Story

Lucy is a sweet and kind rescue dog I found strolling at a restaurant in January after days of rain, drinking the wastewater at the side of the building. The staff mentioned she was there over a week and they, sadly, believed she was waiting for her owners to return. After taking her to the vet, she concluded she had been used for breeding and was abandoned after being over-bred. She also tested positive for heartworms - but is now officially heartworm free (WHOO HOO!) and ready for her forever home! She will need a final checkup for her heartworm treatment in April, and will also need to be spayed, but I'm open to talking through those with anyone interested in her. She is 3 years old and we gave her a birthday of 5/6/2021 and currently weights 59 pounds. She has some protective dominance we've been working through and has very much improved her separation anxiety from being abandoned. She really just needs a loving space with someone who can show her fun, affection, and patience

Wilson's owners lost their home when he was just a puppy. They brought him to the shelter, and there he stayed for 14 months—more than half his life! But he was a favorite, playing with other dogs, swimming in the kiddie pool, and even practicing Search and Rescue work! The shelter is no place for a puppy. We didn't want Wilson to grow up in a cage. So we rescued him, and he's now having fun with our friends at Humble K9. Wilson is an enthusiastic dude who loves activity. (We think he might have some herding dog in him somewhere.) Neighborhood walks, trail runs—even agility training. Wilson's down to try it. He's a people pleaser who isn't just a dog--he's a Partner!
