The current owner is surrendering them because he is unable to keep them. They need to go ASAP! Boyd (blue merle) is a 9-month-old Australian Shepherd mix puppy (the other breed is unknown) and weighs 36 lbs. He is neutered, up to date on shots and on heartworm prevention. Boyd is nervous around strangers! He hasn’t been tested around kids or cats. He doesn’t live with other dogs (except for Gurly) but is good with dogs outside of the home. He isn’t housebroken or crate trained. Gurdy (brown and white) is a 9-month-old Australian Shepherd mix puppy (the other breed is unknown) and weighs 41 lbs. She is spayed, up to date on shots and on heartworm prevention. Gurdy is nervous around strangers! She hasn’t been tested around kids or cats. She doesn’t live with other dogs (except for Boyd), but is good with dogs outside of the home. She isn’t housebroken or crate trained. Deku nipped a man after the owner told him Deku is reactive and nervous. The guy came towards Deku quickly, which caused Deku to nip him. He has tried to lunge at people if they approach him after he has given a warning signal. The owner is surrendering him because she is unable to provide the space, exercise and enrichment that he needs. Story

JAKE is the sweetest thing on 4 legs and he's dreaming of finding his forever family. He was rescued with his sister Bambi who has been adopted so now it's Jake's turn. He's just over a year old and fully grown at 40 pounds so he's a perfect medium sized pooch. He's a very sweet and quiet guy who can be a little shy when you first meet him but he warms up quickly to a loving touch and some yummy treats. He's friends with everyone he meets and loves other dogs and cats too! We did a DNA on him and he's 42% Australian Shepherd, 13% Australian Cattle Dog and + 11 other breeds (check out his breakdown in his photos!) He's really a good boy who is living with a wonderful Foster family now but we're hoping a loving adopter finds him soon and will cherish him forever. We urgently rescued them from the shelter, which often posts euthanasia lists due to the overwhelming number of animals needing protection. * Interaction with People: Not used to strangers yet and barks at people visitors at home and people he meets on walks. Wags his tail and is endlessly affectionate with people he knows! Accepts pets. * Interaction with Dogs: Plays energetically with friends and likes dogs that match his energy level. Wants to hop right in on the fun and runs around to play! * Interaction with Cats: Barks at and is wary of cats during walks. * Separation Anxiety: Does well completely alone for two hours! With his sibling, Jella, he plays and doesn’t notice the time passing by. * Potty Training: Uses potty pads well, infrequently making accidents. * Hygiene: Handles baths well. If you hold him, he waits patiently as he gets his nails trimmed. * Walking: Has great walking manners and doesn’t pull on the leash. * Car Sickness: Doesn’t like the car and is very scared, but doesn’t have any car sickness. Is undergoing training to get desensitized. 💌Other Information💌 * Sometimes pees when he gets too excited * Must be fed separately because he is greedy for food. He also tends to eat too quickly. * Sometimes nips due to guarding aggression. This is mostly because of treats. He growls or lightly nips if you touch him when he is eating a treat. * Whines in his kennel when it is time for food. * Barks when there’s noise outside the home. Also barks when there are big dogs outside the fence. Seems to bark due to fear or anxiety. * Has mastered ‘sit,’ ‘paw,’ ‘high five,’ and ‘V’!
