Story
Meet Coral! Coral is a 2 year old, 25 pound mini Australian Shepherd. Coral is a happy-go-lucky girl who would do great in a home with other dogs or even as an only dog. Coral is a herding breed so we recommend children age 7 or older. Coral spends time with her foster mom's grandchildren and is around dogs of all sizes. Coral is crate trained but prefers just to hang out. She is also potty trained. Coral will need a secured yard to hang in so her breeding instincts don't get her off track. If you'd like more confirmation on Coral, email therescueinn@gmail.com or complete an adoption application on our website.

Story
Seamus was from a reputable Amish breeder and was a year old Jan 11, 2025. Chipped. Seamus is an active mini Aussie that requires a lot of attention, loves walks and playing. He is a jumper and will nip for attention or bites your ankles ( it’s the hurding breed) Seamus does like activity games that keeps him busy, he loves scented bean bags that he loves to find when hidden. Seamus also has a knack for scenting when someone is not feeling good and lets you know or just sticks his nose in your ear or whine to let you know and will wake you up. He loves to cuddle and sleep with me or in my room and does not like crates. He will need someone with a fenced in yard as he loves to run.

Story
**SEAMUS IS NOT PHYSICALLY AT THE SHELTER, HE IS IN A FOSTER HOME**Will you take a look at Seamus with the piercing blue eyes. Seamus is a mini-Australian shepherd that was born on 1-11-24. He is one year old. He weighs 24 pounds. Seamus came to us as an owner surrender due to the owner’s health issues. The Australian shepherd has been described as a “cowboy’s herding dog of choice.” They are working dogs and need a job to keep their minds busy. Seamus is full of energy and would benefit from a fenced in yard and obedience training or even agility work. He is wicked smart and great with other animals including cats and dogs. As always, a meet and greet with any resident dogs is required. Seamus will herd people and animals. That is what they are bred to do. We are asking for an adopter familiar with the working dog breed. Seamus is not for the first time dog owner. Seamus loves to run like the wind and would make an awesome running partner. Seamus would love an active household with an adult family who will play with him and take him on hikes and walks. Older children are fine. Seamus is not a fan of car rides or loud noises such as thunder. He knows how to sit and paw. Seamus is available for our foster to adopt program which means you can foster him in your home until he finishes his vetting which includes neuter, vaccines, microchip and heartworm testing . Please email dogadoptions@parmashelter.org and fill out an adoption application online to meet Seamus. Seamus’s adoption fee is $200.

Story
In Olmsted Township - Hey everyone! Let us introduce you to Mr. Max R. Roni. Max is an almost 7 year old Australian Shepherd. He’s had a sad past, losing his home, his mom and dad and now looking for a forever home to accept him as he is. It’s time for Max to find his furever home and thrive. Max came to ASF grossly overweight. He has been with his foster for several months trying to get some of his weight off and to help him be happy again. He’s lost a lot of weight already and is feeling much better. Max is a gentle old soul. When in the house, he’s pretty chill… he’ll find his spot and most of the time he’ll hang there alone. He will bring you his tennis ball (his FAVORITE toy) and wants you to toss it once he gives it to you. Max really loves butt rubs and being petted. He gets super excited to go outside and play ball or chase or catch a rolled Frisbee. When it’s time to quit, he just finds a spot to lay down. Max gets nervous on car rides and isn’t a fan. He’s very content staying at home. Walks are okay; he’s a bigger boy so he does pull some. Max is great left in the house all day: no accidents, no destruction. He does like the couch and would prefer to share your bed. Max has an issue with resource guarding toys… all toys belong to Max. Thus, a home with a submissive female or as an only dog would be best. His submissive 2 year old female foster sister Aussie plays chase with him but will drop any toy she has when Max comes near. He wasn’t nice the first time, so she just lets him have any toy. (The male Aussie in the house did not back down and this didn’t go well at all.) Due to his resource guarding, a home with small children would not be advised nor any dominant dog. Max is a sweet boy who just needs to find the right home. Someone to pet him on the couch, toss the ball for him once in while, take him out in the yard while you work or enjoy sitting and watching the day pass. Max is neutered, microchipped, UTD on vaccines, housebroken, crate trained, and on HW/flea prevention. He is currently being fostered in Olmsted Township, OH. There is an additional $20 fee to transfer his microchip to his new owners. All adoption fees go to help rescue other dogs like Max.
