My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

ABOUT FORD
This happy-go-lucky guy is Ford! He is a 5-month-old hound mix who loves everyone and everything. Ford came to HAP from a high-intake shelter in Louisiana when they no longer had space for him. Despite being at the shelter, this guy is full of life and just happy to make new friends! In true puppy fashion, he LOVES to play and is working on some basic manners, like jumping. Even when he's very excited, he is a gentle guy and always means well, just wanting your love! Although he hasn't been with us long, Ford has participated in our Doggy Day Out program. Here's what one volunteer had to say about him:

"I got to spend some time with Ford today! He was a very sweet & playful pup! We walked for a bit at the riverfront. He’s a very curious puppy! He loves to smell everything & look around to see what’s going on, he also loves being a little cuddly at times! Ford loves chasing after leaves, so I definitely got some cardio in today!" - Leanna

If you are interested in adopting this dog, please submit an adoption questionnaire! Our adoption process is on a first-come, best-match basis and we are not able to hold animals. If you are interested in this specific dog but it ends up not being the best fit upon meeting, our adoption counselors will work with you to help find a match! All household members, including children and other dogs, must come along for the meeting to make sure it's a good fit. If a match is made, we encourage same-day adoptions! Our adoption fees include the animals' spay/neuter, microchip, age-appropriate vaccinations and preventatives, fecal testing, heartworm testing, and a small bag of food to get you started.
