Meet Tommy, the charming 45lb male dog with a heart as sweet as can be! Tommy is a lovable and friendly boy who gets along wonderfully with other dogs. His social nature makes him a great companion for both canine and human friends alike. One of Tommy's absolute favorite activities is playing in the water. Whether it's a refreshing dip in a pool or splashing around in a puddle, Tommy's joy knows no bounds when he's surrounded by water. His playful spirit and love for aquatic adventures make him the perfect companion for those who enjoy outdoor activities. This sweet pup has a touching backstory – he came into our care after someone heartlessly threw him and his family over a lady's fence. Aside from his love for water play, Tommy is an all-around delightful pup. His gentle demeanor and affectionate nature make him a joy to be around. Once we receive your application, our volunteers will check your vet and personal references as well as do a phone interview

Meet the Pet

All human and canine family members are required to meet. The adoption fee is $400

Additional adoption info

The final step is to sign the adoption contract and make the adoption donation fee of $400.00. This may seem high, but it is actually a bargain! Your new pet will be up to date on the necessary vaccinations required by the age of the dog at time of adoption, spayed or neutered, on heartworm preventative and flea and tick meds, micro-chipped, groomed, and well on his or her way with basic obedience and house training. All of our dogs will be adopted out with a collar and leash, and a PMR tag.

More about this rescue

We are an all volunteer rescue organization devoted to saving dogs from shelters, puppy mills, abusive situations and abandonment in North Carolina. Our members foster, transport and help the rescue efforts with their individual skills, experience, knowledge and expertise, and most importantly, their love of dogs.

At Pawfect Match Rescue we believe that ALL dogs deserve a second chance regardless of their breed or age.

We take a different approach to rescue. We don’t try to save the masses; we just save ONE at a time and make them the best dog they can be by the time they find their forever homes.

By that we mean that we take them into our homes where they live amongst us and our pets and are treated as one of the family, not as a foster dog. We accomplish this by limiting our fosters to one or two per household.

Besides the basics of crate training and house training, we teach them basic obedience, we groom them, feed them a high quality dog food, and last but not least, we shower them with LOVE and attention that hopefully teaches them to trust again and realize that life really IS good..

We’ll never be able to save them all, no matter how many we try to pull and foster. So we believe that the one at a time approach with the extra TLC allows us to really KNOW the dogs and be able to match them more precisely with their new families.

This ends up being a win- win situation for all involved.

Pawfect Match is all volunteer and relies solely on adoption donation fees and public support. Most times our adoption donations do not cover our medical expenses.
