A volunteer writes: Benji is quite mature for his 8 months of age (he's housebroken; knows the cues for sit, stay, and paw; and is very attentive to his human handlers), but still has fun, puppyish ways about him. He's very sweet and affectionate, wiggling and waggling into me during our interactions. When I took him to the play-yard and gave him a toy, thinking he'd enjoy playing with it, he was much more interested in soliciting chin-rubs and back-scratchies. Benji came to us when his previous family could no longer care for him. They describe him as social, affectionate, and "quite lazy"; and liked spending time with his people. He enjoys car rides and loves sitting in laps. (I can attest to his fondness for lap-sitting, happily trying to crawl into other volunteers' laps during his photoshoot). Benjy got along nicely with the teenager and other dog in the home and is generally friendly with dogs and kids if allowed to get to know them at his own pace.
