Story
Meet the lovely Margo, whose journey began when her mother fell victim to a car accident. Her rescuer provided tender care, bottle-feeding her until she reached independence in eating. However, during this period, Margo encountered Distemper and faced neglect in a hoarding situation with her previous foster family, before finding her way to our rescue. Despite a challenging start, Ms. Margo has exhibited remarkable resilience as a fighter. Building trust with new people may take time, understandable given her past, but once she does, she transforms into a playful, affectionate, and amusing best friend. Margo is characterized by her playful nature, intelligence, responsiveness to food/treats, and friendliness towards dogs. Fully house and crate-trained, she is ready for a family to call her own. Don't miss the chance to make Margo a part of your family! Please fill out an adoption application today through our online form: https://serendipityanimalrescue.org/pet-adoption-application/

Story
Meet Sofie! Sofie is a sweet and gentle 12-year-old mixed breed who is searching for a loving forever home. Her previous owner had to make the heartbreaking decision to surrender her, but Sofie is ready to open her heart to a new family. This precious girl is house-trained and gets along wonderfully with other dogs her size. Despite her age, Sofie has no medical issues and is in great health. Her only wish is to find a home where she can feel safe and loved. Sofie experiences anxiety, so she would thrive in a home with a stay-at-home parent who can provide her with the constant companionship and reassurance she craves. She is a loyal and loving companion who just wants to be by your side, offering her unconditional love and affection. If you're looking for a devoted friend who will fill your days with joy and your heart with love, Sofie is the perfect match. Come meet her and let her show you just how special she is. Sofie is ready to be your faithful companion and best friend. www.littlebeansophanark.com

Story
My husband Horace and I bought Ollie in December 2022 at My Next Puppy in Chantilly, VA. Ollie is a miniature Aussie Shepherd, born on Sept 30 2022. He is currently 2 1/2 years old. Ollie is a very spirited dog, playful, loving, and loves having fun. He loves stuffed animals and playing fetch, even though he doesn't bring the ball back. Ollie is very seasoned with other dogs. He has gone to Central Bark daycare in Landover Maryland for the past 2 1/2 years, a doggie daycare, twice a week. He is also very familiar with being boarded, as my husband and I have traveled several times a year. He likes to run free, sniff things, and engage with other dogs. Ollie does however need frequent play, at least 30 minutes a day, and also training to help stimulate him mentally. He can became very attached, so a family with kids is ideal, for a hyper-activity dog such as Ollie. We are looking for a loving, caring, supportive, patient family that is willing to embrace Ollie and giving him a home.

ABOUT THIS ANIMAL: Chicky was rescued from one of our partner shelters located in a rural area. Since her arrival, she has shown remarkable improvement, learning to engage with other dogs and developing trust with her human caregivers. Although Chicky may initially appear somewhat shy, she warms up quicky. Chicky enjoys running around outside with her doggie friends and playing with chew toys. Each evening, she snuggles with one of the foster’s daughter and then climbs in her bed to go to sleep for the night. Chicky is affectionate, often giving gentle licks, and she loves to cuddle. Recently, she was introduced to a cat, and she responded calmly, merely sniffing before moving on. She prefers gentle interactions and is not fond of being approached aggressively by other dogs or cats, which is completely understandable. Chicky would flourish in a home with another confident dog that can help her explore different canine activities. By inviting Chicky into your home, you will become part of a special group known as Chicky's Chums. Are you ready to join this unique community? Contact us today to learn more about Chicky! Story
Courtesy Post: Owner Surrender/Rehoming- Fairfax, VA Gus is an 4 year old Australian Shepherd and weighs 40 lbs. He is neutered, microchipped, up to date on shots, and on heartworm prevention. Gus is nervous around strangers! No children or dogs, due to his reactivity! He hasn’t been tested around cats. Several years ago, Gus escaped from the yard while someone else was watching him. A stranger found him and went to grab his collar, which caused Gus to bite the stranger. Gus is currently on gabapentin, clonidine, and Sertaline for his reactivity. His owner says that when he isn’t triggered, he is loving, loyal, smart, playful, and energetic! The owner is surrendering him because he doesn’t do well with their young children. If you think you can provide a great home for Gus, please contact the owner listed below. There is a $150 rehoming fee to assure good folks with good intentions. This fee will be donated to Australian Shepherds Furever for their assistance in placing Gus. Owner’s Contact Information: Devin at elliott.family.8823@gmail.com
