Meet Sky Flypie! A young gal who enjoys exploring her surroundings. On walks, Sky Flypie is easy going on her leash and enjoys meeting other dogs, showing her friendly nature. She’s still getting used to navigating kennel steps and loud noises but handles them with gentle encouragement. While treats don’t seem to be her thing right now, she shows interest in toys and with a little encouragement lets her playful energy show. SkyFlypie love calm, reassuring companionship and would love a patient adopter who can give her the time and space she needs to fully be herself!
Eligible for rescue and adoption. Meet Sky Flypie at ACCT Philly any day of the week from 10:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. Could you be the one to help this sweet girl find her confidence and forever home?

Behavior Notes:
Per Volunteer 1/7/25: SFP was laying on her bed sleeping when I approached. She looked up at me and didn’t move when I opened the kennel door, sniffed my leash and then allowed me to loop her neck although a bit hesitant. Very easy on leash. At first she was a very hesitant Mama!! Scared and shaking outside but after a few minutes she definitely became more interested in us and sniffed us out. Didn’t take any treats or hotdogs. Came to us for pets and took pets all over!! Soo sweet once she’s comfortable. Seems handler oriented and just wants a safe home!
Per staff 1/5/25:
KENNEL PRESENTATION:
Sky Flypie was standing on her bed with a tucked tail, wide scared eyes and a trembling body. I called her to the front and showed her the leash and I got a nice wag. She was easy to leash and once secured came right out.
LEASH SKILLS:
Pulls minimally
HANDLING :
In the room, SkyFlypie was very nervous in the room. I ave her some time to sniff around and explore and she walked around with a neutral tail and pinned abc ears. She went to the bathroom, I called her a good girl and she trotted over to me with mid level wags. She then stopped to sniff and allowed all the handling but would pull away when I touched her face or neck. I offered her some treats which she declined and she walked away again. I kept calling her over in spurts to make sure we had a good interaction and with each time she warmed up more and more she allowed me to slowly touch the bottom of her chin and work up to her head (top). She is very tolerant but never solicited for affection and preferred a slower approach with her approaching you versus you going to her.
PLAY:
No interest
TOYS:
Interest but no possession
Per Volunteer 1/4:
Sky Flypie is a sweet girl who is easy to walk on a leash and enjoys meeting other dogs. See her photos and videos! She had just come into the shelter so she was a little shy and unsure leaving her kennel. It seemed like the step down out of the kennel was her concern. After a moment, she came out and then all the loud noises in the kennel area on the way out caused her to pause a couple of times. With a little encouragement she followed out. She was very easy to walk and she met two other dogs outside. She got a few pets and then it was time to return inside. When we got to the door of the building, she didn’t want to go in. Another volunteer came over and she followed her in. At the entrance to her kennel, she looked at the step up and stopped. Another volunteer looped a leash under her belly to help get her in the kennel. She was totally fine once in.
