Story
Thank you for your interest in dog who needs a new home. Adoption can be one of the most fulfilling experiences in your life and especially in the life of your new canine companion. A note to those looking at CPR. We have no perfect dogs - but many of our dogs have proven to be perfect for a certain someone. Our job is to find those someone's. Our most successful adopters come to CPR not because they want a dog. They come to us because they want to give a dog a home. We urge all of our potential adopters not to fall in love with a picture. While we like to know what you like in looks, a dog is more than a pretty face. Our goal is to match you with the best possible pet for you and your home. We want to create furever families. Our descriptions contain all that we know about this dog today. We'll update as more information is known. Are you looking to adopt within the next 30 days? If so please visit our webpage at www.carolinapoodlerescue.org and complete the application. You'll find it in the menu on the left hand side. You'll also find a total listing of all our dogs available. Just browsing but interested in poodles and poodle mixes? Please drop a note to applications@carolinapoodlerescue.org with your name, address and phone # and email. We'll add you to our mailing list. thanks the CPR Adoption team Date into Rescue: 3/6/2025 Reason for being in rescue: Breeder release Foster location: Dreamweaver Farms, Pacolet SC Special Needs? No What kind of home would be best for me? Lillie is looking for a home with experienced pet owners. She has never known life as a companion, and is still learning what it's all about. Everything - and we mean everything - is a new experience for her. Lillie would do well in an apartment as long as she receives plenty of exercise each day through walks and/or trips to the dog park. If she’s adopted by someone with a home, she would love a fenced-in yard where she can play safely. While Lillie could be happy as an only dog, a home with a confident dog who could act as a mentor would be beneficial to her development. She has never known life without the companionship of other dogs and candidly we don't know how she will do as an only dog. Lillie gets along with the dogs here, particularly female dogs, though she hasn’t had interactions with cats. However, if your cat is comfortable with dogs, Lillie should be fine. Lillie doesn’t mind if her adopter is single, a couple, or a family—what matters most is that they have the time to spend with her. She needs a home filled with kindness, patience, understanding, and most importantly, love. You can see how much Lillie longs for her own human(s) to bond with and share the endless love she has to offer. Once she gains confidence in her new home, she will blossom into a loyal and loving companion. What is my personality like? Meet Lillie, a beautiful apricot-colored Aussie Doodle who came to us as a breeder release. Like many dogs in her situation, Lillie is unsure of herself as she adjusts to life outside of the breeder’s care. Everything is new to her, and she’s still learning about the world. For example, Lillie struggles with stairs because she had never encountered them before arriving at the farm. However, she’s quickly adapting and discovering new things each day. She’s getting along well with the other dogs here and, though timid, you can see how much she wants to learn to trust people. Lillie is making great progress and is now allowing people to pet her. While she’s not comfortable with fast movements or getting too much in her space, if you approach her calmly, she’ll welcome all the love you want to give her. Lillie has not had basic training, so her new adopter will need to spend time teaching her essential skills like commands and leash walking. She’s timid on a leash and looks to her person for reassurance and guidance. The time and patience you invest in her will help build her confidence and allow you to form a strong bond. As a breeder release, Lillie is timid and shy, but she’s learning every day that life can be a wonderful experience. If you have the time, patience, and love to help Lillie thrive, she’s waiting for you. Adopting Lillie means giving her the life she’s always wanted and welcoming a new, loving family member into your home. How do I act when I first meet new people? Lillie is cautious when meeting new people. However, if you sit quietly with her and give her time to adjust, she will soon be seeking your love and affection. Other tips and tidbits: Lillie was born on 8/8/2023. House trained? Dogs can be house trained if they are in the right environment and are allowed to follow a schedule if a physical reason doesn't keep them from being trained. A dog house trained in my home may not be in yours. We will help you teach your new dog this necessary skill and based on your schedule. Please note - we do not ship dogs. If you are interested in adopting, please take a look at the distance between the foster home location and your location and make sure you are willing to make that trip. Most of our dogs are at our farm in Pacolet, South Carolina. To apply, please visit our webpage at www.carolinapoodlerescue.org and visit the tab on the left that directions you to the online application. Please note that when screening applications, we look at the entire home and then make suggestions based on what would be a good fit for your home. You are not being screened for a specific dog although we are looking to see what type of dog interests you - poodles or non poodles, color, age, etc. Others here may be a better fit for you. It is very difficult to get to know a living animal from a picture and a short description. Since we are constantly getting in new dogs, this may be a dog not in our listings yet. We want you to be very happy with your new companion and will make suggestions based on what you tell us about you. Thank you for considering CPR. March 28, 2025, 7:41 am
