Here's what the humans have to say about me:
ABOUT CHOCOLATE BLIZZARD
Chocolate Blizzard is our energetic, but sweet as chocolate girl! She came to HAP from one of our partner shelters when they no longer had space for her. Despite a tough start to life, she doesn't let that slow her down at all! Blizzard is excited to get out and explore everything the world has to offer. Whether it's long walks, playtime in the yard, or a fetch session, Blizzard is ready to go! While she's a bit picky about her treats, her favorite thing in the world is a tennis ball! She does this really silly thing where she tries to gather all the tennis balls in the room and makes a huge pile! Sometimes she gets so excited though and ends up knocking the balls everywhere then getting the zoomies. She's made many dog friends at the shelter and hasn't met a human she hasn't loved! Blizzard walks really well on the leash and is working on her basic manners. When she's not living it up or enjoying some cuddles, Blizzard is happy to snuggle up in her bed and relax. Recently, Chocolate Blizzard has participated in our Doggy Day Out program and here's what a volunteer had to say about her:
"I took Chocolate Blizzard out for a few hours to give her a break from the shelter! It finally started to warm up, so we decided to go over to the park to enjoy a private space. She had no problem with getting her harness on and she hoped right in the car no problem! She cuddled up on my lap during the ride but once she settled down, she loved to watch the cars and things go by. When we arrived, she realized how much room she had to run and enjoyed showing off her speed! It didn't take long for her to find a friend on the other side of the fence and she enjoyed running up and down several times with a few different dogs so she was definitely happy to make new friends. Blizzard also met a few humans and she was happy to lean in and get some cuddles. She played fetch pretty much the entire two hours we were there! She did this really silly thing, where sometimes she'd get so excited to bring it back she'd drop it and end up kicking it, then doing these silly circle jumps to try and find it! When it was time to go, she was very gentle and let me clean her off. Then on the ride back, she tried to lean against my shoulder the entire time. Our last stop of the day was to pick up a hot dog because after all that running she needed a treat! Blizzard would make a wonderful addition to any family, especially with another dog. Anyone would be lucky to have her!"
If you are interested in adopting this dog, please submit an adoption questionnaire! Our adoption process is on a first-come, best-match basis and we are not able to hold animals. If you are interested in this specific dog but it ends up not being the best fit upon meeting, our adoption counselors will work with you to help find a match! All household members, including children and other dogs, must come along for the meeting to make sure it's a good fit. If a match is made, we encourage same-day adoptions! Our adoption fees include the animals' spay/neuter, microchip, age-appropriate vaccinations and preventatives, fecal testing, heartworm testing, and a small bag of food to get you started.
