In Johnstown - Hello future family! My name is Rosie and I would be so grateful to have a loving family accept me and make me part of their family! I had a not so great past, I was used to breed lots of puppies in a puppy mill. They weren’t mean to me, but they never got me out of my pen, they never petted me, or played with me. I just had more puppies. It took me a while to figure out that humans can be really nice and can pet me and play with me and that I like it. I’m still shy at first and a little skittish, but l warm up with time, patience, and love. I’m sweet and gentle when I interact with my humans. I like other dogs and kids too. I’m not sure how I feel about cats, I’ve never been around them. I love being outdoors… all those smells… and more smells. I just want to find my very own family. One who will love me, and pet me, and play with me. My family will need to be patient with me, I’m still learning to trust, but I promise that if you give me a chance, I will be the goodest girl and give you all of my love in return. I am spayed (no more puppies for me), UTD on all my vaccines, microchipped, and on HW and flea prevention. I just turned 3 years old (my DOB is 12/01/2021). ABOUT ME: Hi! My name’s Calvin and I like to think of myself as the life of the party. I was surrendered to COPAW as I was too much for my previous owner to manage (apartment living is not the best environment for an energetic guy like me). I am a happy, social boy once I get to know you and my foster mom says that my tail wags “a million miles a minute.” I love toys, especially bones and anything that I can tear the stuffing out of. I am a little shy at first and will bark at you but once you feed me a few treats, we will be lifelong besties (ask my foster mom!). I love to play with the other dogs in the house. We especially love the game of chase. My mom keeps telling me that with the proper training, I would make a great running companion. My favorite thing though is to curl up with my humans after some fun play time. I AM GREAT WITH: People and other dogs (both big and small). I love my two legged foster brothers. However, due to my energetic nature, I might be too much for really small kids. I know sit and am good at walking on a leash. I am okay with a crate and am used to sleeping in it. I am very proud to tell everyone, I am completely potty trained! Yes, you read that right. Isn't that awesome? I AM STILL WORKING ON: My manners. I like to counter surf which makes everything at eye level fair game. My foster mom is also helping me learn not to jump on everyone when I get super excited and to come when called. I know my name but sometimes practice the art of selective hearing when she is calling me for. I AM NOT GOOD WITH: Cats! My foster family has one and boy does he get on my nerves. I am also a little nervous about being touched around the neck as I was trained using a shock collar. I am getting better with reassurance from the humans. While I am good at walking on a leash, I will need some help at not barking at everyone I see. I REQUIRE: ◦ Fenced-in yard, as I like to run around! ◦ No shared walls, as I like to talk sometimes (apartments, townhomes) ◦ No cats ◦ An active person or family would be wonderful **All animals in our care are spayed/neutered, microchipped, heartworm tested (age 1 & up), given preventatives, and provided with initial vaccinations AT MINIMUM. Booster shots are included in the adoption fee and will be performed at our clinic, or the adopter can use their own vet at their expense. Adopters must reside within 2 hours of Columbus, OH. No transportation assistance is available.**
