Story
Meet Teddy, a 2-year-old Kelpie mix who’s ready to start his next chapter! His story? It’s been a rollercoaster. Teddy was heartlessly thrown out by his former family, but a kind-hearted college student stepped in to give him a safe spot. When they tried to return him, his old family coldly turned him away, saying they didn’t want him back. The student tried their best, but with a strict landlord threatening eviction, they had no choice but to bring Teddy to Famous Fido Rescue. Now Teddy’s looking for someone who’s down to match his vibe – he’s a smart, active dude who’s all about those daily walks and playtime sessions. He’s got tons of potential and just needs someone to show him what being part of a real family feels like. If you’re up for a loyal, loving sidekick who’ll stick by you through thick and thin, Teddy might be your guy!

Sad (maddening) story - but we are certain there will be a happy ending! Fannie was adopted from Mag Mutts back in October 2023 at approximately 4 months old. This week she was found roaming the streets and was brought to a shelter who scanned her microchip and found her owner's information. The sad part is that it was determined they did not want her anymore and let her loose and alone to fend for herself.  The good news is she is back with us and is a sweet, energetic girl that just wants love, attention and a 'forever' home (this time)! Fannie is now between 1-2 years old and a great medium size at about 45lbs. She loves to play and run so a fenced yard would be best for her to be able to expel her still puppy like energy!  Any active family who enjoys running would have a great partner! We recommend obedience training for all dogs!    **Breed or size (once fully grown) is a 'best guess' and is not guaranteed since they arrived into rescue without either parent. **Magnificent Mutts is an all foster home based rescue and meets are held by appointment with the entire family in attendance. Sour patch, baby shark, might tiny— just a few of the nicknames this little girl has acquired within the past week of being here. Heart of a lion, size of a mouse. Strong willed and independent. She knows what she wants and is fully determined to do anything to get it. Sassy comes in all sizes— including hers! She plays hard but snuggles even harder. Loves playing with stuffies and tennis balls. Is learning to sleep through the night and no accidents in her puppy crib (she whines when she needs to go out). Working on potty training. Sometimes she lets you know, others she’ll use the potty pad I have indoors. Starting to work on basic commands- she’s a quick learner! Food motivation is wonderful for her. Still trying to teach her manners, but she’s slowly learning. &#226&#157&#164&#239&#184&#143 Vega is around 3 months old and is guessed to be an Aussie mix. She will be medium size. Vega is a very active pup. She is a constant source of entertainment and loves toys that squeak. Seems to get along well with the others (canines) in the house. Though she is initially intimidated by the larger sizes which last about 10 seconds. Then the real Vega comes out. She exhumes confidence and playfulness. If you’re looking for a very active pup, she’s your girl. Vega is approximately 3 months of age. Brindle, big brown eyes and a left ear that’s a little floppy Did I mention she is adventurous? She’s just learning potty training and some good manners. She looking for a home that can continue showing her good manners. Her beginning wasn’t the greatest as she and her siblings spent 2 weeks in isolation due to Parvo. The stars truly aligned in their favor. They all made it through and have a clean bill of health We believe this litter to be Aussie mixes. Obviously there's at least one or two other breeds mixed in there. Vega is the cute little odd duck of the litter looking very different from her siblings. If you are looking for a new pup fitting her description this is your chance. Vega is available through Guardians of the Green Mile (www.gotgm.org) of Portage, IN. We are a group of individuals that have come together to save the lives of animals that are in danger of being euthanized. We raise funds to fully vet the animals and to provide them with a stable home until they are adopted. All of the dogs in our Rescue are in Foster homes while they are looking for their forever family. The only time we put a dog in boarding is for a Foster to go on vacation if another Foster is not able to care for them. We appreciate your taking the time to fill out the application to adopt one of our Guardians of the Green Mile pets. The questions that we ask are to only find the right fit for all of our dogs and the families that will be adopting them. Adoption donation is $300.00 for dogs over 1 year old and $350 with a $50.00 spay / neuter deposit for puppies/dogs under 1 year old.
