URGENT Courtesy Post: Owner Surrender/Rehoming- Philadelphia, PA Meet Tosh! She is an 1 year old Australian Shepherd mix (other breed is unknown) and weighs 29 lbs. She is spayed, microchipped, up to date on shots, and on heartworm prevention. Tosh is fearful of strangers. She is great with cats! She hasn’t been tested around children. No dogs, due to her reactivity! The owner is surrendering her because she is reactive to cars, other people, and dogs. She needs to go by 5/5! If you think you can provide a great home for Tosh, please contact the owner listed below. There is a $100 rehoming fee to assure good folks with good intentions. This fee will be donated to Australian Shepherds Furever for their assistance in placing Tosh. Owner’s Contact Information: Catherine McCoubrey at (267) 972-1121 or catherine.mccoubrey@gmail.com.

Story
Finnegan is a sweet boy - well behaved - yet, will be shy at first with new people, but not aggressively so. He always seems to enjoy children & other dogs. Finn has lived with cats in the past & was fine with them, although would not overly interact with them - except to sniff them briefly, as they might walk by. Unfortunately, he has had seizures in the past & now is given meds that have seemed to help greatly! Health concerns are not my reason for giving him up - 'it breaks my heart, to do so' - however, so many places to live at will not allow for pets/dogs especially. Finn has good energy for 10+ years - he's actually at a pretty perfect stage, right now, behavior wise. Even, his potty habits are great, really! Enjoys car rides & he gets around with no problems - and will interact with you, as you interact with him.

Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. 2nd Chance 4 Life Rescue is primarily a sanctuary for senior and medically needy dogs.  Every once in awhile you will see younger dogs but for the most part our dogs live out their life at the ranch at the request of their previous owners or their owners families.  We have many sponsorship dogs.  Our sponsors love to keep in touch and know how their sponsored fur buddy is doing :)When we have foster families we are thrilled to be able to take adoptable younger dogs :)  So if you have ever thought about becoming fosters please feel free to go to our foster/volunteer page and fill out an application. The Ranch located at 737 Taylor Rd., Windsor, PA is always looking for dedicated volunteers that will commit to at least a 2 hour shift per week at the rescue.  Volunteers work in play yards, help with laundry and feeding.  Some enjoy landscaping or carpentry projects and some like to bake for the healing center visitors :)Thank you for supporting our mission of caring for the elderly and medically needy souls that need us!UPDATE:  Caution cutenes overload aka Ace.  He's pure bred handsome (we don't know exact breed.  Sweetest pup EVER.  Ace has been living in a foster home for about a month now and has done great.  Meet lots of people, mailmen, kids, dogs etc over that time and has loved everyone.  Ace special skills include chasing birds and being the little spoon during cuddle time.  Ace's love language is long belly rubs.  He is house trained and cate trained with very little issues but will still need training in these areas.  Ace loves his foster brother and follows him everywhere.  Overall Ace has been a great puppy and can't wait to find his fur ever home!  As with any puppy training and patience will be necessary.Well my mommy and me and my 3 siblings were really scared until this really nice lady took us in and took care of us until she could get us to 2nd Chance.  Now we are at the ranch and we are having tons of fun running around with the other puppies here and our mom is getting a break!  After all she is only a year old so she doesn't really want to be a mom already :)The Director has NO idea what 'breed' we are and she said it doesn't matter we are PURE CUTENESS and shame on people if they need a label!Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet. Please fill out an adoption application: Adoption application (Dog) Adoption Application (Cat)   Please understand we do not adopt out dogs to families with children under the age of 5. We do not adopt dogs to renters. Some dogs will have fence requirements while others may not.   A pet is a lifetime commitment. The dogs and cats in our system find themselves there, for the most part, because their humans did not have the same loyalty to them as they did to their owners. We do not take the adoption process lightly, and will do everything in our power to make sure the animal is placed correctly the first time around for your sake and theirs. Thank you for choosing to adopt not shop!August 7, 2024, 7:26 pm

Story
Meet Style and Grace! These ladies are 4 year old mini Australian shepherd mixes who were saved from a commercial breeding facility in Lancaster County. They were given up because they were no longer profitable as breeder mamas. The puppy mill used and abused them until they couldn't anymore and then reached out to us to take them off their hands. It's a story as old as time when it comes to puppy mills, but we will always be there to help our beloved mill mamas. Style and Grace had very difficult lives before coming to us, but they will never spend another winter trying to keep themselves or their puppies warm, never wonder when their next meal will be coming, never have another day where their feet aren't touching grass, and never be wanted for anything more than the love they can give. They will be cherished part of a family, and not a tool to make a greedy person lots of money. They will never have another bad day and we are honored to provide them this comfort in life. They both have started to giving us their trust as well as all their love and gentleness, in true mill mama fashion, and we are confident they will make wonderful family members! They will require a family who understands her past, and is patient with them as they transition to living life in a home and around kind people. Our mill mamas are always extremely special, and we promise you there is no love out there that compares to theirs! This should go without saying, but we require all our animals to be trained using positive reinforcement methods ONLY. Please apply to be considered at our website www.angelsretreat.org!
