Here's what the humans have to say about me: Meet Major Say hello to Major! Major is an adorable Jack Russell terrier mix puppy who is approximately 10 months old and currently weighs 30 pounds. He was found on the side of the road with his two brothers in south Texas near the border of Mexico. The puppies were starving, covered with fleas and ticks and were just in terrible condition. Thankfully a private rescuer was able to help these puppies and get them into our care. They have come a very long way and are doing great now! He loves everyone he meets and is always ready for adventure! He has the best time playing with his toys and enjoys romping around the play yard with the other dogs in his play group. Major is a sweet, social, smart and we can really see him doing in just about any family environment! Major is located at our rescue in Hondo, Texas. He is neutered, up to date on all shots, microchipped and his adoption fee is $375. A meet and greet will be arranged with an approved application. *Major tested positive for Chagas disease and has started his treatment. This is completely curable after treatment and dogs can go on to live long and happy lives. Meet Auburn Introducing Auburn! Auburn is a beautiful Cattle Dog / Heeler mix who is approximately 2 years old and currently weighs 30 pounds. We rescued this gorgeous gal from the Hondo, TX shelter and although we don’t really know much bout he background, it is clear that people have not always been very kind to her. During her spay surgery, our vet discovered that she had been shot in the leg with a pellet gun. All of that is behind her now and we are excited to help this sweet girl find the loving home she deserves. Auburn is a gentle and curious gal who does have a little bit of a warm-up period when meeting new people. She is very friendly but needs someone who will go slow with her so that she can feel comfortable knowing that she will be treated kindly. Once she feels safe, she loves getting attention and affection. She gets along well with the other dogs in her playgroup and does need a home where she has another non-dominant canine companion. She loves to run and play and would love to have another dog to help show her the ropes in her new home. She would do best in a quiet home without small children where she can get comfortable and settle in. With patience and lots of love we know Auburn will blossom and become a wonderful, loving companion to her new family. Auburn is located at our rescue in Hondo, Texas. The name is Tate, but my friends around here call me "Tater Tot" and "Tater" because I remind them of a potato in the best way possible , probably because of my round fluffy body and sweet personality that makes you feel all happy and mushy inside. Anyways, since we're on the topic of potatoes, I gotta say that I am your ideal couch potato! If you're looking for a laid back dude to cuddle on the couch with while watching movies and eating some snacks, I'm your guy. Even though I am a bit of a lazy guy, I ain't gonna sleep on snuggles! I love to lean my head and sometimes my whole body on you when I want some snuggles.
