Story
Remember that handsome juvenile delinquent from high school that eventually grew up to be a solid citizen? Meet Billy. Billy spent the first year of his life in a kennel in a small town shelter with very little interaction with people and no doggy playmates. He has now been in an ARM foster home since August while he has learned about the world. He is currently peacefully living with 5 other dogs and 2 dog savvy cats. He loves to wrestle wildly with the other young dogs in the home and would absolutely chase those cats if they would just run. He loves to tear up dishtowels and dirty socks. Billy has the most awesome playbow of any dog we have seen. He can be mouthy when excited and needs to be reminded to be careful. He pulls hard on leash (would be a good candidate for a head halter and more training) but can be walked in a rural area off leash and has a reliable recall. Billy is crate trained and food and tug motivated for training. He is still scared of strangers and shows that with deep, loud barks that can be intimidating. He is increasing his circle of friends and once you win his trust you can do anything with him. Fence:no Kids: maybe older ones Cats: maybe Dogs: yes All of our dogs live in foster homes with volunteers. We need an approved application on file to set up a meeting with a dog you might be interested in. You can find our application at www.aussierescuemn.com. All dogs have an adoption fee of $400 plus MN sales tax. We pride ourselves on matches that are awesome for both the dog and your family. Aussie Rescue of MN is here for support, advice and as a safety net for our dogs for the rest of their lives.

Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. //   Find our applications at www.midwestanimalrescue.orgAdoption Fee $350 plus taxPeggy Lee is a smart and spirited mix of shepherd/herding and working breeds, and judgingsolely by some of her entertaining vocalizations, sea lion and Tasmanian devil. She seems to be always thinking and noticing. She takes time to warm up to people, but onceshe does, she cannot get enough belly rubs and snuggles. Until she feels comfortable, she will“alert bark” at strangers and does not want to be approached, unless it is on her terms. But… beready for a complete 180. Displaying kindness and patience in the first few weeks will pay off ina lifetime of affection and adoration from this lovable girl. Before you know it, you will have asnuggle buddy and loving companion. She has begun occasionally letting a gentle stranger pether, but it takes calm encouragement from the person she trusts. With consistency and support, she should greatly improve in this area. She went from being fearful of foster mom’s boyfriend towanting belly rubs from him, within a few visits. She loves car rides, naps in the yard, trips to thedog park, walks, and any other adventures. She would probably be a happy boating dog. Shemay also enjoy agility or another active sport.Peggy Lee is crate trained! After a few mournful moments as foster mom leaves for work, shesettles down in the crate, much easier than when she’s left loose in the house. She willvoluntarily choose to hang out in her crate even with the door wide open. But she wants to benear her people and part of the family.Peggy Lee has so much affection to give. She wants nothing more than to love and be loved. She is easy to train, when done in a loving way. Peggy learned sit, lay down, and “paw” (toshake) in just a few days. When I tell her she’s a good girl, her tail just thumps on the floor inpure happiness. She entertains herself with chew toys and loves a good squeaker. As a strongand athletic dog, she benefits from an opportunity to run and play every day. Don’t miss thevideo of her zoomies with the frisbee.Peggy Lee sleeps soundly at night in her dog bed on the floor, although she would be happy bewith her human in the bed as well. She needs the company of another confident and interactivedog in her home. She looks to the other dog for cues for just about everything. She will gleefullyengage in play with her doggy sibling. She is overly obsessed with cats, and very vocal about it,so she needs a cat-free home. She will keep all squirrels, cats, and birds out of your yard. Shewill also let you know if she sees a cat out the window.Peggy Lee really is a special kind of dog who is just what someone out there is seeking. Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. //   Find our applications at www.midwestanimalrescue.orgAdoption Fee $350 plus taxAbout Lulu:  If you're looking for an energetic, loyal, affectionate companion, Lulu is the girl for you! Lulu came from a chaotic household, so it may take her some time to understand she can relax and just be a dog in your home,  but when she does she loves loves loves her people and loves to give constant affection. She can't contain her wiggles when she sees her people and she has been working on sitting patiently to wait for pets. Lulu is an intelligent breed mix, so she needs a strong, confident owner who can lead her and give her fun challenges to keep her brain busy. She is always up for learning a new trick or going on a nature walk with you.    Lulu's Training:  Lulu loves to learn! She already knows 'sit', 'down', 'off', 'come', and is working on 'shake'. While on walks, Lulu is learning to stay calm and learning that she doesn't have to let us know every time she sees a dog or person. She also has a loud bark when she first meets someone but she warms up with time and realizes they are just another person to pet her! Lulu would do best in a home with no small children as they make her nervous. Lulu has had no accidents in the house so far and even goes up to 9 hours in her kennel overnight without an accident. She is adjusting to spending time in her kennel alone and with a peanut butter kong or a bone, she keeps herself busy and then falls right asleep. When she does get nervous in her kennel, we give her calming chews to help her relax. Overall, she is making excellent progress with her training and is always eager to please, so she really enjoys taking direction. You don't even need treats sometimes because her favorite reward is just some good ol' pets!  If you have previously applied with us please email adoptionatmars@gmail.com  to reactivate your application with new interest.       Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.  or    *The pet you are viewing is a rescued pet which is most often from an animal control facility and does not come with a pedigree. The breed(s) listed are our best guess and are in no way guaranteed. Story
Hi everyone! My name is Alexis but my foster family calls me Lexi. I’m about a 5 1/2 year old mini Aussie with a heart of gold. I can be very shy when I first meet you but will warm up quickly. I'm unsure of my foster dogs and ignores the cats completely. I am potty trained and will go to the door or pace when i need to go out. I only had one accident but my foster mom thinks it’s because I was so scared. I love being outside. I have a fenced in yard so haven’t had much experience on a leash yet. I greet people when they come to visit and love the compliments and pets i get. Unsure of how she’d handle children. I haven’t been around little kids but I don’t like loud noises so I don’t think I’d do very good. I’m a snuggle bug and will give kisses, if you ask. I will go into my kennel but I prefer to be where my people are. Adoption fee includes: Full veterinary exam, Alter, Prepaid microchip, Dewormed, dental, Rabies vaccine (if age appropriate), Distemper combo vaccine(s) appropriate to age, Bordetella vaccine, 4DX (over 6 months of age), Flea/tick and heartworm preventative while in rescue. Adoption fee:  #525.00Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.August 19, 2024, 10:58 pm
