, nip heels and is very strong-willed. Pointer needs lots of exercise and must have mental stimulation throughout the day. He enjoys learning commands and working on his obedience commands and would make an excellent agility, nose work, scent work or other sport participant. Pointer is not a couch potato and when left to entertain himself, he can get into trouble. Pointer needs a person who is experienced with herding breeds or dogs who are competitive in sports and are not put off by his strong personality.  With the right person, Pointer can be the ultimate friend!  I would not be a candidate for an apartment, condo/townhome or a home without a fence. If interested in giving me a forever home please complete an application at www.safeanimalhaven.com Australian Cattle Dog/Blue Heeler Characteristics Standing between 17 to 20 inches at the shoulder, the Australian Cattle Dog is a sturdy, hard-muscled herder of strength and agility. The ACD is born with a white coat that turns blue-gray or red. Both coat varieties feature distinctive mottling or specking patterns. ACDs have immense work drive and excel at hunting, chasing, and, of course, moving livestock. Their boundless energy and supple gait make them excellent running partners.ACDs are true-blue loyal, famously smart, ever alert, and wary of strangers. If an ACD isn’t challenged, he easily becomes bored and gets into mischief. It is recommended that ACD owners participate with their dog in some work, sport, or regular exercise to keep him mentally and physically fit.November 5, 2024, 12:12 am

She is a loving pup who does well with other dogs. Story
This sweet girl came to us after a house fire-- her owner passed away due to smoke inhalation, because he kept going back inside to get his dogs. Unfortunately, no family stepped up to help. June has been very loved, and she needs someone who will love her as much as her former owner did. June has a fresh scar on her neck, likely from a melted collar or something falling on her in the fire. Despite the horrific events she's been through, June is a happy, sweet girl. Her foster reports that she's quiet and mellow, but has plenty of energy for playing fetch. She hasn't been around kids with us but will likely be fine. She lived with multiple other dogs in her first home so we assume she's dog friendly, although she hasn't had much socialization yet, as she just got spayed. She's easy for a heeler and just the cutest thing ever. June is about 2-3 years old, spayed, vaccinated, less than knee high, and a little chubby-- we expect her to be around 30lbs after she slims down. She's had a couple of accidents, but with the sudden and drastic change in her life, it's understandable. Her foster home is confident that she's potty trained, just trying to adjust to all the changes. If you can give June the wonderful, loving home she so deserves, please visit our website and fill out an application: www.northmeckanimalrescue.org
