Story
This little boy is currently living his best life in a foster home where he is being taught all the right things. He is living very successfully with a bigger dog and a smaller dog. He is being taught about potty training and how to interact appropriately on a leash. This little boy is eager to learn and eager to love. We are looking for adopters that are familiar with the breed, for someone who is going to be committed to teaching this puppy who to be a great dog. This breed is known to be very active, to require engagment from their owners, they are not couch potatoes. Story
So Buster just recently came to the CHS family. This guy is still learning the ropes of living in a home with other dogs. Being a 10 week old puppy, he is learning to walk on a leash, be potty trained and in general how to be brave and to socialize. We are looking for homes for these guys that understand the breed, they are energetic and will require someone who is going to want to be committed to them. If you are interested in meeting Buster please feel free to email adoption@columbiahumane.org These puppies will have to return to the shelter at least two more times to complete their vaccination series. These puppies will go home on a Spay/neuter contract. They will be altered when they reach 6 months of age and will have to return to St.Helens for that procedure. The adoption fee is $500 which is due at the time the puppy goes into foster to adopt you. The fee includes all vaccinations for the first year, current on flea treatment, microchipped, and treated for worms as well as being altered. For more information call 503-397-4353 or email adoption@columbiahumane.orgMarch 23, 2025, 4:20 pm

Story
This lovely little boy is currently exceling in his foster home with other dogs, and little kids. I am learning to be potty trained, to walk on a leash and to be respectful. We are looking for homes who have an understanding of the breed. These puppies will not be couch potatoes, they will need someone who is ready to train, who is ready to engage and who is willing to work to make him the best kiddo he can be. If you are interested in meeting him we ask that you please email adoption@columbiahumane.org in order to obtain an application. Once we have an approved application on file we will then schedule a time for you to come and meet. Due to these being puppies they will need to return to the shelter at least two more times to complete their vaccination series. They will also be going home on a neuter contract which will state that CHS will provide the neuter at 6 months of age. The adoption fee is $500 that must be paid at the time the puppy goes into the home. Once the neuter is complete then we will complete the actual adoption process. For more information call 503-397-4353 or email adoption@columbiahumane.orgMarch 23, 2025, 4:20 pm

Story
Mary Jane is a spayed cattle dog mix. She’s 3-4 years old, and 40 lbs. She’s grown up with kids but is territorial in and around their home towards other people and kids. Outside her own neighborhood she’s shy and needs some time to warm up to new dogs and people. She’s nervous but interested in other dogs. She chases cats. MJ is obedient, smart, food-motivated, and great with her family and kids. Owners have tried a dog trainer but simply don’t have the time to devote to exposure and advanced training. She goes to the dog sitters homes and after a 15 minute warmup period does well with other dogs. If you’re interested in a fun little dog that needs her own person, please fill out an application at sccpets.com (at no cost or obligation to you). Her adoption donation is $200.If you are interested in adopting, please fill out an adoption application.February 10, 2025, 2:49 pm

Story
Hi my name is Odinn! I am nearly 5 years old and I am an energetic boy who likes to cruise around the yard and play all the time until i take a long nap. I would do great with someone who is active, has a fenced yard, and willing to keep up with my pace. I do not like small spaces so I do not like to be crated but I’m perfectly fine to be left alone in the house. I still need some work on a leash because I can get so excited. I do not chew or tear up anything I shouldn’t. If you give me an Amazon box, I love to help chew those up to fit better in the recycling bin. I would do best in a home with no other animals and children only over 10 years old. Swimming is my favorite activity! I also enjoy going to 1000 acres dog park, paddle boarding, hiking, camping, playing in the rain/snow, and any puzzle game you provide. I am very smart, affectionate, fearless, and a huge people person. You coming home to me is the best part of my day besides getting to adventure with you.

Story
Video: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ow1snfQd7sg&t=1s Las Vegas is a beautiful girl who had to raise not one but two litters at an abandoned house. Look at the video to see when I first found them. She had 3 older puppies and 3 babies with her. She weighs around 35 lbs and is great with other dogs. She is ok around cats, not aggressive, but will chase them if they run, so no kitties in her home. She is very submissive with humans and mostly with other dogs as well. The only time she can get a little dominant is when it comes to feeding time (only with other dogs, not with humans) but can you really blame her? She had to fend for herself and all of her babies and make sure she and them don't starve. She is fed with several other dogs and there are no actual issues, she just growls sometimes and wants to eat first or have her own bowl, but she has NEVER attacked or gone beyond growling. She is such a sweet and deserving little momma and she should finally get a break and get some rest in her very own home with her very own family. She is currently still in Oklahoma where she was rescued but he can only be adopted out of state where people treat animals well. She has to be prepaid and picked up directly from transport at one of our transport drop off locations below. If things don't work out for some reason, which rarely ever happens, we will either find a local foster to take her in or she will go back to Oklahoma on our next transport until a new home is found. www.facebook.com/desideratarescue/reviews Transport locations: - Washington State (Kennewick, Lynnwood/Edmonds, Seattle/Tacoma) - Oregon (Portland and Springfield) - Colorado (Ft Lupton) - Idaho (Heyburn and Boise/Meridian) - Utah (Ogden) - Wyoming (Evanston, Rock Springs, Laramie) - Illinois (Vandalia) - Indiana (Spiceland) - Ohio (Columbus) - Pennsylvania (Pittsburgh and Harrisburg) - New York (Buffalo and Albany) - Connecticut (Enfield) Adoption fee: $485 (includes the $250 cost of transport from Oklahoma) Adoption application: https://form.jotform.com/82677586784176 Desiderata Rescue is Oklahoma Licensed Rescue #95
