Story
Rocky is a purebreed Australian Shepherd from a Breeder in the upstate. Rocky is 4 years old and gets along with most dogs and cats and children. He has no history of being aggressive with people or other pets. Rocky has a great personality and knows a few commands when prompted like sit, lay, roll over. Rocky eats well and is very healthy. Rocky sleeps through the night with no issues. Rocky is very excited to play with other dogs and will do what it takes to get to the fun. We are attempting to rehome him to someone who can accomodate his high energy. Our family has become very busy and due to the fact that he needs so much time to play and be outside he becomes destructive inside and outside the home. Rocky would prefer to be able to run in a large yard and be with a family that goes on walks alot to help him get his energy out.

Story
Meet Shiloh! She’s a purebred Aussie. Shes sweet, energetic, loves to play. Shes good with other dogs from what we can tell, but does not get along with our other dog who’s had the house as the only dog for a long time. They just are not adapting well to each other. We’ve had her since she was a pup. She’s house trained, pretty good on a leash. She knows commands. She had one on one professional training so with the right owner would pick up with that training really well, I think. She’s got way more energy that what is fitting for our household. She needs person or family that is active, loves to play, loves to walk. And possibly another dog friend to play alongside.

Thank you for your interest in dog who needs a new home.  Adoption can be one of the most fulfilling experiences in your life and especially in the life of your new canine companion. A note to those looking at CPR.  We have no perfect dogs - but many of our dogs have proven to be perfect for a certain someone.  Our job is to find those someone's.  Our most successful adopters come to CPR not because they want a dog.  They come to us because they want to give a dog a home.  We urge all of our potential adopters not to fall in love with a picture.  While we like to know what you like in looks, a dog is more than a pretty face.  Our goal is to match you with the best possible pet for you and your home.  We want to create furever families.  Our descriptions contain all that we know about this dog today.  We'll update as more information is known.  Are you looking to adopt within the next 30 days?  If so please visit our webpage at www.carolinapoodlerescue.org and complete the application.  You'll find it in the menu on the left hand side.  You'll also find a total listing of all our dogs available.  Just browsing but interested in poodles and poodle mixes?  Please drop a note to applications@carolinapoodlerescue.org with your name, address and phone # and email.  We'll add you to our mailing list. thanks the CPR Adoption team   Date into Rescue: 01/19/2025 Reason for being in rescue: Born into rescue Foster location: Dreamweaver Farms, Pacolet SC Special Needs? Hamish is up to date on vaccines for his age. Hamish's mom Evie is a 12-lb mini Australian shepherd. His dad is a man of mystery. Only a DNA test will confirm him genetics. He is 100% adorable. Hamish is not hypoallergenic and will shed. Hamish will be ready for his forever home on 3/29/25; we are accepting applications to adopt now. Weight: 4 lbs and growing - we expect Hamish will be between 22-30 lbs when full grown Height: 6 in and growing - we expect Hamish will be 12-14 inches when full grown Spayed/Neutered: No. Based on his size and age, Hamish is not neutered. He will be adopted on a spay/neuter addendum that requires you to neuter him at your cost within 9 months and provide proof of neuter. Adoption Fee: $399 Fence needed? No What kind of home would be best for me? Puppies are always in need of a canine friend; they love to run and play with one another. Puppies are active, agile little babies, they need homes that are ready to tire them out both mentally and physically. Puppies are generally very well-rounded dogs, they do not meet strangers and would do well with a nice big family or a single owner! What matters most to a puppy is a happy and excited owner ready to take on loving and training their new puppy! When raised around cats, with proper boundaries, puppies do very well. If you expect your puppy to get alone with your feline buddy, it’s important to start socializing the puppy with the cat as soon as you can!  What is my personality like? Hamish is a big sweetie. He loves to be picked up and told good morning because it hurts his feelings when you don't. He's a sensitive guy and needs lots of affection. Hamish is kind to all of his puppy friends and loves some snuggle time with them, especially his sisters. He's always so gentle even when playing and prefers to just give kisses. Hamish is generally pretty mellow - he's content in any situation and even when we are outside, he picks sunbathing and hanging out by his caregivers over getting silly with everyone else. Hamish is easily puzzled and takes a bit more time to figure things out or maybe he's just a bit lazy; whichever it may be he prances through his day following his siblings around with not a worry in the world. He truly is one of a kind. PUPPY POLICY: Thank you for carefully considering the addition of a puppy to your family. Puppies can be a joyous experience, but they can also be a tremendous amount of work. Since our goal is to place each of our dogs in forever homes, we are especially cautious with puppies. We like to stress 3 major things when considering a puppy vs. an adult dog: 1) many adult dogs are well bred, well trained dogs who find themselves in rescue through no fault of their own, 2) adult dogs are eager to share their love and bond with their new family, and 3) puppies will always require far more time, energy, and training than an adult dog. Our ideal puppy adopters are: -experienced dog owners with a solid record of excellent vet care of their previous pets -scheduled away from home for no more than 4 hours per day and have another canine companion already in the home -stay at home type of people (work at home, home schoolers, retired, etc.) How do I act when I first meet new people? Hamish is a sweetheart who loves everyone. If you're sitting, he is going to be near. Other tips and tidbits: Hamish was born 01/19/2025 House trained? Dogs can be house trained if they are in the right environment and are allowed to follow a schedule as long as a physical reason doesn't keep them from being trained.  A dog house trained in my home may not be in yours. We will help you teach your new dog this necessary skill and based on your schedule. Please note - we do not ship dogs.  If you are interested in adopting, please take a look at the distance between the foster home location and your location and make sure you are willing to make that trip.  Most of our dogs are at our farm in Pacolet, South Carolina.   To apply, please visit our webpage at www.carolinapoodlerescue.org and visit the tab on the left that directions you to the online application. Please note that when screening applications, we look at the entire home and then make suggestions based on what would be a good fit for your home.   You are not being screened for a specific dog although we are looking to see what type of dog interests you - poodles or non poodles, color, age, etc.  Others here may be a better fit for you.  It is very difficult to get to know a living animal from a picture and a short description.  Since we are constantly getting in new dogs, this may be a  dog not in our listings yet.  We want you to be very happy with your new companion and will make suggestions based on what you tell us about you. Thank you for considering CPR. March 22, 2025, 6:32 pm

We call her our pistol because she’s always the first to have it figured out and then she gets bored and has to find something more challenging. She moves fast and you rarely ever catch her off her feet. Alira absolutely loves people and wants all of the lap time she can get no matter who it's coming from. She has a silly walk almost like she's just hopping her day away. When you give her kisses sometimes, she’ll turn her head away and look at you silly like she didn't tell you, you could do that. Alira is independent and enjoys doing her own thing. She will pick up toys the same size as her body and carry them around so all her brothers know she's still just as strong as them. When she plays she throws her front paws at you like she wants to wrestle, she has many weird quirks and loves to show them off to everyone. Alira is super smart and super goofy all at once. She truly is what we would like to call girl power because this one can do it all! PUPPY POLICY: Thank you for carefully considering the addition of a puppy to your family. No Fence needed? No, though she would enjoy one What kind of home would be best for me? Meet Breeze, a sweet little girl looking for her forever home. Breeze came to CPR in March 2025 as a breeder release and is still adjusting to her new surroundings. Like many dogs in her situation, she is unsure of the world around her. But beneath her cautious exterior, Breeze has a huge heart that will eventually shine through as she gains confidence. Breeze doesn’t mind if her adopter is single, a couple, or a family. What she needs is someone who is home most of the day and who will be patient and gentle as she learns how to be a beloved pet. Due to her nervousness around sudden movements and loud noises, she wouldn’t do well in a home with young children. Children aged 12 and older would be ideal for her. Breeze’s size makes her well-suited for both apartments and houses. Breeze has never known life without the companionship of other dogs. She requires another small, confident dog in the home for play and socialization. Breeze arrived at CPR with her best friend, Salter, and they are very close. While we’re not insisting they must be adopted together, they are friends. What is my personality like? Breeze is still learning about life outside of the breeding world. Everything is new to her, and she will need time to adjust to the sights, sounds, and experiences she encounters. Each day, she becomes a little more confident, and with a dedicated adopter, she will continue to grow into the loving companion she’s meant to be. Breeze’s favorite thing is sitting in your lap and being held. Every now and then, she’ll offer a little kiss to show you how much she enjoys the love and attention. Breeze is not yet familiar with walking on a leash; she prefers to be carried. Leash training and learning basic commands will be part of her journey with her new family. The time spent working with her will be invaluable, as it will help her build trust and form a strong bond with you. Breeze is ready to leave her past behind and step into a bright future with a loving, patient adopter who is willing to help her learn and grow. If you have the time, patience, and love to offer this sweet girl, come meet Breeze today. By adopting her, you’ll not only change her life, but she’ll brighten yours in return. How do I act when I first meet new people? Breeze can be uncertain around new people, but she’s very affectionate with her caregivers and enjoys cuddling. When meeting new people, she may take a few moments to ensure she feels safe. Once she’s comfortable, she’ll happily let you approach and will likely want to snuggle in your lap for some loving attention. Other tips and tidbits: Breeze was born on 8/10/2019. House trained? Dogs can be house trained if they are in the right environment and are allowed to follow a schedule if a physical reason doesn't keep them from being trained.  A dog house trained in my home may not be in yours. Lillie is up to date on vaccines and heartworm negative. Lillie will be spayed on 4/8/25 and ready for her forever home on 4/17/25. We are accepting applications to adopt now. Lillie is an Aussie-Doodle. We will never guarantee a doodle is hypoallergenic or that they won't shed. Weight: 40 lbs Height: 24 in Spayed/Neutered: Lillie will be spayed on 4/8/25 and ready for her forever home on 4/17/25. We are accepting applications to adopt now. Adoption Fee: $599 Fence needed? No What kind of home would be best for me? Lillie is looking for a home with experienced pet owners. She has never known life as a companion, and is still learning what it's all about. Everything - and we mean everything - is a new experience for her. Lillie would do well in an apartment as long as she receives plenty of exercise each day through walks and/or trips to the dog park. If she’s adopted by someone with a home, she would love a fenced-in yard where she can play safely. While Lillie could be happy as an only dog, a home with a confident dog who could act as a mentor would be beneficial to her development. She has never known life without the companionship of other dogs and candidly we don't know how she will do as an only dog. Lillie gets along with the dogs here, particularly female dogs, though she hasn’t had interactions with cats. However, if your cat is comfortable with dogs, Lillie should be fine. Lillie doesn’t mind if her adopter is single, a couple, or a family—what matters most is that they have the time to spend with her. She needs a home filled with kindness, patience, understanding, and most importantly, love. You can see how much Lillie longs for her own human(s) to bond with and share the endless love she has to offer. Once she gains confidence in her new home, she will blossom into a loyal and loving companion. What is my personality like? Meet Lillie, a beautiful apricot-colored Aussie Doodle who came to us as a breeder release. Like many dogs in her situation, Lillie is unsure of herself as she adjusts to life outside of the breeder’s care. Everything is new to her, and she’s still learning about the world. For example, Lillie struggles with stairs because she had never encountered them before arriving at the farm. However, she’s quickly adapting and discovering new things each day. She’s getting along well with the other dogs here and, though timid, you can see how much she wants to learn to trust people. Lillie is making great progress and is now allowing people to pet her. While she’s not comfortable with fast movements or getting too much in her space, if you approach her calmly, she’ll welcome all the love you want to give her. Lillie has not had basic training, so her new adopter will need to spend time teaching her essential skills like commands and leash walking. She’s timid on a leash and looks to her person for reassurance and guidance. The time and patience you invest in her will help build her confidence and allow you to form a strong bond. As a breeder release, Lillie is timid and shy, but she’s learning every day that life can be a wonderful experience. If you have the time, patience, and love to help Lillie thrive, she’s waiting for you. Adopting Lillie means giving her the life she’s always wanted and welcoming a new, loving family member into your home.  How do I act when I first meet new people? Lillie is cautious when meeting new people. However, if you sit quietly with her and give her time to adjust, she will soon be seeking your love and affection. Other tips and tidbits: Lillie was born on 8/8/2023. House trained? Dogs can be house trained if they are in the right environment and are allowed to follow a schedule if a physical reason doesn't keep them from being trained.  A dog house trained in my home may not be in yours. We will help you teach your new dog this necessary skill and based on your schedule.
