Check out our sister brand, Kinship, for vet chat, a nutrition calculator, basic obedience training, and (much) more. So you're never flying solo in this pet parenting thing.
Hi, I’m Captain! I’m a handsome chap looking for love and playtime. My love languages are physical touch, food, treats, more treats, and lots of exercise. I was rescued from a neglect situation where I was the only puppy left from my litter, but my mom wasn’t really into me because we were kept tied to a tree with no shelter, and food/water was scarce and intermittent. Now that I’ve been in my foster home, I’ve started to learn that food is free, water is always available, and YOU GUYS HAVE I TOLD YOU ABOUT TOYS?! Those things are awesome!
I’m 8 months old and only going to grow to maybe 50 pounds, so I won’t take up much space in the bed. I learned my name, sit, come, and lay down in just a couple of days. My favorite things are frozen kongs and any food except carrots and other veggies. Those are yucky!
I’m great on walks and playing with other dogs. I love people and kids (I’m not super mouthy). And my foster mom is always saying I’m super smart. I’ve never really interacted with cats, so I can’t speak to that, but I’m definitely smart enough to learn. If you’re looking for the perfect companion, I’m ready to spoil you with love. If you're finding me on a 3rd party adoption site, apply to adopt me here: https://www.pawfectmatch.org/animals/detail?AnimalID=21163551.

More about this rescue
We are an all volunteer rescue organization devoted to saving dogs from shelters, puppy mills, abusive situations and abandonment in North Carolina. Our members foster, transport and help the rescue efforts with their individual skills, experience, knowledge and expertise, and most importantly, their love of dogs.
At Pawfect Match Rescue we believe that ALL dogs deserve a second chance regardless of their breed or age.
We take a different approach to rescue. We don’t try to save the masses; we just save ONE at a time and make them the best dog they can be by the time they find their forever homes.
By that we mean that we take them into our homes where they live amongst us and our pets and are treated as one of the family, not as a foster dog. We accomplish this by limiting our fosters to one or two per household.
Besides the basics of crate training and house training, we teach them basic obedience, we groom them, feed them a high quality dog food, and last but not least, we shower them with LOVE and attention that hopefully teaches them to trust again and realize that life really IS good..
We’ll never be able to save them all, no matter how many we try to pull and foster. So we believe that the one at a time approach with the extra TLC allows us to really KNOW the dogs and be able to match them more precisely with their new families.
This ends up being a win- win situation for all involved.
Pawfect Match is all volunteer and relies solely on adoption donation fees and public support. Most times our adoption donations do not cover our medical expenses.
