Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. 2nd Chance 4 Life Rescue is primarily a sanctuary for senior and medically needy dogs.  Every once in awhile you will see younger dogs but for the most part our dogs live out their life at the ranch at the request of their previous owners or their owners families.  We have many sponsorship dogs.  Our sponsors love to keep in touch and know how their sponsored fur buddy is doing :)When we have foster families we are thrilled to be able to take adoptable younger dogs :)  So if you have ever thought about becoming fosters please feel free to go to our foster/volunteer page and fill out an application. The Ranch located at 737 Taylor Rd., Windsor, PA is always looking for dedicated volunteers that will commit to at least a 2 hour shift per week at the rescue.  Volunteers work in play yards, help with laundry and feeding.  Some enjoy landscaping or carpentry projects and some like to bake for the healing center visitors :)Thank you for supporting our mission of caring for the elderly and medically needy souls that need us!UPDATE:  Caution cutenes overload aka Ace.  He's pure bred handsome (we don't know exact breed.  Sweetest pup EVER.  Ace has been living in a foster home for about a month now and has done great.  Meet lots of people, mailmen, kids, dogs etc over that time and has loved everyone.  Ace special skills include chasing birds and being the little spoon during cuddle time.  Ace's love language is long belly rubs.  He is house trained and cate trained with very little issues but will still need training in these areas.  Ace loves his foster brother and follows him everywhere.  Overall Ace has been a great puppy and can't wait to find his fur ever home!  As with any puppy training and patience will be necessary.Well my mommy and me and my 3 siblings were really scared until this really nice lady took us in and took care of us until she could get us to 2nd Chance.  Now we are at the ranch and we are having tons of fun running around with the other puppies here and our mom is getting a break!  After all she is only a year old so she doesn't really want to be a mom already :)The Director has NO idea what 'breed' we are and she said it doesn't matter we are PURE CUTENESS and shame on people if they need a label!Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet. Please fill out an adoption application: Adoption application (Dog) Adoption Application (Cat)   Please understand we do not adopt out dogs to families with children under the age of 5. We do not adopt dogs to renters. Some dogs will have fence requirements while others may not.   A pet is a lifetime commitment. The dogs and cats in our system find themselves there, for the most part, because their humans did not have the same loyalty to them as they did to their owners. We do not take the adoption process lightly, and will do everything in our power to make sure the animal is placed correctly the first time around for your sake and theirs. Thank you for choosing to adopt not shop!August 7, 2024, 7:26 pm

PLEASE NOTE! Unless stated otherwise, our dogs and puppies are located in Arkansas, and transported to the north/northeast once adopted. We do occasionally have dogs/puppies placed in foster homes in the north/northeast. In the cases where the pet is somewhere other than Arkansas, it will be noted beside the name of the pet. 6/1/24 STILL AVAILABLE! 4/4/24 Timber is a beautiful mixed breed dog who was found along with 2 others, abandoned in a remote area of Arkansas. Timber is friendly and sweet natured. This website makes us pick a breed when we list dogs, I went with Aussie and Catahoula mix, but please know she is likely very mixed of several breeds and may not have any Aussie or Catahoula at all! We believe she is around 2 years old and she weighs about 45 lbs. Timber hasn't had the opportunity to be around kids but we can't imagine her not being great with them, with her loving, sweet personality. She is great with other dogs as well as cats! Timber did have heartworm when she came into rescue, but we have had her treated and she came thru the treatment with flying colors! Being as young as she is, and having no symptoms, we do not expect she will have any long term effects; she has fully recovered. She is house and Crate trained. Don't miss out on this beauty! Located in Arkansas, but transport is available. Adopter must be able to pick up or arrange for someone to pick up for them at one of the following times/locations. Bobbie is a 4 month old little girl that has the cutest little stub tail and who is extremely playful and gets along with her other siblings and my dogs. She will be spayed next week and is doing very well on a lease. She also loves splashing in little swimming pools. If you think you can provide a great home for Tosh, please contact the owner listed below. There is a $100 rehoming fee to assure good folks with good intentions. This fee will be donated to Australian Shepherds Furever for their assistance in placing Tosh. Owner’s Contact Information: Catherine McCoubrey at (267) 972-1121 or catherine.mccoubrey@gmail.com.
