Story
Zoey is an energetic, intelligent young female who loves fetching frisbees and tennis balls and chewing on her chew toys. She enjoys playing with other dogs and being with her people, but is not chill with cats. After getting some exercise she will lie at my feet for several hours while I work at my desk. She is crate-trained, leash-trained, and food-motivated, and is learning to calm down her excitement when she sees other dogs and people walking in the park behind our house. Zoey was rescued from a high-kill shelter in Houston, Texas. She was picked up as a stray and her age is estimated at 2 years. She is spayed, heartworm negative, and current on vaccinations and weighs 41 pounds. She has mastered basic commands and would benefit from additional training and enrichment activities. Her ideal forever home would have a fenced back yard and loving pet parents who enjoy working with her, taking her for walks, and letting her hang out with them in the house.

Training: M aggie has basic training under her belt, which means she knows commands like sit, stay, and come. She's also house-trained and walks well on a leash. What to Expect When Adopting a Dog: Adopting a dog is a rewarding experience that comes with responsibilities and joys. Here are some things to consider: Adjustment Period: Every dog needs time to adjust to their new home. Be patient with Maggie as she learns to trust and feel secure in her new environment. Time and Commitment: Dogs require daily exercise, mental stimulation, and social interaction. Make sure you have the time to devote to Maggie's needs, including playtime, training, and walks. Veterinary Care: Regular check-ups, vaccinations, and preventative care are essential to keep Maggie healthy. Be prepared for both routine and unexpected veterinary visits. Story
Junie, Australian Shepherd/Heeler, 4.5 yrs., 35 lbs. Junie is a very loving and loyal dog. She is the boss and loves keeping Cooper in line. She likes to go on walks and explore with him. She gets along with other dogs great, but she will growl when she has had her fill. She will not nip or bite. She is a bit more relaxed and laid back than Cooper, but still loves to play around with him. She also is a bit of an attention hog. She will stare through your soul until you acknowledge her. She is very in tune with human emotion and will snuggle with you when you are sad. She’s a very sweet soul. She also may be more human than dog. Cooper, Blue Heeler, 4.5 yrs., 40-45 lbs. Cooper tends to be shy at first but warms up pretty quick. He has a lot of energy and loves playing with Junie going on walks and exploring with her. He LOVES attention. He is a very loving and loyal dog with the silliest personality. I think he may be more human than dog. He gets along with other dogs but does take a minute to acclimate to them. He loves to give kisses (I think he was a lizard in his past life…hahaha). They are a bonded pair. They have grown up together and I would hate to separate them. They are soulmates and I would love for them to stay together. I understand that this is a lot to ask, but they are so worth it! We are having to re-home them due to a move across the country. This means we will be living out of a small camper and traveling all over the southeast. I don’t feel that this is a fair life for my pups to live. They love to run and play and wouldn't get this freedom if they come with us.
